In chess some say the best form of defence is attack. The same can be true for this... defence is reaction, offense is action. So go on the offensive when it comes to who you want to be. Don't just react. I used to love reading about the ancient masters in temples. They were so in control of their emotions, their thoughts and their lives that they always came across as completely calm and at ease. When I talk about "the master" in this video, it's about mastering your brain and body, not others. An animal will just react and be what it is. That's fine. But as humans our potential is much greater, we can't rely on primitive instinct if we want to be our best. The idea is to master your actions to the point they become your default reactions... through repetition you can change your thoughts and emotions to what they should be, so as said, take a step back, really think about what the best version of you would do, then keep repeating that. The master acts, the animal reacts. And later, the master just reacts too before finding a new act.
im the army here, they teach you about feeling cold. i always remember when im feeling cold. " i FIND it cold, but i dont want to feel cold for now, i force imagine myself that its not THAT cold." i change the emotion connected to feeling cold, make the meaning of cold something completely diffetent. i do the same thing for pain. but thats dangerous, for me anyways - almost lost my left lower leg in BMXing, the pedal cut into my shin exposing the bone. bleeding like crazy, just two inch cut, i put a damn bandaid over it - week later it still hurt, doc desinfected and said, one week later, it could have infect and those infections spread like fire, i could have lost lower leg man. So apply accordingly and with caution. be smart :)
When it comes to your body giving you signals ... listen. Cold, pain, hunger... do something about them. This video is more about higher function once you have basic function sorted. Please take care of yourself!
These past few days I've been finally climbing out of a very very long rut and gaining back my motivation to live essentially. With each day as I tried to be the best version of myself, there was something that would try and kick me back down but I decided to keep pushing on because I need to. Then tonight (or technically this morning) I got pulled over for going 60mph on a 50mph road. The cop pulled me over just to see if I was "okay". He was understanding and didn't write me up for speeding, but I only had a permit so he had to write a citation for that. He let me drive back home but it still fucked with my head. Leading to that self degrading train of thought again. Thinking that I can't catch a break and wallowing in self pity. But after browsing youtube for the past hour I'm really glad I found this video. Of all things i've watched recently this video inspired me the most. I'm going to continue on the path of acting instead of reacting and finally truly pursue the best version of myself and not let adversity get to me . Thx Rocket Jump Ninja I really do appreciate it.
Another piece of advice, both for gaming and real life: You'll come across a lot of things in life or in-game that you can't control, whether it be a hectic work schedule/obligations or shitty teammates and unbalances in a game. So instead of complaining about those uncontrollable elements and devoting entirely too much energy to moot points, focus on the one thing you CAN always change and improve: yourself.
That is shit advice though. Well, for most with an average life it might be good, but bad for others. Well, the last part at least. Had you said the same thing to someone in a war situation, they would have told you to fuck off. Or a person in an abusive relationship. Some of these people can change by changing the situation by moving for example, sometimes that is just not possible. Complaining can help, if you do it in order to try to change the environment. The way you phrased it can make it seem like it is all on just the person or the mindset when we often overstate people's ability for free will. I don't think you meant the advice in that way though. 12 step method, a great method for addicts to get rid of the addiction got a beautiful saying that I think phrases what you are trying to say in a better way. “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Also with the gaming part of it, but also life in general, many times you can get frustrated at one thing, and then more and more things just easily piss you off more, and it keeps going until you finally just walk away or realize there is another way.
12 step method for addicts saying: “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
You are the most “real” youtuber out there. You truly want to help people with their skills and put loads amounts of effort into your videos. We all love you and your content.
This is a thing I have struggled with for my entire life. I am a very reactionary person by default, but I do NOT want to be that way anymore. I am going to act on what is best and not just want I want in the moment. Thank you for bringing this point to the forefront of my thoughts.
This was highly interesting and I really think the same way too. Acting is better than reacting and it's pointless to rage about something you cannot control such as getting one-shot or headshot by being at the wrong place in the wrong moment.
