Укроп не заменить луком. У укропа другое действие на кишечник. Он успокаивает, снимает спазм и газы. А лук наоборот раздражает, вызывает вздутие, газы. У тех кто имеет проблемы с кишечником.

If you grate the cucumber instead of slicing, and do white wine vinegar instead of lemon, it becomes Greek Tzatziki and you have it with pita bread and falafels. So healthy! I made it today and drank the drained cucumber juice with a shot of lemon, and half seltzer. Zipped me right up.

Cacik is more soupy and the cucumbers are sliced very small. This is more like an actual salad as it has thick yogurt (not much) and mostly only cucumbers. Cacik is often just eaten by itself too with a spoon. This is more like a classic cucumber salad as it’s usually made just like she did & with dill (like she showed). She just added some yogurt to make it creamy.

Dill is not a tropical herb. Here in the Philippines, one can never find dill in the local markets. It is hardly sold even in big supermarkets in Metro Manila - and mind you, I love using herbs when cooking, so I just use what's readily available (whenever necessary): lemongrass, basil, lemon basil, celery, chives, leeks, curly parsley, kinchay, dried bay leaves and driend oregano.
Otherwise, I simply make do with just the basics: garlic, onion, black pepper, chili and ginger.

We take it as a side dish at lunch, goes well with rice, flatbread or tandoori dishes. Pairs well with any kind of food. But avoid during dinner if you have tendency of catching cold.
