- These are fake Splatoon Joycon that actually work! Usually you have to buy a brand new Nintendo Switch OLED hybrid handheld gaming console in order to use these but I found these on Amazon! They have gyro motion controls, rumble, and they can be used wirelessly or in handheld mode. This is my unboxing, first look, and first impressions review of these Nintendo Switch controllers.

Yeah everyone knows the real has that factory shine that costs a little extra to manufacture. Fakes use cheaper parts and plastics and paints and stuff.

The fake joycons can be identified as fake several ways. No HD rumble, amibo support, can’t update joycons no Nintendo trademark on back of joycons hope this helps

Nintendo should REALLY sell special edition joycons separately

@@Me_Myself_Maly You know, they’re bigger right now than they’ve ever been. They’re smart as hell, I’m sure they know what they’re doing. Between the huge Mario movie, working on a sequel, opening a theme park and having Zelda at an all time popularity and the hit Animal Crossing game, I honestly think they’ve got it figured out and they have some really experienced professionals making these decisions for a reason.
Damn I already bought the oLED model for the controllers lol.
The oled is still great though, would reccomend.

I got the same one with lcd lights and extra buttons
I brought a pair and the rumble is pretty awful, which is to be expected. It makes games like Smash unplayable because the rumble is always on maximum power. But, everything else is identical.

@@jamezgaming9061 Usually games let you turn rumble off in the menu or settings/options. If the option isn’t available, you can go to switch home, then go to system settings, controllers and sensors, and turn vibration off from there.
Now i'll be curious to disassemble them to see if the inside pieces are the same or almost identical

Honestly I feel like every joy con has a sort of texture when you first get them, but over time they smooth out

To test HD rumble you can use Super Mario Party, as it has a minigame where you need to memorize a rumble feeling that's paired with a certain enemy
Ooo good call. But I’m pretty sure HD Rumble is proprietary. Idk. I don’t think there’s any way these have HD rumble

I actually found the real covers for the switch and joycons online, and I just tinkered the old covers off and then put the new ones in, and just to say, *the process can suck*

I obsessed over my TV purchase looking at the milliseconds - meanwhile I went to my friends house and he didn’t even have game mode on - just you press A and the action happens 5 seconds later and he’s just living his life this way didn’t even notice… wth

@@scratchersMIT Wow thank you so much! Yeah on TikTok it doesn’t pause. Idk if RUclips does that for you but on my iPhone it has a delay when RUclips shorts loop. I had to find a song that was repetitive enough that it could work looped. But also the music stops when I go Woahh so that allows me to jump a little in the song so that it lines up the ending and beginning of the video. I didn’t need to especially considering how long it took me to edit the video but I guess I like doing things the hard way lol

I got identical ones from Amazon, but they have since been delisted. The only issue I have with them is the right one is a little tighter fit on the Switch OLED rail. They were around $36 so can't complain too much.

I love that clicking sound... Any switch owners know if that's the sound they make or just an effect that was added when the video was edited
When the Switch is awake, it does make that sound from the speakers when you attach the Joycon - but this sound effect was added in editing. It's also the sound effect Nintendo uses at the beginning of its Switch game trailers.
Honestly I forgot it makes that sound IRL when you attach the JoyCon. I thought I was being creative by adding it lol.
Plus, the fakes ones don't have joycon drift 😂

I'm so glad this video was recommended to me since I was gonna use my Christmas money to buy the knockoff ones, I had no idea they only came with the OLED Switch. I might buy them anyway though since they're $40 cheaper than actual joycons🤣

The fakes ones motif is a bit offset, on the right controller arround the + button the drawing is sticked to the button while on the og one there's a little gap on both mine and the video one

The fact I needed to get new joycons because I putted soup on the original ones on accident and I have the exact same splatoon controllers but much more purple on the bottom I can’t tell if it’s fake or not I got mine off amazon
If you can’t tell if they’re fake, that’s a good sign! If they work just like the real thing then I would say you’re good! Now I know JoyCon don’t like soup 😭 🍜

Hey I got those type of joy cons not the Zelda ones but the same brand I got purple and orange and they are amazing if you had your Nintendo switch for over a couple years get these joycons I got them for $50 and are like read joycons if you guys want I’ll review them

the problem with those joycons is they sometimes lag when You use them while they are charging docked, if You wanna use them, You need to make a full recharge and don't use them while they are charging on the switch

Is there a way to test if the joycon is real or counterfeit? I bought the Splatoon OLED as a Christmas present to myself but when it came it was the Japanese version (fine) and box was not sealed.
Looking at the video my yellow green joycon seems to have the darker markings but that could be due to camera.
If they are like mine, they won’t be smooth and they will have that painted on spray paint texture. Fake ones definitely won’t have amiibo support and HD rumble.
@@switchunboxing do the legit ones feel like the back of the switch tablet? Controllers are definitely smoother but I'll test the IR tomorrow since I'm terrible at telling with the rumble.

Well the best ones are gonna be the ones straight from Nintendo cuz they have better build quality and has HD Rumble and Amiibo support and less lag but it’s cool that they have these replicas
I do have the knock off white joycons and the left controller reported to the switch as neon blue before It reported as white

Hmmm I don’t know much about Just Dance can you tell me your concerns specifically? As for battery life I was going to test for you that’s why I took so long to reply but honestly I’m not going to even try because these JoyCon kind of lag when used wirelessly and I don’t like lag!

HD rumble on official hardware isn't that great anyway. I know it was super hyped with, "you can feel the icecubes!!" But it's just a generic rumble feeling.

i got these, my only complaint is the buttons feel SUPER off (especially the z buttons, id be accidentally squidbagging when im trying to swim) but id say these are pretty good and have little to no drift !

@@switchunboxing Oh boy, I got the knock off ones and jeez they are very different to use in game, the controls are pretty stiff and after about an hour of use, at least mine started reconnecting while in handheld mode and heavily delaying inputs (to be fair the reconnection happens to my official switch joycons to but not nearly as much 😅) $50 was not the best price to pay for these but I had a gift card so not much lost. Tho I’ve found $30 joycons with much better feel, kinda disappointed ngl 😅

They have a tiny amount of lag it seems but it’s only problematic lag when used wirelessly. My left trigger doesn’t move but still registers the press. Didn’t have this trigger problem on my white ones. I would expect there to be variances in quality control.

If Your joycon has no IR Camera it's fake. Also rumble would feel like a spinning rumble like what's used on dualshock controllers

I haven't used these specific knock offs, but my fake ones have minimal drift after a year vs my real ones that became completely unusable
