I have made jewelry and sold it in boutiques for several years. I find it a challenge to create something unique and in style. This video is a tremendous inspiration for me to creates pieces more in style. Thank you for a great, informative video.
You are so welcome, Karen. I'm so pleased that it inspired you.
Appreciate finding you here Karen. Help pls
I know I saw this but lost my phone. Learning how to get started again! You’re always abound with wonderful wisdom!
Thank you so much Charisse.
I've been wearing an armful of cuff bracelets for years! I wear all my Navajo bracelets at once. I can't get enough!
That sounds perfect!
OOOH! That brooch combo/cluster was a winner for me!
Ha ha, me too! I love the brooches, always have. Thank you.
I will be resting pieces to sell that hit these trends. Thank you!
That's great Cheryl. I'm so pleased that you found this one useful. Thank you.
I love brooches…..SO EXCITED FOR THEM TO RETURN !!! I have many special ones, that I’ve kept for decades and wear on jackets and coats. Adding several to a jean jacket will be right up my alley. 😊
Thank you Sandra. Yes, I always buy vintage brooches when I see them. I just love them and I don't understand why they get overlooked so often.
Pretty much all of those trends fit well with my jewelry designs! I am so happy to hear that the dainty trend is fizzling out a bit.
Thank you so much Karin. I am so pleased about the dainty trend going too. Not me at all. I'm glad that these fit well with you. To be honest, I picked mostly trends that worked for me too.
I’m delighted to see brooches trending! I have a collection of them and have been wearing them. Sweet!
Thank you Jeannetta. I have been collecting brooches for a while and wearing them too.
I agree with the trends you outlined, especially away with the dainties. I love creating one of a kind pieces because nothing says special like having a necklace or earrings that no one else else in the world has. And big and bold is so much fun!
Thank you Cheryl. I so agree with you. To me, there's so much more dimension in a large piece.
You have lovely taste. Thank you for the incentive and explanation you provided. Very nice pieces.
Thank you, Lucy. I will be doing another trend video in January so keep an eye out for that.
I thoroughly enjoyed your informative information on 2023 jewelry trends. Thank you😊
Thank you so much, Rose Marie.
I sense that as women get older they find that bolder jewellery gives them something. Delicacy loves young skin and we all have our turn at that. Nice to have something to look forward to.
Rikki, you might be right. I think that it comes from confidence to wear what you want too.
You have a lovely teaching style and I'm enjoying your videos.
Thank you so much, Andre. I really appreciate that.
I love brooches and am thrilled they’re making a comeback … even though I’ve worn them for years!! 😊
Thank you Mina. I have also been wearing them for years. I'm planning to make another one really soon. In the meantime, did you see my "when brooches go bad" video? ruclips.net/video/RY6z4zITPD0/видео.htmlsi=09oAsxK594NxIjXp
@@The_Stylish_Maker I am a new subscriber so I will definitely check it out! Blessings!
I like the multiple broaches idea.
Me too, you will see me wearing them sometimes too. Thank you.
Love the Necklace and earrings.🎉🎉❤
Thank you Diane.
You can find the earrings here: ruclips.net/video/_6eNTRmSaoU/видео.html;
And the necklace here: ruclips.net/video/9d2yQzJ2wdQ/видео.html
Enjoy!
I love brooches and will continue to wear lots of them!
Thank you so much for your comment. Yes, it amazes me that people don't wear brooches more as they are a great way to add some sparkle to an outfit.
I'm not much on trends, so I'll just stick with what I like. I make necklaces, bracelets, and earrings out of natural gemstones. Now, the pearl necklace with the hearts is interesting, I think I can make one with my own twist to it! I'm glad brooches are back, I never gave them up! I just love my cloisinae cowboy boot I wear on my denim jacket! Thanks for the video!
Hi Mary Lou, I'm glad you stick with what you love. That's important. I actually did my own take on the pearl necklace last week so if you would like to see what I did, you can view it here. ruclips.net/video/aKTa-VlNefA/видео.html
Thank you.
@Affordable Jewellery Supplies I even made my daughter's wedding jewelry, which was a big challenge! She had a hand drawn picture of what she wanted, and by George, she got it! Seed pearls and Swarovski beads. I even made henr Bridal parties necklaces, red Swarovski crystals! Everything came out beautiful!
