You are welcome and thank you! I am glad to hear that the video helped. I just posted an update video showing some of the modifications I have made and how ill be running it in the 2022 season.
Good review of the Dryad Killdeer. One thing for you to consider. Try putting your tether at head height, to the left side of the tree, and cinch it down. Now the weight of the rope will be pulling against itself keeping it in place. Then adjust the prusik so it is snug when sitting. That way the hunter can't fall below the seat. When the tether is at waist height, it tends to slide down easier as it did in the video and the hunter can fall further, which is going to be a little painful and may be harder to get back on the stand. Hope this helps. Hunt safe so you can hunt again.
Thank you for the positive feedback and the tip. I am going to try that and girth hitch the tether to the tree. That way I can change to the mini drey on the fly when I want to use the .5 as a saddle platform.
I know it’s been a while and you probably have your system down but I put my tether through the eye loop twice and synch it down. It keep the tether from falling but is lose enough for adjustment if you wanted to run your saddle. Just thought I’d throw that out. Great review I watched it probably 10 times before I purchased it. You should get commission! Haha. Be safe and good luck the rest of the year!
Tip, if you girth hitch the main loop you have on tether it will stay tight to tree.i see your figure 8 8" loop has room to fold over for a girth hitch
Where the tag end of the rope sticks out of the rope that forms your loop on your tether tie a stopper knot just in case that figure knot that forms the loop slips
I walk in with the harness on but not the leg straps. I just keep them in the little belt pouch and put them on before I climb up. The leg straps do hang down so I think it would be annoying but you could.
I agree. I typically keep the opening on the side of the tree and that does a good job holding it tight to the tree. I was thinking of adding a another prusik knot to help out.
I found an awesome way to keep your tether tight from a saddle RUclips video. Before you run your tether around the tree you do this. Put your hand through the sewn eye and grab the rope and pull say six to eight inches through the eye and this will create a loop or eye. Now run your carabiner and prusik around the tree and put it through the new loop you made. This creates a girth hitch and your tether will not slide down the tree at all. It is amazing and once you try it you’ll be doing it that way forever guaranteed. Stay safe
This is the first review of this system I’ve watched that really answered all of my questions about how it worked. Thank you

This was a great video. Simple, yet thorough and to the point. Thank you!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
Came for the Killdeer review. Subscribed for the luxurious beard. Great video
Lol thanks, man! Much appreciated.
I just did a follow-up video on the killdeer a few weeks ago going over how I set it up for deer season this year.

Man I need to do more tree stand hunting this year
Do you use a blind?
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I mostly use a ground blind but I have a summit climber I use sometimes
Excellent review!
Thank you!
Wrap your tree tether around the tree twice, it will help hold it up and shorten it a litle bit.
Thanks for sharing the tip. I ran this harness all season last year. Great for tree stand hunting!
Great video and information on the belt. Use something like that in the military. Just don't fell asleep. No shoulder straps. Lol.
Thanks man! Yeah, no cat naps with this harness.

Thanks for the tip. I'll add that, but I'm constantly checking my ropes and knots before climbing.
Can you just walk in with the harness and leg straps? Is it comfortable to walk in?
I walk in with the harness on but not the leg straps. I just keep them in the little belt pouch and put them on before I climb up.
The leg straps do hang down so I think it would be annoying but you could.
Is the sizing pretty spot on? For instance, I’m a 36 inch waist. Not sure if I should go medium or large.
It's spot-on, but there is room for adjusting.
Is their any Molle straps built into the harness
Yes. On the very top of the belt there is molle webbing.
Just got mine....wstch the slack you have behind you on tether less is best.

What is the name of that pouch. Thank you
That was just a small one-off Amazon. I ended up swapping it out for the Burr Pouches that Dryad offers
How do you keep tension on your tree tether so it doesn't slide down?
Typically I position it on the side of the tree, which usually does the trick, but I might add another prusik knot to help.
Look at Flexi ohm tether locker ffom innovating the outdoors pretty cool
Thats nice! Thank you.

Thanks for adding this comment.
I started running mine like that as well and used this method all season and it worked great. I
