I would say it is NOT a beginner’s camera, I have been a professional for over 25 years and use it as an A cam and love it. Even more than my FX3 which I sold 2 years ago.
@@OutofPocket005 Well for several reasons. When I had the FX3 I really never used 120p 4K nor 12,800 iso. I actually found the 12,800 ISO too much sometimes when I needed just a little more than 800 and had to go to 12.800 which made me use a ton of VND, If you shoot a ton of lowlight the FX3 makes more sense but I do not hardly at all. I also like the smaller / light lenses. I shoot mainly 60p almost 90% of the time and on my A7IV it would over heat all the time and was forced to use crop sensor anyhow. SO it just made sense for me to go with the FX30. Works for me. I also do a lot of social media videos and just shoot 16:9 and crop to 9:16 in post and the downsampled 7K on the FX30 is sharper than the 4.7K from the FX3 and works better for me. Even the A7IV was better than the FX3 for that. I am not doing Netflix movies and with my Tamron 11-20 2.8 and 17-28 2.8 I am pretty much covered from Wide angle (16mm) all the way to 42mm. I will be getting something around 35mm to cover me on the "longer" end but I also do not shoot much from long focal lengths,
My choice, regarding quality, was B camera (for many reasons, too long to list here). And I was not surprise to learn this angle was from the FX30, which I own and use with such pleasure, superb output, confidence my budget won't explode (last lens purchase would not have been possible if camera was a 24x36 sensor), "pro look" of the whole package (yes, it matters sometimes... to my biggest surprise, but I had to admit it !), expansion posibilities of this camera, ergonomics and UI, etc. Any company should have one, as an A camera for smaller ones, a B camera for bigger ones, a BTS camera for huge productions... it's a "Swiss knife" of a camera, that's worth all its price and look. Great video, great tests, great analysis !
Honestly, i couldn't tell the difference.. personally, i would choose Fx30 over A7iii for that 4k 120fps and unlimited recording capability.. i don't really mind the crop sensor
FX30 is a killer camera for production companies on tight budget. I have the A7SIII + A7Rv, but for streaming I can't trust A7Rv and it's mostly for photos.

It's a great camera for pros, good to hear you love it!
Why would you prefer the fx30 over the fx3. Makes no sense to me
@@mac24x7 It only needs to make sense to me...
@@ekphotographyI'd love to hear your reasons. Because I also prefer it.

To be honest, your B cam footage looks better 😁
That was the FX30

That's a great combo! I've been thinking about getting that streaming setup.
@@judsonrobertson FX30 is a beast for streaming, you can't go wrong with internal cooling.
