AWESOME VID! I’m not much of you-tuber here but , had to post comment. I’ve had countless hours researching a better setup for Hang & Hunt stand setups after making way too much noise trying to hang stand in new honey hole during rut with regular hunting harness; hands tied up moving lanyards and ropes that tangled, sticks clanking around, sweating, etc.. Ordered this same setup instantly! Also, like video you did on your mobile setup, helped me out greatly as I just switched away from climbers this season! Good luck with your season, shoot straight!
Thanks for taking the time to leave this encouraging comment. I appreciate it! Sounds like you’re on track to slip in nice and close and get the job done. Happy hunting and stay safe 👍
Nice review! I have one of these for the same purpose. I had a few rolls of camo tape that sticks to itself and is sort of rubbery that I wrapped the metal rings with. It works great and also silences them when you clip a caribiner to them. I use it on all my hunting shackles, rings, and carabiners.
Thanks for the tip! That’s exactly what I settled on and use myself. I also found it helps tremendously with the sound dampening. I appreciate you checking out my video! 👍
This is the fourth hunting season I've been using that exact same harness and I love it. I used it this summer putting the new roof on my new house and it saved my life a couple times. I wrapped the d-rings with black electric tape to cut the shine and also reduce any metal on metal noise from the caribiner clipped into it. I'm not sure how much that increases my scent signature. For me the biggest con is that I can't get it into my little washing machine like I can a typical hunting harness. I've just been spraying it, but after the roofing job I'm sure it needs a wash.
I opted to go with camo cloth tape also vs painting the d-rings. I agree it dramatically cuts the noise! Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment 👍
Thank you for sharing this information. You did a great job. I've been looking into a hybrid situation combining a harness system with my treestand so that I can us the stand as a platform for the times a deer moves past me in an area I can't shoot it from my stand but can if I use the stand like a saddle harness. Please keep sharing.
I used my Canon SL2 as the main camera and a Victure action cam as the secondary. I hunt with my bow during archery season but use flintlock and inline muzzleloaders, rifle and shotgun in other seasons. Thanks for watching 👍
Thanks for sharing. I like the thought of not having the tether in your way. I'm planning to use a saddle at some point. Looks like the same concept. Thanks again
I have the same harness and can attest that it is Very comfortable. I just sewed up a sit drag that affixes to my tether and it allows for a longer sit as well. Great video brother.
You should check out the tengu saddle. It's made to be lightweight and all the side ds and loops are reinforced rated webbing so theres no glare or clanking noises. Theyre made to be super comfortable for extended periods and lightweight.
Hi again. I have a couple questions. Do you use the xben harness as your primary saddle and do you think the waist belt on the xben could be used as a molle style support belt for a portable stand? Thanks.
I don’t use it as the saddle. I use it primarily as my safety harness while hunting out of a stand. I do however suspend myself in the harness while hanging stands which works great. Not sure it would work too well as the waist belt for your stand because it is a step through harness (the buckles only adjust the waist belt/ won’t totally disconnect) if that makes sense.
Thanks for the review, I have been looking at their pro model or a notch sentry saddle harness to climb and cut a fee trees on my property. Their pro model looks comfortable.
Another very nicely done video sir. I have thought about that since switching over to a saddle to hunt out of last year. All the saddle guys say don't hunt out of the harness, but I am not sure that I can find a good reason why? I am happy to hear you say yo uaare going to paint the shiny black, I would do the same. Thanks for sharing and I Hope you have a blessed week. Keep up the fun videos. Dale
I should have been more clear but I often hunt out of a hang-on and use the harness for safety. I think saddles have their place and don’t think this would necessarily replace them if you are planning to hunt exclusively from a suspended position. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate your support 👍
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial Oh no, you didnt imply it, Im just watching you with it, thinking I bet it would work. Yes sir I added a hang on this year, so I will use both, the hang on for the long all day hunts and the saddle for the short day run and hang days. But no sir, you did great on the video and was clear.
Good morning. Im just wondering ...your attached to the tree in front but in my ladder stand the tree is behind me when Im sitting. Does that create any awkwardness.
No, I thought of it since, I should have further demonstrated sitting in a stand (ladder, hang on, or climber) and how the tether would hang around you’re waist and back to the tree. No discomfort for me at all. Thanks for watching and have a great day!! 👍
I'm also interested in this method but am wondering how you have it attached. So you have the tether attached in front and then the tether hangs next to your waist and around to the tree in back? Is there anyway to attach the tether to the back of the harness? Like the video and am interested in an alternative to my safety harness.
Good review, I've considered those for a while.. and was gonna pull the trigger this year but lost my spot to hunt.. not a whole lot of time to scout public.. so IF I go I'll probably ground hunt. Great harness...
