I think this is one of the better looking foundations I've seen on your skin
I hate how these companies seem to think that Black women are all one, slightly brown, color. My New Year's resolution is to only support brands that realize beauty comes in all shades.
omg thank you... the struggle is so real at the drugstore...either they don't make colors dark enough to begin with or if they do the color is just some random brown shade that is suppose to cover a range of women and don't be dark skin with yellow/golden undertones that lean slightly neutral because you are screwed...they only make dark colors in cool tones at the drug store which makes me look like a red brick tomato its terrible...
I have the opposite end of the pigment spectrum issues! I'm so pale with NO yellow undertones at all. The slightest yellow tone and I look like a Simpson. I've only found 1 company with 1 shade that covers me with years of searching high end, luxury and drug store. I've found cover fx the best for colours and now they've redone their line and I love it even more now.
I love cover fx I got my mom hooked on it. The only problem I have is that I would like to have a low end liquid foundation option and it seems impossible right now. My cover fx and urban decay foundations are both 40 dollars...I just want an 8 dollar option from time to time
+MissyMagoo87 have you tried the too faced born this way foundation? They have a really wide variety of shades all the way down to "snow" including different neutrals, pinks, and yellows. I've been dying to try it.

I just wanted to say that I appreciate that you are a real person, and not trying to be perfect with super fancy lights and crap. Watching your channel is just like sitting in the living room with a friend, shooting the shit. Too many people on RUclips are fake as hell.
I've used the Amore Pacific cushion foundation, at $62, (but it comes with a refill), but I'm hesitant to call it a "foundation". I use it more like a primer, it lays down only a super sheer layer of coverage but has SPF 50. I couldn't bring myself to spend $17 on this, without the skincare benefits and a super high SPF.
Is nobody going to compliment her drop dead gorgeous eyes??? D;

I agree! Very natural. But personally for the price you can get a lot better foundations. It's a cool concept though so hopefully some other brands will come out with some better formulas.

I just saw the L'Oreal cushion in Kroger yesterday and bought it in W8 (*Eight*). _A YELLOW NIGHTMARE_ so bad even my children's children will wake up in a sweat with visions of the L'Oreal Lumi Cushion. The only positive thing I could say is that the cold feeling of the sponge/cushion felt interesting... >_>

+laprimavera_ Isn't that the point of their warm foundations? They are yellow-toned. Cool are pink-toned and neutral are neutral. Maybe in the Loreal True Match, you shouldn't be using warm but rather neutral...

YourKimberkitten I'm aware of the cool, neutral, and warm tones, and I generally applaud that level of attention in a makeup line, especially one that isn't overall a 'POC company'. My point is: Less emphasis on 'tone', and more on the 'under' in _under_tone. I know my userpic is small and ~artistically~ grayscale, but I think we can agree I'm not yellow. This foundation was. Literally. Yellow. Where was the brown portrayed on the lid cover? What happened to Amelia Earhart? Why did the people of Roanoke disappear? Unsolved mysteries. Chills.
I'm so glad you reviewed this too! When you showed your face at the end of the night, my eyes bugged out of my head! Crazy how it reacted like that on you! I wore it again today. On my normal skin it's just... meh. I love the way it looks initially, but the lasting power just isn't great for me. Looking forward to your PF review!

Ughhhh I'm so happy you use natural lighting most of the time... Some channels get so carried away with the lighting that it makes the makeup look unnaturally flawless. Then when I use the same exact makeup it doesn't look that good. I love your foundation reviews because they are actually a good depiction of how the product works. So glad we can actually see how this foundation looks and I'm loving it :)

In my opinion, it's a waste of money:
- the sponge is absorving part of the product. You will use less quantity.
- the sponge is blocking your way. You won't reach the bottom, you will use less quantity.
- the sponge will dry and If you try to solve it, you won't be able to mix it well.

That cushion look exactly like the damp cushion my grandma used at her office to wet stamps for envelopes when I was a kid. I found it so fascinating and it had a weird smell of rubber and old disgusting water. It was a rusty red colour, but otherwise totally the same.
I love you so much but pleeeeease put foundation between your eyebrows! I know you said you don't like foundation on your eyebrows but it makes your face look so much more even in skin tone, else it looks like you've got a red patch between your eyes. It's the only thing that drives me up the wall!! Haha.

please don't allow the negativity of others to make you bitter. your comments about your eyebrows and your face being clean were not subtle. yes, it's ridiculous people think it's ok to say things to people that are overly critical or hurtful. however, one of the things I like about you, is that you're a real person. you're honest and not fake or plastic. please don't let the comments of those angry, bitter women bring you down. they have no substance or anything better to do than be hateful.

