I'd feel damned proud if I knew 1/10 of what Ted knew about harmony.

"I'm Ted Greene, i'll just noodle away at these complex voicings while you all chat away"...."Anyone care to share what you're working on?" (while i field questions and play my complex jazz harmonies and counterpoint at the same time?).....Love ya Ted !

That smile on Ted's face says it all, doesn't it? The joy of discovery, and sharing what he's learned. I wish I could have met him.

Thank you SO much for sharing Ted's seminars, lessons, and live videos with the world!
    Best teacher ever!
BTW-- Steve Vai turned me on to Ted's CHORD CHEMISTRY book (via his website). I'm SO glad people are keeping Ted's mission alive.
I wish I knew about Ted 35 years ago. I'm just so grateful these lessons are available now. :)
    Thank you so much!

I was lucky to discover Teds books long ago, almost as long ago as I discovered Steve Vai (about 86' and 83' respectively). To this day I can still pull out any one of the three books I own and learn something completely knew to me. The wealth of knowledge in just one of those books is incredible.

Anyone here ever start trying to put together a song and within the progression you find a good change but it doesn't quite scratch the itch and you just feel like something else should be there even though what you have is decent??...?? I feel like if Ted green was there in those moments you could have a sit down with him for about 30 minutes he would figure out what that Harmony was that would scratch the itch. A chrd chemist and Harmony therapist for those searching for a new change.

He left us what imo have always been the best guitar instruction books.
Proud to say I still have the 3 I purchased in the late 80's.
That's not even close to the same thing I know, but those books did a lot for me and many of my friends too.

does anyone know what those chords for the turn around were? when he was playing the Em11 voicing then he went up the fretboard but he didn't explain the last few chords. Is he just playing 4minor away from each dominant chord?

  • @MrDizzyvonclutch