I enjoyed this video so much. I’m in my 60 s and never know what to wear your words of wisdom are great inspiration for any age. Thank you…
Hi Patricia, thank you for your kind words. I am also getting up there in years (60 this year) but I do like to keep my finger on the pulse of what's happening in the fashion industry. Lots of research was done for this video. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed it.
I'm glad multi colored metals are back, since I never could bring myself to stop.
Haha, June. We do whatever makes us happy and that's important. You carry on doing you! Thank you.
I have always worn a brooch in a jacket lapel for what seems like forever! Now I make my own and have even more choice!! 😊
Thank you for your comment. I'd love to see some of your brooches. You can always email me pictures at carol@affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz. I'm in the process of designing some more.
Love the brooches
Thank you Heather - me too. I'm working on some brooches as we speak.
I. Love the brooch combo. I have a few brooches which I never wear so putting them together might work! Exciting. Thank you!
Thank you Jacqui. I love brooches too and have started wearing them together. They look great.
Thanks for this video, I've recently started back my jewelry business and it's good to see that I'm on the right track. I was self taught so all these beautiful tips comes in handy....thank you 🥂🇹🇹🏖
You are very welcome Linell. I'm pleased that you found this one useful.
Too bad there's only a thumbs up button 👍 and not a love it button ❤ to rate videos. Thank you for your tutorials. I'm getting back into jewelry making after being away from it for years and you are excellent for beginners and for refreshing others with so much information
Thank you so much, Lova. I'm so pleased that you are enjoying the videos, and that you are enjoying making jewelry again.
What a fun video! Blues & greens are what I gravitate toward 💙
Thank you so much Marie. Blue and green together is awesome. Last year I had to actually make a real effort to stop making blue jewellery as I had so much!
Thank you for sharing your research! Love those earrings BTW !
Thank you so much Terrie. Which earrings did you love?
Nice. Will try emeralds. Love your earrings 👍🏾
Thank you. I think Emeralds are so beautiful too. You can find the tutorial for the earrings here: How to Make Pearl Fan Earrings

I like the up coming trends thanks for sharing was interesting to see.🌻
Thank you so much Cathy. It is always interesting to see what's in store for us. I do love some of this year's trends.
EXCELLENT! Thank❤ you!
You are very welcome, Peggy.
I’m just learning about jewelry making and so happy I ran across your site! I wish I had started years ago but you make it look so easy I believe I will actually have the patience to learn from you.
I want to add that I absolutely love your taste in jewelry and what you do with it. I have plenty of videos to catch up on but very excited to see all the different ideas you have! I am very versatile and love everything from pearls to steampunk. Thank you for all of your exquisite designs and instructional help.
Oh, Janie, thank you so much. My taste in jewellery changes daily (maybe monthly!) as I like all kinds of jewellery, except those tiny wee things that you can't see :) I'm sure that you can do it. It does patience and a bit of perseverance, especially when it comes to making loops, but you'll get there. Thank you again, for your comment.
Loved the video. Thank you for the information!!
Thank you so much Juanita.
Loved this video. The girls and I had a “flash Friday” today and we all wore some bling for the day, some of which featured in your video.
Thank you so much, Dawn. That sounds like such a lot of fun.
So many styles i would actually wear!
Thank you so much for your comment Nicki. I tried to choose styles that would work for our every day lives.
Thanks!
You're welcome. Thank you so much Jackleen.
I absolutely love your ideas. I just started getting into jewelry making. I'm really bad at it so far, and it takes me a long time to complete things. But watching your videos makes me feel more confident. I'm so excited to watch the rest of your videos so I can get really pumped up to try new things!
Thank you so much Gelly. Welcome to the jewellery making world. Be careful though, it's very addictive! I really sucked when I first started too. Some days I still do! It just takes practice, especially making those loops, which everyone struggles with. Keep persevering - you'll get there.
Im so addicted and have moved back to IL from AZ after my husbands death. My Etsy shop has been on vacation for what seems like forever! I CANT wait to get back at it! Although I’m addicted and a gal at Michaels told me that I’d be back and I was! I always feel like I’m with “my people” when visiting Michaels. I’m not real good at it but my golly I give it a go and you should too!
I am sorry for your loss, and hope your craft brings you to joy.
Beautiful design
Thank you Andrea.
THANK YOU for both the great close up pictures and the links to each example!💝💐💝
Thank you, Laura. You're welcome.
