Him and I share a birthday (same year and everything) and we are the same weight, but I’ve always been a couch potato so I look nothing like him. Seeing him has really inspired me to start turning my life around. While I’ll never be a word champion or an Olympian, I’m going to keep getting older and I want to be someone that I can admire, like Thicc Tao
Here's a translation of what Coach Yu said between the 2nd and 3rd attempts 9:06 Stop worrying! Focus! Just get the movement done, got it? 9:18 Engage (your body & mind)! [Can't understand the next sentence, maybe something supportive] (110kg snatch) 9:21 Yeah! (Tian Tao walking back) Wait, one more! Power snatch ! (110kg power snatch) 9:28 Yeah! 9:32 One more! 9:35 You gotta drive it high! Tempo! (130kg power snatch) 9:42 Yeah! 9:49 Jiayou! (150kg snatch) 10:00 Yeah! Stay calm, keep the tempo, that's it. Take a break, have some water 10:07 Have some water, let's go 10:15 Jiayou!
That's to rebuild confidence both mentally and physically. You can try it out for all things. When you failed to do something heavy, don't just stop there and move on to other exercise as you leave your body remembering the failure. Drop the weights abit, and rep it a few times so that your body only remember the times they did well.
The sequence from 9:00 - 10:15 is almost terrifying. I like to think there's an alternate timeline somewhere where Tian's thumbs are a bit longer and he can snatch 210
I don't do the Olympic lifts myself so I don't have direct experience with feeling how hand size affects the snatch vs c&j. Why do his small hands and thumbs matter much more in the snatch than the c&j?
Jimmy Zhu in the overhead position (snatch) lifters will let go of their hook grip and “relax” their wrists so the bar will sit further behind them. His small hands could make it difficult to keep the bar forward without it flying back out of his fingers when deep in an OH squat. Plus hook grip is harder to get into when doing a snatch grip from experience. Small hands don’t make it easier
It's a nod at an onterview with this athlete. He says he struggles in the snatch because he has smaller hands. A very minor detail that has big effect at elite level, it seems
beginner question: can they change the weight numbers live in the competition or do they have to give 6 attempt numbers before competition and stick to them?
Tian Taos consistency is very weird. In the 1st or 2nd attempts he fails but in the last attempt normally the heaviest one he magically just gets the bar over his head.
They're actually being pretty supportive, maybe surprisingly haha, telling him to not worry about the misses and just to focus up and do like he knows how to, and then they're mostly just helping to pump him up and encourage him
Tbh, those bar drops are way to carefull. I would have said 2/10, but giving that it is a comp setting, I agree to a 3/10.. But really, I would have expected more savageness and finesse from a world champion, whom might also just had a new haircut...

This is exactly what makes tian tao so thrilling to watch. Hes so inconsistent you never know what's gonna happen
he can go 2 out of 6 and still win. The only other person that can do this right now that I know of is Lasha, but for a totally different reason lol.

M it literally translates to “add oil” but it’s more of a supportive cheer similar to “let’s go” or “davai” in russian
Thank you very much. Very fun to read
Thank you!
Thank you!
That 3rd attempt.
I feel the pressure
Beast mode on after missing the 2nd attempt 😍😍😍

Bombareli thicc and angry. No one should mess with him.
Crazy they had him start back over at 110 before taking his 3rd!

@@jimmyzhu1741 cause of the wider snatch grip. Its harder to get the fingers all the way around for the hookgrip, especially for smaller hands
Meso and Tian Tao warming up next to each other.. is this heaven?
Tian Tao and meso hassona next to each other is video is🔥
2:11 this battle cry and team spirit is incredible
I love that during his warm up whenever he drops the barbell he slightly stop it
His shoulder looked like it kind of gave out after making 180kg.
some old right shoulder injury through out.
Tian came out a whole different beast on that 3rd attempt. Almost looked like a warmup.
This man deserves a cookie.
No - he deserves a box full of cookies.
He’s a badass
Our boy Meso in the back :)
misses 175 twice and then does 180. epic
Glorious slo-mo hair in the final snatch
Great videos!!
Did anyone else notice the bar drop ratings 😂
At 0:44 1:17 and 1:39
I just love those bar drop sounds 😍
The best fisherman.
不光是田涛,于杰也真的是顶住了压力啊,第三把试举前镇定的帮田涛找动作感觉
田涛早晚把于杰送进急诊室救心
George Kwok 哈哈哈😄
Thanks mate!
Professional Tian Tao 💪
Monster power
Tain tao done incredible , great person superb performance hats off
That one Chinese coach looks like he is going to kill someone at any minute. Hahaha
Bar clearance at 180 > warmups
Two thicc Bois in one shot
Was that 180kg a good lift?
Yes
Jesus how do i got this godlike flexibility and mobility for lets say weighlifters squat form
What tape is he using on his wrists?
beginner question: can they change the weight numbers live in the competition or do they have to give 6 attempt numbers before competition and stick to them?
The weights are declared as they go and in fact, can be used strategically to react/play mind games with the other athletes
Two thicc boi in single frame can u make it triple? Omg
I dont like that he dropped the empty bar
one day one day haha
That is a long warm up
10:53 these chinese coaches are intimidating af

sq rt of 2 / 10
wadu hek?
I dont get it
did he get any injuries after the 3rd attempt ??? My shoulders was hurt watching him
Nope he ended up winning with a 230kg clean and jerk after it
Small hands here too, def don't like the snatch 😂😂
Tian snatch is poor
Lol 97% of the world record is definitely a poor snatch
Tian tao has small hands. He said that's why he is better on C&J than Snatch
Ok cross shitter 😹
i am pretty sure this guy could not even do 80kg snatch
Damn, I knew how this movie ended and I still got nervous af
10:55 amazing overhead stabilization in that 3rd attempt
Yo, I see you in every fitness video man, you still lifting during quarantine.
This is goosebump-inducing stuff. Had no idea how intense he got between his second and his third attempt.
Its probably because this thing gave you the Corona virus. 🦇🦇🦇🇨🇳

Damn, he REALLY gave it all he had at the end. The bar traveled WAY higher than his warm-ups. That's true dedication right there.

10:18 180kg Snatch
That intro god damn.
5:35 that's my atg squat max he just yeet above his head.
Edit: and at 6:30 he yeets my deadlift max overhaed.

牛逼!
看田涛比赛太刺激了,手心直冒汗哈哈,感觉比他还紧张
What were those measurements out of ten whenever he dropped the bar
What a save on that third attempt!
I don't understand how his warmups look so good and so confident then past a certain weight everything just goes to pieces so quickly
Common thing among weightlifters i have same problem.
Дерево. Рвет в столба, смотреть не интересно.
You should wait for the Canon R5 when it comes out and shoot with it. The specs are ridiculous.
man i was kinda hoping his coach was saying some mean stuff because it sure sounded that way but then i scrolled through the comments
Interesting to see work around and prevail through his limitations
This is why you do waves yall. 12 minutes go down come back up. Gotta be in shape to do that.
Please make a Warmup Video with Shi and Li😱
0-180?? more like 0-170, 175x 175x, 110 - 150, 70, 180kg.
Every time he drops the empty barbell!!!
Dude at the back got hyped for about 2 secs.
TIL tian tao trims his hair with a barbell.
So much output towards that last lift
Unreal ..
Heart attack for sure!!
I am a powerlifter who dabbles in the classic lifts. Knowing how hard these lifts can be it never fails to amaze me how easy they make it look. 💪
Hope this dude wasn’t spreading his diseases everywhere. Cant be too careful around these things.
