    I have a 2014 GMC SIERRA doing this same thing. I know eventually I’ll have to replace the condenser. But this stuff definitely works.

      I'm glad it is working for you. It only lasted 2 weeks for me... Gave out on a road trip... Luckily I threw the old can and hose adapter in the bed of the truck...

      Yeah I'm skeptical about doing it on my 2017 silverado with that same problem.

    I have a 2016 Silverado and this exact problem has been happening to me for a while. I would refill it with freon and it'll work for a while. Then it'll go out again. And now it's doing the exact same thing as yours! Blowing only hot air.

    • @tonysgarage2292
      @tonysgarage2292  2 года назад

      Did you use stop leak? And does yours have R134a or R1234yf? I'm afraid we both will have to inevitably replace or repair our Condenser.

      @@tonysgarage2292 R-134 a. And I did use a stop the leak but I feel as if it made it worse lol. I could just be tripping but now it blows only hot air vs before the stop leak it would blow neutral air. And yes unfortunately I think we are going to have to replace the condensers. I'm getting my replaced next weekend hopefully.

      @@tonysgarage2292 Yeah I have to do the same as well. I haven't had time to do it. But I'm in no rush it's starting to get cool here where I stay at. But I do need to take it in eventually.

      @tonysgarage2292 Thank you. I'll definitely take it to the dealership. I have an 8 hour drive coming up and no AC would really suck lol

      @tonysgarage2292  3 месяца назад

      @DARTHSKATER7 you're welcome. I tried this 2 weeks before a 6 hour trip and midway to the destination. I had to refill again... lasted rest of the trip. That Monday when we got back I took it straight to the dealer. R1234yf is too expensive for me to play around with changing the condenser on my own. Had it been R134, I would've changed it myself. It's a long process for something so simple.

      @tonysgarage2292 It amazes me how this defect is so widespread. I love my truck though. My display is also out right now due to an "update" that was pushed out. The screen was covered in Linux code and from my understanding it was looking for an update file. The dealership couldn't figure it out and just pulled the power smh. I could have done that myself

      I wouldn't recommend this it. It would probably be easier to buy the new reinforced condenser. But you maybe able to fix the Pin holes/crack.

    I have an 18 silverado that wont cool below 60 deg at the vent. I took it to the dealer while it was still under warranty and the said that is the way it is. Now its off warranty and not sure what to do.

    • @tonysgarage2292

      Hey J M, the Temp here is in the 100° range. When I first crank up and start my AC it is in the 60-70° range. After riding down the highway about 10 minutes the temperature coming from the vents get down into the 40. This is measuring with an infrared off in the ducts. I'm sure it's in the 50-60° degree range once it leaves the vents.
      Try running your AC in circulation mode and see if that helps it get cooler. This should help the temp get cooler even quicker as it's not trying to cool down the hot air from outside. The AC works it's best when the vehicle is moving. I hope this helps.

      @@tonysgarage2292 Hi Tony!
      So I take it that the initial recharge with the can of AC Pro R1234YF you used in this video is still doing it's job?
      If so that's awesome my friend.
      I am getting ready to pull the trigger on one of those overpriced 14oz cans.
      It definitely makes you think that R34a is about $6-$9 a can while R1234yf is $140-$150! Thanks for the videos!

    thanks for the video, Tony. I'm just now starting to have AC problems with my '17 Silverado. If I have to replace the condenser, do you happen to know the replacement part number that has the fixed issue? I'm concerned that a new one I buy will have the same thing wrong with it.

      Not very happy about these issues. Had it flushed and strainer replaced at 98K miles to get rid of the shutter. I don't know why they didn't change the torque converter out too... I'm at 108k and I think it's starting to slip... 100k warranty is up and I don't think they are going to fix it under warranty...
