Ohhhhhh man this exactly what I need ! Thank you soo much ! I’m working on a paginated report with dynamic rls I was still unsure about how to use the Dynamic RLS part but you gave me all the answers. Just amazing content!
@PatrickDBA, Our company won’t enable any ‘preview features’ at the tenant or capacity level. Do you know when ‘export as image’ might reach General Release?
I've tried to get this to work, but when I attempt to open my PDF I get a "This visual does not support Exporting" message. Also, my PDF's are much smaller in size. I'm using a Power BI report with an embedded Paginated report. I've tried attaching to emails and writing to a share point doc library. Can't open the PDF. All components are in my premium service workspace. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
This is great stuff. One question: My CEO does not want attachments. He wants his report embedded in his e-mail so he sees it immediately. This would be the same for individuals. Can I burst PBI reports, by individuals - as shown - but embed the report (or PDF or whatever) into the email instead of making it an attachment?
Can we skip the Role part? All I need is to send out the same report, filtered based on email (RLS). What is this role affecting? All people with the same Role get the same report, or it is still individual? Thank you!
How to create new DD subscription and what are the limitations and perquisites for the same, for paginated report, and how to export report of each page breaked report to separate CSV or PDF to SharePoint or Email
Thank you Patrick. This is really an informative video. Is there any way to Dynamically or automatically change the field values, according to the column values in the data source.
Hey guys, great video again. Question. How would you set this up if you only wanted an email to go to the user if there was data for them. So, for example, daily sales and in region 1 and 2 there are sales today and tomorrow, there are only sales for region 1. I don't want an email to go to region 2 since they didn't have any sales.
Amazing video as always Adam! Is there a way we can setup ALERTS (like we set it up for KPIs and Cards etc. in service) for table visual column values using power automate/any other trick? Eagerly waiting for alert support on other power visuals. Please suggest if we can make this alert work based on column value through some iteration.
Great video Patrick! We currently have an old Crystal Reports environment that distributes over 3,000 reports every day and we want to migrate that to our Power BI Premium. Is Power Automate capable to deal with such big distribution lists? Or is it mainly for smaller groups?
So helpful. I tried embedding a paginated report in email but it didn't work. Can you do a video on how to embed a paginated report in email instead of attachment.
any ideas how to create a button that would navigate as well as activate a bookmark? the idea would be when clicking this button it would reset the slicer on that page as well as go to another page. Currently i have a re set book mark button, but its too complicated to for users so maybe a way to have it apply automatically when leaving that page? love your videos keep make great content :)
Hi guys, I'm using an Azure SQL DB with Azure AD. I can connect to this using SSMS and SSDT but when I try to connect with Power BI Desktop it won't authenticate the Azure Active Directory account (EXTERNAL_USER rôle). If I use an SQL login (SQL_USER rôle) with Power BI it works fine. Any thoughts on what I need to do to get this up and running? I now use ODBC connexion but this is not optimal and impossible to refresh data via Power BI Portal Thanks for any help
Hi guys, how can i solve my problem? I want to create a flow button and if the user click on the button the flow send a mail to the user with a dataset. The data set can be a whole power bi table. Can you help us? Colleagues often ask how they could download the detail datas of the visuals
This is going to be big for us. I've got a regulary .pbix report that's being generated manually by our account team for 250+ clients each month. What I hope to do is make a paginated report and use power automate to generate that report for each client every month. What I'd like to do is loop through the existing "client" slicer, generate the report for the "previous" month, and then import slicer options by client from a sharepoint list. What are some considerations I should be aware of before going all in on this approach to automate creation of this report?
Yay, now we can email out hundreds of reports to customers and not know if they're being looked at, instead of users interacting with them and having metrics to guide decisions around future report design. 🤔😉😂🤣 Jokes aside, another good video. Thanks.
According to the forums I'm reading, you cannot run this task without first purchasing the Premium License...Microsoft (bleeps) on the little guys again, figures.
The export API is so slow, it would take me 9 hours to get through all my reports. So it's a nice idea and all, but we are resorting to on-premise PBIRS for this.
Very cool! On the next episode, let's share the Power BI report (link) and filtered to the user email address! When the open the report it will be the data relevant to them!
Beware - there are limits for API exports that depend on your capacity after which Power BI start throttling your report. This in manifests as a yellow banner on the top of EVERY of your PDF that tells you that your connection's been throttled. Thanks Microsoft, for ruining a month of my work.
@@ScottyOLeary Everywhere I go, it says 50 pages per something... What I figured is that this is rather a problem of PBI guts than malicious intent. I moved to using PBI Desktop to generate PDFs, and then automated the process with Power Automate Desktop - obtaining list of parameter values from Excel and looping through them with mouse clicks and other things. However, after certain number of calls to export to PDF, the rendering performance starts to degenerate, and I had to modify the Automate script to close PBIX every 10 iterations. Otherwise performance degrades down to 3x slower after 100 exports. Just a note - my export is 20 pages worth.
Hi Guys. Can you show us how to use the DAX formula stdevx.s for a calculated metrics with multiple number of slicers. Id like to use it as tolerance limit for my line graph. :) Appreciate your help and thanks

