You are just as great of a mandolin player as you are a guitar player. I love yours and Thile's album. Hopefully you guys will another one. Plus Critter's playing is just awesome!

P Washburn, this makes me sound like a real Thile nerd I know, but I know I saw a video of a workshop with Thile where he said he has the action set extremely low on his mandolin and plays extremely light to avoid fret buzz, most mandolins are set up with a higher, more "bluegrassy" action so they have more dry percussive bite to them, but I do like the sound of Dave's playing here, he can sure make that mando ring

Kind of a shame that Eldridge lives in Thile's shadow in Punch Brothers. I figured he could really play but he hardly gets a chance to. So it's great to hear him (and Daves too on mando holy shit) playing their fingers off. Awesome musicians, every last freaking one of them.

Yes, I had not idea he played Mandolin.....should have known. With all due respect his Mando is way louder than Chris Thiele's is........at least to my ear and the vids I've been watching. Could be this particular video and mic set-up etc, I suppose.

+Joseph Hartmann I believe that to be a Shutt-style mandolin made by Harmony, likely during the 1920's.
