Thank you for demonstrating how to style for muscular arms and shoulders. Most style guides don't include advice for women with athletic builds, offering only advice on complimenting the hips and bust of a triangle shape. The selection for each model was very flattering and the reasoning behind each pick was easy to understand. I also appreciate seeing these tips demonstrated on models that look like actual brides with real fitting challenges instead of universally slender professional clothes-wearers.
The bias towards the hourglass was very unprofessional and borderline offensive. However I was glad to see healthy models, and i appreciate your insight. All bodies are beautiful.
Wait?! You mean, *explaining* why it's working and using models over size 2?! What concept?! *Please! Do a reverse series. Like, use a dress and explain what it would do to a body.*
IKR?! She kept using positive adjectives whenever describing the hourglass shape. Using words like "beautiful" and "ideal". I thought I was being sensitive noticing the language
@@tebogonsibande3473 Nope I noticed it too. Almost put me off watching the video. She already thinks Hourglass is beautiful and the rest will just have to make do.
This is extremely helpful! Janita's opinions are indeed very different to the usual recommendations for body types. I'd love to hear what she would say to very tall and very petite girls. I'm 182 cm with a relatively short torso and crazy long legs. I'm really having a hard time finding dresses that look good on me.
The positives of an apple shape include that she is a super woman. She has large breasts and her body naturally protects her important organs such as where babies grow and internal organs are. We need to celebrate the positives of all shapes.
The second lady looks nice in her regular clothes, and great in her wedding gown. Apple-shaped women definitely have a challenge finding flattering clothes if they gain excess weight (which she has not).
Thank you for posting this video and clearly explaining the body types and styles. I'm a triangle body shape and it's so hard to know what would be flattering on me, considering most models and dresses seem to be geared towards hourglass body shapes. So helpful!!
I really hate how you said "here we have the beautiful hour glass shape" but with the other shapes you just said "here we have the apple shape" and same with the other shape, and continued to use beautiful only when talking about hour glass shape. All body shapes are beautiful not just the hour glass shape!!!
I can only guess what body type you have. Look, she is a stylist and a visual artist and she tells it how it is. Her job is to make women look beautiful on their wedding day. There is an actual biological adaptation to have a sort of feminine ideal that mirrors fertility. When women deviate from that ideal they objectively look less attractive. She is helping them to feel beautiful on their day in a classic feminine way. If you can't hear it like it is, then you should probably watch another page!
Ouch… this was horribly done. “We have a beautiful hourglass shape… then a triangle and apple shape.” 🙄 Triangle and apple shaped women are gorgeous. Don’t project your insecurities onto other women!
I don't what shape. I am? I tend to choose an Aline style. Big beautiful skirt sleeves since I have big arms. So I am big on top large in tummy area and hope. Very skinny legs lol
I’m an Apple. I would look 12 mo pregnant in a dress like that! Apple is all weight in the belly and narrow to zero hips. Bustling is usually smaller than belly.
That would be a rectangle shape and a sheath wedding dress would be best fitted for that body type. At the end of the day going for a dress fitting would be best!👰🏽
Please Please stop preferring one body shape over another. All shapes are beautiful.. Your presenters language called the hourglass beautiful and ideal more than once.. but not the other shapes. This whole video could of been done with so much more positivity and equality. I am an apple and presentations like this are why I and so many other women struggle our whole lives to accept our bodies, let alone think they are beautiful. Please try to do better.

Kibbe body types are more accurate, and it doesn't matter what your weight is. Your type stays the same regardless of weight.

If I wasn’t hour glass shaped I’d feel self conscious after watching this :(
Absolutely everybody type is ideal and beautiful!
I know. I felt like she was definitely showing some favoritism with the first model.

Exactly, she started off by saying beautiful hourglass shape and might as well have said, the unfortunate apple and triangle shapes too.
The second dress is amazingly done😍 I love the designer👍
Who is the designer if I may ask 🤗

Regrettably incorrect

I peeped that too and found it distasteful.
She said beautiful at the head of a list of 3 models. Could have meant it to be a qualifier for all 3.
The 2nd dress has pockets! 😍
Marnel is not an apple shape. She is a pear shape. She looks beautiful
You people who look like the rest of us thank you .
I don’t like that you said “we have beautiful hour glass shape & apple and triangle shape”
Love the advice thank you.

Came to this video for help left irritated. All bodies are ‘ideal’ bodies… what a mess.
I have between an apple / rectangle body. And I would never think to wear fitted clothing
Thank you so much fort this. I am apple shape and LOVE the two piece the girl who was apple shape was put into. What is this dress/two piece please? x
Thank you this was very helpful.
The dresses are beautiful and it's always a great thing to be fitted for your dress so you will look your best.
couldn't agree more! We have loads more videos focussing on wedding dresses Marcella, feel free to browse our channel! 😀
Can anyone provide a link or the name of the second gown designer I love it and can’t find it! Thank you
instagram.com/janitatoerien/ 😍
Thanks doe for the illustration. Very helpful
I've got broad shoulders, rectangle body shape, apple tummy
Great video and explanation of the shapes
I don't what shape. I am? I tend to choose an Aline style. Big beautiful skirt sleeves since I have big arms. So I am big on top large in tummy area and hope. Very skinny legs lol
Apple. Skinner legs compared to tummy is apple
Good sharing. Inspired me . TQ
Love your outfit 🥰

Why was the model with an hour glass shape put in an evening gown and not a bridal gown?
What shape is no curves? Skinny, slender & long. What style dress would be best?
That would be a rectangle shape and a sheath wedding dress would be best fitted for that body type. At the end of the day going for a dress fitting would be best!👰🏽
There is no ideal body shape. We need to stop this.
Like apple shape dress

Huh...never realized that the shape doesn't take into account the side and back.
Not sure why I’m here....I ain’t even dating anyone smh
Beautiful 🥰
Thank you, so kind
Too bad the inverted triangle is not discussed... 🤷🏻♀️
Yes, Pear shape is the most often more people
The mermaid is not good for pear shape????
Not really, it adds more to your hips when you want balance
@@JH-un8bo who says we want balance? Why not exaggerate what you have just like she encourages the hourglass to!
@@JH-un8bo where I am from, adding to the hips is wonderful.
Well, I wanted to see a human in the pear shape but nope. Waste of time.
What about a bigger bust?
The 3rd dress didn’t suit the model.
