It’s as though Dodge doesn’t know its audience. I could be wrong but the main reason people buy the Challenger and Charger is the big V8. Most people complain about fake engine noise being pumped into the cabin so I just don’t get why Dodge think fake engine noise on an EV will be desirable?? 🤷🏻♂️

who exactly is the charger EV for? any traditionalist obviously doesn’t like it and I doubt anyone that actually wants an EV would buy an electric dodge.
I wanted a Dodge charger since 2017, I was saving up that entire time after graduating high school to get one, my goal at first was to save 15k to get a 2011-2014 used dodge charger, but that didn't come to fruition, well now it's 2024 and I've saved up a whole lot more. I then thought about the 2015-2023 model charger and I found some good deals online, but most are used with 50k-100k+ kms and you already know people are gonna be ripping on them, so I'd rather not by used. The way the world is going is towards EV, its inevitable, gas prices will continue to sore up high. I'd be a first time car buyer, the price does suck I'll give you that, but these new chargers I feel their styling will grow on people, they're not that bad I'm hoping we will be able to view the customizations on the dodge website soon according to colours /striping/rims from factory. The interior on these new EV chargers are really nice too, upgraded basically everything compared to the old chargers, I do like the older gen charger exterior styling a lot still, but I'm not entirely hating the new one either. Being EV it can still be better for the environment, a bit cheaper to 'charge' up compared to 'gassing' up. Less maintenance drastically, its gonna be mostly just Tires/Windshield Wipers/Fluids. Regenerative breaking will help your brakes last a lot longer. You can charge your car over night, and take it out the next day. I know the sound is very controversial for some, but as someone who was really wanting to have a decent sounding car I'm glad they at least somehow were able to add that in even if it is through a speaker, I'd rather have the feel of a gas car even though it isn't really. I think the biggest downside of the new chargers is the price tag, and how much they weigh. I can live around the whole EV aspect, styling, sound. However, to re-address the pricing, I do think it's not completely out of pocket though either because of how much they've upgraded, even bringing in AWD standard, Nav, upgraded screens/seats, ambient lighting/ panoramic roof. However, if all else fails and EV still doesn't float one's boat, they are coming out with the gas powered version as well! So there's always that as well!

Nice news segment Matt! I might have missed it if you already stated it, but did Dodge say approximately what the curb weight would be on the entry level Charger EV?
Thanks! They only list 5,838 lbs for both the R/T and Scat Pack. I would imagine there's some variation there so I'm not sure how precise that number is, but that's the preliminary curb weight they're sharing so far.
Do you think the regular Outlander will see the 2.5 replaced by the 1.5VCT?
It’s hard to say but if I had to guess I’d probably say it’ll adopt it.
have a great weekend as usual Matt btw have anything fun planned for this weekend also btw the Nilu hypercar has top speed of 248 MPH cool shirt as well which 2024 Pebble Beach/Monterey car week reveals are you going to be excited the most/the most excited about?
I hope you have a great weekend too! I’ll have to wait and see what shows up before I decide on my favorite Monterey car.
@@MattMaranMotoring i did since the Braves finally snapped there 6 game loosing streak and the Arizona Diamondbacks kicking the stuffing out of the Philadelphia Phillies which helped out a little bit more and the Seattle Mariners shutting out the New York Mets as well
I've been seeing the Dodge Daytona in my gym parking lot over the last week or two (manufacturer car). I heard it start up once and it was kinda interesting. I'd definitely prefer my cammed C6 over that though 😂
I'm sold . I like it a lot . Definitely reminds me of the vince Vaughn movie . Fully electric and it doesn't sound like a dyson.
You would pay this much for that turd?
@@DefinitelyNotYouThankGod it hasn't Even been released how do you know it's a turd? Lol I'm impressed by it. I love the way it looks, the power they are promising. I had 2 challengers. I have a 5.7 ram so I think I would really like an electric car and this one looks great to me.
@@TwoTimesRmediai do really like the little details about the EV. But it's pricing is too much. Although that's the first edition pricing
It'll be cheaper (hopefully) one that ends and the non stage updated versions come out.
Just praying the I6 will be cheap
@@lytatroan I really want the V6 hybrid variant . I'll wait to see how it goes but, I am still a fan . They haven't let me down when it comes to challenger and charger models from 2011 to today
Charger base one starting at more HP than Mustang GT - Wow! Wait a minute, how much heavier is the Charger compared to the Mustang GT? Its power-to-weight is going to be way worse than that of the Mustang.
Whoever buys an electric challenger needs electro therapy
Yeahhhh no. I think I’m good. Stellantis Charger can keep digital engine/exhaust noises. $61.5K for a base Charger is a hell no
I wonder how much the Charger is going to weigh?
@@z32luvr around 6000 lbs
Dumb. Should be Jetson sounds.
Any word on the Acura ADX? It’s probably the SUV I’m most excited about.
Acura has said it'll debut in early 2025, my guess would be at the new January Detroit Auto Show.
@@MattMaranMotoring That’s not too bad of a wait. Thanks for the quick reply!
The RAM 🐏 Classic doesn't look as "classic" as it use to. 🤔
Hope the charger has simulated gear shifts like the ioniq 5N
Me too!
V8 mopar guys are pissed about the top speed. It's faster in 60 100 and quarter mile time. Those things are what are actually practical when you drive in the city. What else do you want?