Hi great video learning a lot I have so many ideas and a lot of beads and gemstones I inherited recently and thrifted some so loving the idea of making my own things that no one else will have
That's wonderful, Gigi. You have everything you need to get started. Have fun!
Thank you for such a great video. Really enjoyed watching :)
Thank you so much Charlotte. I really appreciate that.
I love brooches, stacked bracelets too!
Thank you Renae. I just love them too. In fact, I've been buying vintage brooches whenever I see them.
Great info, thank you
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching.
Loved this vid. Glad i found your channel
Thank you so much. Welcome.
I love the mermaid colors❤
Thank you. Yes, me too. I made some mermaid earrings just after this. You can see the tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/uFwBQxREsz8/видео.html
I like the way you get to the point!
Thank you so much, Jackleen. Yes, I've been that - some people don't like it. Lol.
Thank you !
You're very welcome, Mia.
I have made jewelry in the past and I do some with my Cricut machine. Thank you so much for your information. Great video. 😍
Thank you so much Connie. I have only made the Easter Bunny Earrings with my Cricut. I always mean to do more but never get around to it. I'd love to see some of your work - you can always email me at carol@affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz if you would like to share some photos.
Excellent video. Thank you for the info! I love the large bracelets, but you are right, not practical, but the pearls and the dark colors I'll embrace.👍🏻
Sounds fantastic! Thank you, Jo.
Thank you. This is very informative. I'm new to jewelry making, and I gain so much insight from you and your videos. Thank you for that. 🥰
Thank you so much MisKandi. I'm so pleased that my videos are helpful to you.
spot on Carol...I love statement pieces...I use to wear 5 etc. bracelets up my arms (skinny arms) to fill them out!!10ths later to the party!!
cheers!!!
Thank you.
Thanks for the trend tips. I'm making jewelry for retail and this is very helpful! I made a few brooches last year so will bring them out and make a few more! Your jewelry is gorgeous.
Thank you so much. I'm so pleased that you found this one helpful.
Thanks so much for this video! I like the mermaid, the hearts and emerald trends for this year. Like you, I cannot wear big bracelets up to my elbows, but a nice 10mm stack suits me just fine ;-)
Thank you so much Lynn. Someone asked me the other day why I don't wear bracelets in my tutorials and it's simply because they bang on the desk and make too much sound on the video. Imagine if I had those heavy ones stacked up - the noise! Lol. I'm planning a mermaid style tutorial in the near future so stay tuned.
This is lovely! I just subscribed and really appreciate your approach, talent and excellent information! Blessings ✨
Thank you so much Sydney Jane for your great comments, and also for subscribing. That really helps me out.
I love the earrings you are wearing in the video!
Hi Tom, thank you so much. The tutorial for the earrings I'm wearing in this video can be found here: ruclips.net/video/_6eNTRmSaoU/видео.html
The only trend I think you missed was the "Mess Neck" look. Maybe I'm just late to the party but I love the look. It definitely fits into the punk trend. I am a self taught silver smith and I have had to put away my more dangerous tools because I keep my 2 year old granddaughter while her parents work. Beads we can do safely. I love your analysis!
Hi Kim, thank you for that. My son's girlfriend wears the mess neck trend but it's all fine jewellery which is on the way out so I wasn't sure whether to include it. Also, it's been around for a while now. I'm so happy that you are working with your granddaughter with beads. It's so important that we pass on our skills to the next generation.
Thank you ,
You are welcome.
Thank You from Puerto Rico.
You are so welcome.
Great video, thank! Definitely won't be doing the punk scene nor the bangles up to my elbows. But I am aiming to stack some bracelets when I've made a few more. I love hearts and have been using some jet beads for a while.
That sounds fabulous. Seems like you have interpreted the trends to suit your needs. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you for this video. I was a bit worried about my first craft fair this summer in uk. It's nice to know that a lot of the stuff I've made is likely to sell. Subscribed.
That's so great! I'm really pleased that this video was helpful to you.
Your brooch is gorgeous!
Thank you so much KJ. If you would like to make it, you can see the tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/RY6z4zITPD0/видео.html
Love it all. I make jewelry also. I like the dark jewelry
Thank you so much Debra. Yes, lots in this one to unpack. You might have guessed, I love dark jewellery too.
Wonderful, Carol. Thank you. I like bold and those blue greens. Brooches are awesome but I don’t wear them. Will you be doing more videos snd making th egg m? Happy new year!
