Jazz masters Kesivan Naidoo and Kyle Shepherd discuss how Jazz is performed in Cape Town, incorporating local influences into their sound and performances!
Most definitely! Incidentally, if you want to check out videos for Gospel music lessons, check out this lesson Damien Sneed did for us: ruclips.net/video/SepVdCiM2ek/видео.html
+Jazz at Lincoln Center's JAZZ ACADEMY Yep, already have! Thanks for the great stuff, I really appreciate the effort put in all of the videos on this channel.
Where oh WHERE can I get that ghoema track? Those are some of the most beautiful piano chord combinations. That style of playing, particularly the bass chord choices on the piano starting at 9:30, is what I associated with Cape Town Jazz piano style. I really want that song!!!
Interesting listening. Thanks. 'Stray Bullets' very evocative and haunting; super-satisfying when the Goema groove of 'Camissa' comes in. Thanks for the post... so reminiscent of Cape Town. 🌄
Please tell me where I can get the name and artists of the original song that they used for the ghoema demonstration? You call it "camissa" but I can't find it anywhere, I absolutely love that piano!
Brings back memories of PenTech 1986,we used to jam at UWC with Robbie Jansen etc, i can smell the salty air, snoek, curry good jazz God bless
great. loved it. loved the brushes - brilliant.
That was incredible. I could taste some of the gospel influence.