It's hard sometimes to not let certain comments get to me; my job is pretty much looking at my face all day (editing videos) so I'm hyper-aware of my physical flaws so then when people point them out rudely in the comments it just... hurts and hangs on. I don't have a channel because I couldn't handle people making comments about my weight all the time. it's not easy being criticized all the time, and people can be really ignorant. but I think you're doing a great job, love your videos!
If you plan on using a cushion foundation, buy from Korean brands! They've been making these forever and the majority of cushions are from BB Cream, not foundation, so it is better for your skin. Most sponge applicators are better too, most being less 'absorbant' so it does not soak up too much foundation, some are a rounded square so it is better to get into the 'nose crease'~! Just make sure to do research before buying for skin type from reviews, etc.! I personally love the ones from Etude House and IOPE.
You should try the brand " it's skin" their foundations, bb creams are amazing!
My personal favourite is the innisfree ampoule intense cushion!
but korean brand mostly light shade and they barely have darker shade. Even the darkest shade look lighter on me eventhough my foundation usual shade is natural beige and im an asian

Darling! This was the first video of yours that I've ever seen and I'm so happy that I stumbled upon it! This was one of the most enjoyable makeup reviews that I have EVER watched. Your wit and humor are fantastic, and your "babble" was so much more than the usual "babble" that one sees in makeup review videos. I normally find myself quite disgruntled during the "idle chat" and desperately flicking through the time line to try to find the meat of the video. But not so with you! The shade you gave to L'oreal for trying to sound like they invented the cushion foundation LOL. Also you might enjoy the Korean ones as well (such as from the Face Shop, banila, innisfree, etc) since as you know, they've been making them for years :)

i know you usually just test foundations, but do you wear concealer? like when you say im gonna put on the rest of my makeup and ill be back, do you put on concealer? and if so can you start showing that bc some foundations dont work with certain concealers and that could be another variable to test. love your videos!!!!!!!!

+BekieSkye I haven't tried this one but I really like the Laneige cushion foundation (you can buy at Target). It's $34 but it comes with a refill so it's really $17 each and it comes with a lot. It also has SPF which is really important.

Loved the music you chose, especially ProleteR "Nothing at All".
Also, L'oreal is charging $16.99 for this foundation which contains just a bit over 1/2 an ounce. Most highend foundations (many, anyway) are one full ounce so if you are comparing drugstore to higher end foundations you really paid over $30 for this one. Ouch!

Korean cushion foundations are so much better and they are like 10 bucks( plus you can buy refills for 5-6 dollars). Too bad they are kind of limited on the tones/ shades

Love how you're not afraid to sit in front of the camera with a bare face & admit that you get blemishes (as do a looot women including myself), because it makes your reviews so honest and helpful! I'm actually really glad you did a review on this foundation TBH because I had been debating between this and the new Maybelline foundation, and I eventually decided to buy the Maybelline one (my review on that one will be up soonly *winkwink*) but because I trust your opinion completely it's nice to see what you think of the one I didn't get!!! (Even though you have more oily skin and mine leans more towards the dry end of the spectrum) (Now I'm just rambling)

+JessFher69 I really like the Missha M magic cushion, it feels really great on the skin and has a nice coverage. It also has quite a few skincare ingredients as well which is quite common in Asian cushions and BB creams. Although, the downside for some of the cushions that I've tried including the MIssha one is their limited shade range.
I'm with Zoey. The Missha one is actually the only one I've tried (too skint for Laneige lol) and I really liked that although you might not be a fan if you don't like the wateriness of the Loreal. Still though I feel like it was realy good coverage - I don't like heavy coverage at all, so it was a bit TOO heavy for me, which is hilarious (die hard BB cream fan over here). But you'd probably really like it, it sounds like it's just a better version of the Loreal basically. And cheaper! The packaging looks better too and you can get refils.
You should be ok with shade range too - you're quite pale. I think I got the darker shade (there were only 2 :o( ) and it was pretty good for me and I'd say I'm not as pale as you.

To me it's just unacceptable for a foundation to be 16.99$ and you get less than half of a usual foundation. For it to be a full foundation you'd have to pay double. And 33.98$ for a DRUGSTORE foundation, is fucking whack.

Have you found that the real techniques sponge has lowered in quality recently? I bought a new one after having purchased a 2 pack last year which lasted me a while and i noticed that my new one is so terribly porous and not dense whatsoever. It's rough and just blends awfully. I purchased from ulta so its authentic. It sucks i'm so upset bc im gonna have to buy a beauty blender now. :-(

Yes I noticed that too. my first real techniques sponge lasted a while and make my foundation apply beautifully. however, the last sponge I bought did a terrible job and fell apart so quickly!! +Ashley Aplicano there is this badass little trimmer you can buy at walmart, looks kinda like a pen, works like a charm. just kinda glide it along your fave and it snips the hairs off, but doesnt shave like a razor. i was terrifiednto ever shave my face. but i love this little thing. wish i could remember the name of it.

Hey girl. You are so honest. My heart went out to when the'shine' appeared. Take much heart, when you get to your 50's that greasy skin will be the biggest blessing. No wrinkled prunes for us. We can cover it when we're young and we rock great skin in our second youth... (Just never smoke and you'll be golden).