Everyone except you who makes this type of vid says dumb, obvious, or at best slightly helpful things to a specific game/situation, but you give advice for the big picture and to reach goals. That’s why you are so helpful. From now on I’m on the grind and every hour I’m awake is dedicated to reaching my goals (not literally)

@@arete7884 and no wisdom brings solace. I just do what goverment wants me to do and then do what I like the most but dont want it to come a job, sports and videogames. And self's inner purpose is everyone's own business in the end when outter is what society and your surroundings wait from you. You can change outter purpose whit switching from society to another or even move from city to countryside, if you want it to change it that way. Just an example.

I’ve always wanted to hop on a server but I’m scared that the people still playing quake live are mega brain gaming warlords so I mainly just play with bots
hahaha, same! when i first started playing quake live, I would see all the servers and some clan arena servers. I'm almost always trying to stay away from them. I've only tried playing clan arena twice because it's kind of hard, you don't know how to help your team and all of that.
Assuming it's a 200 health 100 armour server, just try to do 300 damage. Teams are even, it's 1 for 1. As long as you can deal 300 damage per round, you've helped your team enough. And an easy to do that is find an enemy at the start (that isn't surrounded by others) and just shoot rockets at their feet. Or you can play it safe by grouping up with your team mates and then spamming doorways with rockets and grenades, basically blocking the attackers from that direction so your team mates can focus on the other doorways. You have 10 seconds to position yourself and figure out where people are before each round starts.
Okay so I really feel you, and I want to become the version of myself that I invision, or whoever becomes of the pursuit. But, when Im in the game, in real life, in the moment that I want to change, I only am my feelings, and to express something different feels fake, feels wrong. I've struggled with avoidant personality disorder (I avoid conflicts, and my true feelings), because I've experienced a lot of adversity when being myself; especially when being the bad parts obviously. The only true course for me, feels like being myself at every turn, and learning from the experience, whatever happens. But it's hard man. So hard.
Flow is when the unconscious bleeds into the mind and overtakes it. Why do you think people “snap out of it” when they enter flow? It’s because they never took the time to react to what they were doing. Always just acting without a thought in the world as to what they said, did, heard, felt. @Rocket Jump Ninja has taught us a valuable lesson. Namaste Master Zy. I respect your teachings and have studied them most of my life.
This is pretty far back and anecdotal but I remember back in Dota 1 days in Warcraft 3, 15 years ago basically I was getting tutored by one of the better players in the young pro scene back then and that was a piece of advice that I got from him at least in terms of dota. To not let what the enemy team necesarrily dictate what you do. Always have a plan and know that you got balls and just act and do what you need to do .
I just started playing R6: Siege, sure the community can be obnoxious and cruel toward the newbies, just like in any other competitive FPS. Your advise always help, it's not about the win but it's about familiarize yourself with the game. I know i'll never be perfect with my aiming but at least i'm more confidence.
Act intead of react also works for improving, not realy your aim directly, but your hit count still. Always be thinking on step ahead of your opponents, knowing where they are even if you don't see / hear them makes you prepared for them. It makes you know where to shoot and when, so that sometimes, you don't even have to aim to get the hit. That's overly underated at mdium / low level of gameplay, yet it litteraly makes the difference between let's say a supreme to a GE in CSGO, and is evenly important to master as aiming in an FPS. Don't know if that's what you were hoping for but I tried :D Edit: You know, that"s what make ppl say: "that cunt has a wh 100% !" :p
the sad thing tho is that money is the root of all evil. There are many things i want to do and change but can't afford to. Thus getting stuck in jobs that are not enjoyable at times and have rough it out.