So helpful! Would love to see more videos on the integrations with Automate :)
Gonna be honest guys I didn’t realise this was for premium only, that’s a real set back
I'm so glad this is method is more involved than using the standard subscription. Thanks for the post!
I’ve been Power Automate for nearly 2 years and I definitely look forward to learning more from your videos 😄😄
Isn't this premium only. Not PPU, but strictly premium, as Power Automate is considered an API call, or am I mistaken here?
Following this question, as I had the same.
Yeah it seems only for premium, not the PPU. That doesn't make sense....
This. Needs to be said up-front. Premium capacity required.
Great video, but I have a quick question: What if I need to email a paginated report that is different for each user as a pdf?
Amazing question. I'll wait for the answer here as well.
So helpful. Question - does this work only with dedicated capacity?
As I expected, this is another fantastic video from you. Thank you!
Wow so powerful use case! Thank you Patrick, more Power Automate please!!
Insane amazing!!! EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thanks Patrick. Keep great content coming
Love it! Is it just for pdf/png or could I subscribe someone to an excel extract with this?
@PatrickDBA, Our company won’t enable any ‘preview features’ at the tenant or capacity level. Do you know when ‘export as image’ might reach General Release?
Thanks Patrick! I always wanted to know if this could be done and it is actually so easy to do.
extremely helpful as always. You are a lifesaver. 🙂

Thanks, This is helpful, can you tell me if I can send csv/excel format report in this ? I saw pdf and other options but not all here.
Great Video !! Is there any way to push this subscriptions to a shared location rather than emails ...??do you have any video or blog?
Great video, thanks. One question : Does receivers need to have a PowerBI Licence ?

If possible can you please make a video for Azure devops CICD pipeline with dynamic connection.
Any idea what can be used instead of "get sharepoint items" if we want to read each value through a CSV which has just one column?
How to create new DD subscription and what are the limitations and perquisites for the same, for paginated report, and how to export report of each page breaked report to separate CSV or PDF to SharePoint or Email
Excellent explanation

Thank you, very useful. Is there a way to achieve the same result without using the email address as a part of RLS filter?
Great explanation.
waiting for more videos on power automate integration😇
Thank you so much. May I ask how get the value to input the Page Visual Name?
This is good. Instead of report out put as attachment, how can we have it in email body?
Also, when can we expect MHTML export output for PBI reports?
Very Good Patrick !
Will this work with reports stored on local PBI Report Server?
how is the paginated report using the email address to do the filtering for the paginated report?
Hey Patrick ? Can you help me create a pareto chart. The old type of DAX queries are not seem to be working.
i tried each step, but the attachment i received says, cannot load model, please suggest what should i check
Patrick.. can you please make a video on Bookmark State option..
Can you help by showing how to write the filter query in power Automate to filter specific slicers and generate report .. thanks in advance..
Great! I was just wondering how this could be done
Ooh ooh!!! I recommended this to my colleagues and unfortunately, they got the following error: . Does this mean we need Power Bi Pro license?

Can we use excel file here instead of Sharepoint list ?

Can I send brusted reports from report server using power automate
Love it, is there any way of embedding the export into the body of the email?
Yes you have to attach it as image then include reference to attachment in body as html as well
Sweet desktop wallpaper 😎

Is there any workable way to use multiple values in parameters yet?
hey, have you find a solution to multiple values parameters? I am having the same issue passing them from excel online
Export to pdf is only for premium workspaces
Not just premium workspace. Premium capacity - meaning no premium per user.
I am getting an error where it says error using getitems, advanced flow of the week filtering with odata. Can anyone please help?
How to do this without attached PDF but editable text in email body?
I see comments that it is only for Premium...can it be done with Premium Per User?
Hallelujah!
Coool!
Oh no, Report requested for export is not on dedicated capacity

Advise, this is only for dedicated capacity.
I’m in shock
#PowerAutomateBI =) Ty Guys
Why doesn’t this work on Premium Per User workspaces/licenses?! 🤨🤔
It doesn't? Darn. That was my question. They've really locked down the ability to share reports unless you have a full premium license
@@tiptapkey thanks for the answer, was looking for this ans
You're blowing my mind to smithereens right now, Patrick. 🤯
do i need Premium capacity?
Yes, you need it.
Do you speak German, Patrick? I see your RUclips interface at 1:38 isn't in English :)
Nooooooo. Dedicated capacity only. :(

Yes, I am looking for that...I would lile to know on how to send Filtered Power Bi Report in PDF in email
This requires Premium with dedicated capacity, which currently costs $5,000 a month. What a shame
Many Bananas

Hey Vlad - I’m running into a similar issue. I can’t find the API limitations documented anywhere. What limitations were you seeing?
