Going to see if I can set up a light painting event in my town with some photographers and artists and even just people that want to have fun and try out their skills because of how easy it is to capture the light like this! Thank you!
Well brother I know your probably not the first to do this but good lord you just brought a new hobby I think into my life this is genuinely something comepletely unique
I follow you on Instagram. My mind is completely blown by what you do. Now I’ll follow u here. This tutorial is wonderful. I’ll never achieve your level, but I’m going to give it a try with simple shapes!
Great question! Yeah, I find that sometimes when I light paint in snow or even an enclosed space the light can reflect off surfaces and unintentionally light me up. I attempt to limit this by being as precise as possible with my directed light, keeping my other hand in a pocket, and wearing dark non reflective clothing. Every now and then my face is revealed in a light painting but I can’t tell until it’s printed large 👻👀!
A camera is like an eye. How longer the eye (shutter) is open, the more light. Thats why light is important. In the dark, the camera catches the light, but then you walk through it, you dont have enough light for the eye to see. This is also possible with a mobile phone, but yeah... need to be even more creative. ;)
When you paint the camera is continuously taking pics? Or are you snapping the shutter with the remote as you paint? Or is it like a video lol. I dont get it!
The shutter is open the entire time you're drawing with the light. This essentially means that you're just taking 1 very long picture. @@riveradrew2153
@@riveradrew2153 You put the camera in bulb mode in this mode you press the shutter and it will remain open until you decide. So when it's open you light paint, and when you are done you release the shutter and it will close and the picture is taken.
This "tutorial" seems to omit key information. When do you activate/deactivate the shutter? Is it better to wear dark clothing? What post-processing is needed?
It's gotta be pretty basic for the 2 min mark. At the 1 minute mark in this video it goes over using a remote to trigger the shutter, this is the start/stop of the long exposure. And yes, it's better to wear dark clothing. Maybe I'll do another more advanced light painting video that goes over the editing process, but that would be more like a 5-10 minute vid.
You having only 11k subscribers is a SHAME. Im buying a camera specifically to do this. Youve inspired me unimaginably.
It is a shame! I’m happy to have inspired you though! 🙏💫
From indonesia 🇮🇩, im buying camera next month because of you also
He has 1.2 million followers on IG
20k new followers in only 3 months though is impressive

Really nice to hear that, and best of luck on your new venture! It was like magic to me, long ago.. Still is!
Love your work! Been following for a long time. Thanks for the tutorial!
Thanks for watching! 🙌
I'm a big fan of your art for quite a while now. Thanks for this video

wow this is honestly amazing and im slightly obsessed now lol i absolutely have to try this!!!
Im really amaze by your light painting. I wish i could do the same but my problem is i can't make good drawing. 😩
I started with stick figures. Doesn't have to be fine art to start with, just something you like!
I saw on IG, I wondered, came here. Thanks for this video 😊 Guess I might level up this skill
Very cool. Do you ever find that you have shined too much light on yourself and you end up being in the picture? How do you avoid that? Thanks.

but how come the camera didn't capture you also ?
i don't have a camera so i don't really know how it works....just wondering 🤔

The GOAT
Will you announce on Instagram when the light pens will be available.
Yes I will, but my mailing list (dariustwin.com) will be the first to get a heads-up!
Thanks for the tutorial! any recommendations for cameras? nothing crazy expensive
Beautiful!
How often would you click the button?
When will more light writers be available?
saw your IG page and came here
Me too😍
When will the pens be coming so you think
Probably around the next total eclipse.
love it!
How do you do the light painting and then in the finished picture you aren’t in it?
is it a paper in your left hand?
Thank you brother!
That's really cool
How do you not show up in the photo?