I would be curious to see what your Kovaak's Aim Trainer scores would be on some of the most popular scenarios... You'd probably blow away the averages, and who knows might have a few top 1% high scores? I think it'd make great content for a video for your channel too. If I'd love to see it, I'm sure some of your other fans would too!
i would do both depending on the situation, if the glitch is completely game breaking to the point where you cannot win no matter what happened of course i would complain about it, everyone would
there is no reason to not support this channel. You have a great head on your shoulders and like that you are trying to help others to improve themselves. I already got my forever mouse thanks to you (mm711) but i still watch your reviews just to show some love. I really want to help your channel even more so if I may id like to offer some info to you. I'm a personal trainer and I know a thing or two about dealing with tendinitis and gamer related hand and elbow injuries and I think you should maybe take it more into consideration when reviewing and recommending mice for people more prone to or trying to avoid such injuries. Could even be a video idea, I would love to see you do a vid on it. If its possible to pm you some how I could talk to you about all the research I've done. Hope you and everyone else has a wonderful holiday and new years. take it easy out there!

Do more of this. Thank you for the advice
Hey guys, me game glitched, so let's make a SUPER DEEP PHILOSOPHICAL STATEMENT
Thanks for the motivation man , i really needed it
This was deeper than video game advice
I just started playing R6: Siege, sure the community can be obnoxious and cruel toward the newbies, just like in any other competitive FPS. Your advise always help, it's not about the win but it's about familiarize yourself with the game. I know i'll never be perfect with my aiming but at least i'm more confidence.
Great, thoughtful vid, as always
philosophy at it's finest
Came for video game tips, stayed for life lessons...
rocket jump ninja doesn't just review mouses, he's reviewing life itself
Every action is a reaction.
zy: "Good luck."
me: **close youtube, start training**
That’s just freethinking right there.
i miss quake(live) so much man..
watched the video and went to the gym...
first time after long break
thx man
Great video brother, came from Twitter lmao
so professional and minimalist
This video changed my life!
now i feel like i can control my life now, thanks rjn! :D
Tried to get better at games and somewhere along the way got tricked into a healthy lifestyle and a better mindset
Ive been playing FPS for years, Im still shit but I enjoy every minute, even a little win is a big win when your crap lol
Here I was expecting some kind of aim train techniques
Kr4m's kovaaks routine. Google it, if you're looking for something like that.
Don't know if that's what you were hoping for but I tried :D
Edit: You know, that"s what make ppl say: "that cunt has a wh 100% !" :p
@@Tihowiel I play Kovaaks and Aimgod, which is much better then Kovaaks.
Damn your videos hit more than games
May the force be with you
Rocketjumpninja, if you write a book i would buy it immediately. You are wonderful, keep going.
Id love to read a book from you, you seem so intelligent and the way you put things together helps me a lot :)
I think he has books out. Im not sure how to obtain them, though.
Currently rewriting them, I'll do a video on here when they're ready!
@@RocketJumpNinja Looking forward to it!
@@RocketJumpNinja ooo!
It does help. Thanks for this video.
Came to watch a tips video to improve, had an existential crisis instead
Listening to you remind me of a great book by the name “The alchemist.”
Your philosophical friend in discord when his graphics crashed:
this was good advice. For real dude
that's a nice review. where can i buy this mouse?
Great video, great advice keep it up zy 🙌.
the sad thing tho is that money is the root of all evil. There are many things i want to do and change but can't afford to. Thus getting stuck in jobs that are not enjoyable at times and have rough it out.
I must be a damn animal after that description of them, because that sounds a whole lot like me
Came for the gaming mice reviews, stayed for the life lessons
Mouse Guru turned Life Guru
I like this content we are all gamers so we need to hear stuff like this.
I came here to get better at games, but instead got a life lesson..(nice)
For a video about a 20-year-old FPS game they sure did get deep.
i would do both depending on the situation, if the glitch is completely game breaking to the point where you cannot win no matter what happened of course i would complain about it, everyone would
Lol this is the guy who you bring to the party!
I rather be someone else but im stunk in a mental state of limitation.
there is no reason to not support this channel.
