Everything you mentioned about the og split pad i also experienced. I gave mine away because i hated them so much. Seems like the compact adresses just about every issue i had with the original. I just might check them out! Great video dude
Thanks man yeah I think it’s great they must have listened to the feedback because it’s like they fixed almost every issue I had haha. I know people don’t like the lack of rumble and Amiibo though!
@@manda_maee Thing is, Amiibo and HD Rumble are proprietary Nintendo patents so as long as this controller is officially licensed, it won't have those things. 😭
I love the shape of the Compact! I always thought that the Split Pad Pro looked too big while the Joycon feel too small (I have to play with a grip if I'm playing more than 20 mins or so). Great video! And fantastic thumbnail 😎🤘
Thumbnail remains to be seen haha. Might swap it out after awhile! Yeah the Split Pad Pro was always a weird shape honestly. I’m glad they kept working at it.
@switchunboxing oh it is and I recommend it. Although I know you are more a fan of the compacts. They have a totk spc but you have to get it imported from Japan. Idk why they haven't brought it to the US market yet 😕
I wonder if anyone else has had this feeling: I am using the split pad pro and I am getting the feeling there is ever so slightly a lag in button presses
Aww yeah I remember my Pros did that but I felt like the compacts were much better. If you’re in the return window maybe try swapping em out. But otherwise yeah that kinda sucks. Hopefully it’s not too noticeable during gameplay though
Im wondering if any hori gamepad have same stick potentiometer as original Switch pro controller? In case if theres problem on it or otherwise I should avoid third party controllers brand
I’m not sure what that is, and Hori says they don’t have an answer but that comparisons have shown their stick functions the same or better. In my experience like I mention, I find there to be a bit of a dead zone on the Hori. I don’t think I notice it so harshly on the Nintendo Pro Controller.
Well, the switch itself is slightly wider then the dock itself, every accessory is outside the dock anyways. And since the Pads aren't taller then the switch itself there is nothing interfering with the dock at all

They should make ones that have amiibo and rumble and call them the split pad compact plus

Excellent review! Thanks for such a thorough and detailed analysis! I agree with you, the Gengar ones look awesome!! 😍
Thank you! I’m naturally detail oriented, so I’m rolling with it lol. Love those Gengars! Now I need to catch one.
Dude. Both of those look FIRE 🔥🔥🔥
Team Gengo

getting my compact tomorrow
Ooo which design
The new back texture they have there on the Compact is easier to clean than the Honeycomb ones on the Pro. Good design imo.
OH YEAH I could see that for sure. Ew I’m imagining some chocolate or something lol. Yeah that would be way better to clean great point.
I'm enough for pikachu so I'll buy a gengar one thanks for the video
The Gengar one looks so good!!!
Im hoping to get myself those gengar compacts soon 🙏 just got a tears of the kingdom themed split pad pro earlier today lol.
That TotK SPP looks pretty sick tbh

@@TheInfiniteNine Yeah those are tight!

I hadn’t noticed but hopefully some others can chime in if they have.
Quick question. Has anyone ever experienced drift with these?
I bet so. I haven’t though.
@@switchunboxing thanks for replying 😊. Have a great day.
@@bridavis5487 you too have a great week!
i have the gengar ones but they wiggle a little bit feel like they are a little loose

@@switchunboxing hey man nice video btw it shows that you’re passionate about it, but yea u have the pros and the stick to the switch like glue
@@pbasparta Thank you! Oh I guess it just depends on the unit you get then
@@switchunboxing yea but i saw a video on how to fix it with some electrical tape so i’m good
@@pbasparta Hey whatever works huh!

Could you still place the switch on the dock with the Gengar joycon attached?
Absolutely you can!

Do they have deadzones like the pro ?
Yup
