Ted was not very well know as far as a performer...his main fact was thta he loved teaching, and at one point his sudents were among th ebest players in the United States ted only produced one reording cllaed Solo Guitar, and never wanted to record again. As you cna her form the vidoes, his stlye incopertes everything..his own accompanymnet walking bass lines, he cna play it all..yet he never considered himself a performer. ENjoy th elittle bit of video that exists of him playing....sadly there is vey ittle available..

I dont know what the policy about posting urls is but a quick google search will bring teds site right up. Its worth taking a look and spreading the word, because most people arent aware of the depth of Ted's stuff and the ease of accessiblity.

His guitar chords and voice leading were top class and he had all the shapes under his fingers so to speak. The legacy he left in terms of printed works is incredible and his books are so fresh and innovative even now. Rest in peace Ted

oh yes im aware of that, i read he used a pick for that part then put it down while only using his left hand for the walking bass line until his picking hand was free again haha. There's even a few snippets here when he explains Wes Montgomery's harmonic ideas...but I mean it's hardly anything considering there's so much of his chord/melody out there.

fun -reminds me of Leo Wijnkamp in '74
but all time best of this one (imho) is the one Guy Van Duser did in 1977, it blows the socks offa any other version and sticks much truer to Gershwin's timing.
