When they started off they were a hip pop group, but have grown to cover many genres. They are very versatile.
They write, compose, and/or produce their own music. They do have some producers come sometime but they are always involved with everything they put out.
They touch on a lot of important topics such as: mental health, bullying, regret, follow your dreams, self love, etc.
Most of their music that ever sounds like a love are almost all the time them singing to their fans. They love and respect their fans (ARMY) a lot.

Also you can make your videos about BTS however long you want and we will watch. Sometimes trying to watch the video and read the lyrics can be hard so I recommend watch the video first then rewatch it again a second time for lyrics.
Few things - all their MVs have subtitles so make sure to listen again because the lyrics are a very important part of their artistry. The guy who you said you saw in a movie is a very well known DJ called "steve aoki" and lastly, they have a lot of stamina because they practice 12-16 hours a day and some members practice their singing whilst running on a treadmill since ALL their performances are always live, they never lip sync. I'm 49 years old and a year ago I saw BTS on RUclips and saw and heard their songs, at first it was normal but after a long time I became fond of them. Their voices are unique and cannot be imitated. Their songs make me happy. 💜

Fun fact about their mvs: they use practical effects 90% of the time, so the explosions are actual explosions. In one of their videos they dropped a car from a crane, it was crazy.

They can dance since 2013 and even way before that (2010) ever since they were trainees and ever since J-Hope being a street dancer and Jimin being a student in contemporary dancing. So happy people finding about them and taking the time to be open!!! 🙂

Its not too weird to like a song that you can't understand the words if you think about it, music is universal. How many people loved despacito who didn't speak Spanish back in the day?
I thought it was super cute that when you paused during the chorus to say " I like it but I've only understood mic drop", all of it was in English. (The entire chorus and the part where namjoon (rm) comes out if the ambulance is as well) be sure to turn on CC, they have incredibly meaningful lyrics, and the rap stuff that fires back at haters has amazing word play!
I liken it to hearing rap god by Eminem when he goes really fast, idk wtf he was saying at 1st it was so fast I couldn't catch it.
You should react to Daechwita by Agust D (he's suga from BTS, the 2nd rapper in this mv) the visuals and rap are fkn stunning! And he goes hard. Maybe check out fake love, on, oh if you'd like a sample of their discography check out the live BTS room festa where they do a sample of songs from various albums. They are so versatile!
ETA: if you think their stamina is great in mv's, checkout their live performances! On asian award shows you can see them do this live for like 40 minutes, it's insane. It's so hard to sing perfectly while dancing even easy choreos, and this isn't even their hardest. Oh yeah another recommendation, BTS not today. Mic drop was inspired by Obama's speech where he dropped the mic. 💜 Oh and we are happier if you compare them to Jackson 5 (MJ obvs inspired them) than backstreet boys which is some Americans try to compare them too. Fun fact they broke MJ 's 32 year record! And their mv dynamite (1st all English song ) was inspired by MJ and mjs nephew reacted to it and tweeted about it, giving them props)

When Suga( the grayish sliver hair guy) was rapping it looks like you might have thought he said the n word. He didn't. Thry have a word neaga( I think that's how it's spelled) it means I or I am. So they aren't being disrespectful to anyone. It does close to the n word. RM has said in an interview that they are looking into a different they can use instead of neaga because they don't want to disrespect anyone. RM is the leader. He learned to speak English watching the TV show Friends. You should react to Butter and Dynamite if you haven't. Those songs are completely English. Welcome to BTS! You don’t need to know the words to vibe with the song. But there are captions on most music videos and videos about them. Just not the English auto-generated ones. Also some live videos don’t have captions. That’s BTS amazing talent, to not know any words, and still like the song. The visuals are amazing in every single video, some people watch the video, then go back and read the lyrics. Because trying to do both is very hard, because there is so much going on! BTS is group of 7 men who are in their 20s (more specifically from 23-28). Jin (stage name for Kim Seokjin) is the oldest and Jungkook (stage name for Jeon Jungkook) is the youngest. BTS stands for "Bangtan Sonyeondan" in Korean, which is "bulletproof boy scouts" in English. There are 3 rappers (RM, Suga, & J-Hope) and 4 vocalists (Jin, Jimin, V, & Jungkook). They have a huge international fanbase called "ARMY" from all around the world. BTS is so versatile and they have many, many different genres of their song that literally "BTS is a genre themselves". You will see just as how talented they are in singing, rapping, and dancing along with amazing performances. But aside from their stage side, they have such an amazing personalities that you'll grow to love because they can literally be adorable crackheads!

Lol captions. Glad you love them without even having captions. Their videos and lyrics have a lot of hidden meaning. RM and Suga so most of the writing. Especially in the the beginning. Watch Blood Sweat and Tears and pay attention to the painting at the beginning. They are even better live.
This is a song where BTS is aggressively addressing their haters. (Represented by the guys in the hoods throwing smoke. Notice they later fall out of the sky while on fire.) To all those people who said they had no talent and they would never make it because of their poor background they are saying, “ we sell out all our concerts, and by the way look at all these trophies I got here in my bag.” Then at the end they’re saying,” just live your life and don’t concern yourself with us.