Thank you so much Jane. Yes, it is my intention to make more brooches this year. Stay tuned!
Great ideas to be relevant with my jewelry in 2023. AA
Thank you so much Angela. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this video.
How lovely to meet you! I’ve just found your channel! I love that dainty is going out,I’m in my 60s and love the bolder jewelry.I love brooches and love that they’re in style again.Your jewelry is masterful,I used to make my own.I am a painter at heart and have returned to it.❤🇨🇦
,
Thank you so much, Jean. Lovely to meet you too. I really love that you have returned to jewelry making after an absence. Glad you enjoy the videos.
@giajames, hello from New Zealand. You sound like your doing your 60s fabulously. I'm 60 this year also.
I'm really happy about the mixed metals trend. Chain maille often incorporates multiple colored rings in the design process. So that's good news, as is the emerald trend and statement pieces parts.
Thank you so much, Josie. I'm happy about those too.
Just found you - I usually stick to keychains but I’m starting to branch out!
THANK YOU for the info, I have more broaches than Carter had peanuts. 😊
Thank you so much for your comment. I'd love to see some of your brooches. You can send me photos at carol@affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz if you like. Thanks. Carol
Hi from Texas. I really like the jewelry that you are wearing. I can't wear real heavy or real long earrings.
Hello, Connie. Thank you so much. You can find the tutorial for the necklace I'm wearing here: ruclips.net/video/9d2yQzJ2wdQ/видео.html.
The tutorial for the earrings that I'm wearing can be found here: ruclips.net/video/_6eNTRmSaoU/видео.html
Oh good bc I’m so sick of making things no one will wear 😂 I’m all for bold colors gems charms and fun boho. I’m so excited about the memory wire stack bracelets !
Thank you, Jenni. Me too! I was actually ecstatic when I saw the the bold jewellery is back, however, there's a real shift towards single, larger gold and silver pieces. I'm not a fan. Hopefully it will be fleeting and we can get back to making what we love.
TYFS. Love emeralds but will pass on punk 😂
Ha ha. Thank you so much Cathleen. Subtle punk details maybe???
Stack my bracelets. Going to get my brooches out. Use pearls whnvr possible. Emerald, yess. Ty so much.
Sounds like the trends are good for you this year. Thank you, Maria.
New sub here from Spokane Valley Wa. Emerald is my birth stone.i love that necklace you made for your sister,I might just have to try that one for my 60th on may 1st
Hi Roberta, that sounds like a great idea. I just love the colour emerald, not my birthstone but it is wonderful.
Mermaid trend for sure!
Thank you so much for your comment. Keep watching as I have a pair of mermaid inspired earrings coming up next week.
I would like to do an emerald collection 🤔
Thank you Adrienne. Take a look at my vintage jewellery tutorials that I did last year.
Here's the earrings: ruclips.net/video/5S3KZgvIPnQ/видео.html
And the necklace: ruclips.net/video/JDxEW1Y6Fyg/видео.html
I absolutely love emerald and will be looking at how I can incorporate it more this year too.
Thanks for the awesome content! Do you have brand or store recommendations for good silver necklaces? Some are so cheap and crappy but others are expensive and hundreds of dollars. I like them in the $20-100 range but I can't tell what's legit by the photos.
Hi Chad, thanks for your comment. I'm sorry but I don't have any recommendation. We sell silver necklaces but not many. You can buy chain and a clasp and make them yourself. Here's a link to our chain. www.affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz/collections/chain. I hope that helps.
Can you use a pin/button blank as a broach blank or Starting pointcto turn into a broach? Or is there a tutorial on broached (thinking of one for my mom for Christmas she always loved broaches and well home made vs store bought always gets her happy.
Hi Mae, you can. You might find this video useful. I am planning on doing another brooch shortly. ruclips.net/video/RY6z4zITPD0/видео.htmlsi=SPO0p10ktv4fuNa2
I started making jewelry in 2000 and I find it amazing how cyclical trends are.
Thanks for your comment. I agree. Nothing is ever new, just reinvented.
Is there a tutorial for the bracelet you were wearing? That was cool
Thank you. I'm wearing two bracelets in this video. Here's the tutorials for both.

I volunteer at a charity resale store where we receive fabulous donations! Our jewelry gal vacations for 6 months so I am learning & loving this area. Are people wearing layered necklaces anymore? We were donated over 300 vintage brooches! Such fun & lots of collectors! I love to see several brooches on a jean jacket. I don't make jewelry, but try to keep up with our donations.
Hi Becky, yes, I believe that layered necklaces are still on trend. 300 vintage brooches! That's like my dream come true!
I would wear a bunch of brooches. I work with women who add as nany as they can to add to a required uniforn.
Thank you so much Andrew. I love that they add the brooches to a uniform. It shows individuality and that's wonderful.
Thrilled to find you. Are you in Australia or NZ?
We are located in New Zealand but we do ship to Australia if that’s where you are.
I would like to know about the earrings you are wearing
Hi Leslie, thank you for your question. You can find the tutorial for the Fan Earrings that I'm wearing here: ruclips.net/video/_6eNTRmSaoU/видео.html
These ones are super easy to make but look quite complex - I love that!
Let me know how you go.
Have you a physical shop in NZ or are you all online?
Hi Don, only online. If you have any questions you can email me at carol@affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz.
Mermaids come n trend & go out but have those who still love them...then they cycle back around. I have tons of mermaid stuff as I like them too...😉
Thanks so much for your comment. Yes, that's true, Mermaid does come and go. It's so fun.
I wear multiple brooches on my jackets all the time. The more, the better.
Thank you Esther - I absolutely agree. I love that.
And birds.
Thanks Dee.
Will there be a 2024 video? Or have i missed one?
Hi Mae, I will be doing a 2024 one in January. You haven't missed anything.
I like to wear brooches
Yes, me too. Thanks.
What about massive, not gem quality, emerald? Dark green, heavy, but rough impressions....
Thank you! And got me as a sub, too
Hi, thank you. Yes, that's a new trend too but I couldn't cover everything in my short video. Thanks for the subscribe and sorry for the late response. RUclips sent your comment to my "held for review" folder and I didn't notice it. Welcome to the community. Carol
Thanks for the reply...so if you had a graduated strand of this massive emerald material.....any suggestions? Weighs a ton.
@@ONAFIXEDINCOMEAlley-fz8tg Do you want to send me a photo so I can have a think about it. My email address is carol@affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz. Thanks.
How influential are films like Barbie in setting trends?
Hi Sallyann, to be honest, I've actually been avoiding it but we have been seeing a lot of pink showing up in the stores. I believe it will be quite shortlived, however.
Large statement earrings make me think 80s.
Thanks, Melanie. In the 80s they were different. I dressed up in an 80s costume a few weeks ago for a party and it made me realise how different our statement pieces were back then.
You missed the most important; natural stones! Amethyst, quartz, agate etc. huge statement pieces. And not forget the hippie culture is back and with that you get big pendants or chokers with stones, wood, leather etc.
Thank you for your comment. I only covered 12 of the trends, if I covered everything it would be a very long video. There are also different styles to be considered. I chose trends that went with my style and the jewellery I make.
Lots of brooches - animals, bugs or flowers.
Thank you so much Dee. I love brooches too. I've been collecting vintage ones for some time.
Jewellery is misspelled.
Hi Nancy, where I live this is how you spell jewellery. It is the Australian/New Zealand spelling, not the American spelling. Thanks for your observation though. Did you enjoy the video?
@Affordable Jewellery Supplies 😊
I loved this video.
The color mix Silver and gold is something I do daily .
I like colorful and statement jewelry. The heart and emerald trends stood out to me. 🩵🦋
Thank you so much. I love the hearts and emeralds best too.
No broches for me thanks😉
That's all good, Lyndsey. We are all different and have different opinions.
No balance, poor proportions....horrible designs....this is flee market junk. Do better!
Thank you for your comment, Kim.
It would have been nice to see the pieces as the focus instead of yourself as the focus throughout the video. Hope you take this comment as constructive rather than just being critical. I could not see most of the pieces without stopping and enlarging.
Thanks for your feedback. I really appreciate it. Most of the photos weren't great quality so showing them larger wasn't an option as they would have been blurry. I'll keep that in mind for next time I do this type of video. Always open to constructive feedback. Thank you.
@@The_Stylish_Maker Thank you for the explanation. Hope to see more trends soon
Misspelled jewelry. Jewellery wrong!
Hi Marilyn, thanks for pointing that out but where I'm from (New Zealand), that's how we spell jewellery.