Good Morning, Thanks for posting the review. I have hunting from climbing stands for years and am looking to make a change. Would you be able to speak toward comfort? I think i am like most guys I hunt in blocks of time and typically stay on stand for large chunks of time. How comfortable is sitting in a saddle all day? Do you feel pressure in your lower back? I don't think i have time to get into saddle hunting for this season however, i do plan on getting into saddle hunting for next season. Thanks,
Honestly I use this more as a harness while hunting out if a hang on or hanging stands. Guys do use this as a saddle and I think it would work especially if combined with a sit/drag. However with that said I find it extremely comfortable for several hours at a time. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it 👍
just bought one after this video! I have been wanting to saddle hunt for a while now. this looks like a pretty good one. Do you use a sit drag to accompany this harness.? and do you ever use spurs to climb?
I don’t use spurs (I don’t have any☹️) I usually use this harness with my hang on as my safety harness. I think it would be a great setup with a sit drag! I hope you have a great season. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it 👍
Since the time you posted your reply have you discovered a way to use this saddle with a sit drag? I just canceled my order for a $250 Cruzr saddle and will somehow use my sit drag with this climbing saddle. I see lots of guys doing DIY mods on the sit drag, but I’m looking for a way to use my sit drag with this climbing harness. You had any luck yet?
I have worn the harness over insulated bibs and I’ve also worn it under my bibs and brought my tree tether out the zipper. Both ways seemed to work for me. Thanks for watching 👍
I just returned a Black Diamond climbing harness - no rings to attach lineman’s rope. I am ordering this XBen tonight. I also have a sit drag. Do you know of any demo videos where hunters have combined the XBen with a sit drag?
I don’t know of any demo videos with that combo. Should work well. The XBen being the safety harness while the sit drag acts as the saddle. You could even leave the tree tether long enough to hook to your bridge and the tail end could hang down and hook to the belay loop on the front of the harness 👍
HuntingFarmer Appreciate the help. This morning I found a video by DIY Sportsman that showed exactly what I was thinking. I think four years ago when he made his video three point climbing harnesses were either hard to find or too expensive. Thanks again for the inspiration.
Garret has a ton of great ideas!! I recently made a DIY saddle that I have been playing with along with a homemade platform. I’ll make a video at some point. Thanks for watching my video! I appreciate it 👍
great review! i know it’s been a year but i’m probably going to switch over after watching this! my only question is how do you connect once you get up in the stand? do you connect your safety rope to one of the side attachment hookups or how do you do it? i know you used it in a saddle style in the video but what if you want to actually sit down in the stand? thanks!
Thanks for watching. I simply used my tether but keep it down at waist level. I bring the tether around and attach it to my front tie in on the harness. You must leave a bit of slack (enough that you’ll be able to turn to the opposite side of the tether wrap around to shoot if that makes sense). 👍
Thanks for watching. Last year I made my own homemade saddle. I have since won a Tethrd Mantis is a RUclips giveaway. I’ll probably use both in the upcoming year. Here is a comparison video I did with the homemade and Tethrd saddles. ruclips.net/video/n9WBDPfk-l0/видео.html
Do you still use this? Or are there updated systems? Getting back into trees this year.. Well after following the link I can't find either on Amazon...😢
I still use a rock climbing harness as my safety harness when in a climber/hang on tree stand. I’m currently using the Black Diamond Alpine BOD. I like everything about it (except the buckle) amzn.to/3qulU4X
There are several videos on YT of guys trying to flip upside down. You don’t fall out of the harness. With that said...I never tried it 😜 Thanks for watching! I appreciate it 👍

That harness should work fine for thin waisted people like yourself. My waist however is 46 inches as I am a big guy. The harness adjust to 47 inches but when hunting wearing thick clothing, that might not be enough. Who wants to be hanging up in a tree knowing the safety belt is straining to stay in the buckle because the manufacturer cut the belt short to save a 25 cents of belt material? Do you know of any similar harnesses that leave an ample length for the belt and leg adjustments?
I not sure about harnesses for bigger than 47” waist. I’m sure they’re out there, just never really looked. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! I appreciate it 👍
Yup, that’s exactly how with bibs, bring the tether rope out the fly hole. Can’t use the lineman’s belt attachments with the bibs on... Thanks for watching. I appreciate it 👍
Thanks for watching! I mainly use this harness as my safety harness in a tree stand but I also use it to safely hang and remove tree stands. When I do that I use a standard rope tether and attach it to the center belay loop on the harness. 👍
Using it as a safety harness in a stand...not one bit! If you’re using it as a saddle it will pinch your hips. I’m playing around with using it in conjunction with a DIY saddle. I plan to do a video soon... Thanks for watching. I appreciate it 👍
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial look up sitdrag hunting saddle. Its designed for use at ground level, but paired with a harness is pretty comfy. Or just get a tree saddle
Good question! A harness will definitely be more comfortable! I’m actually toying with a DIY saddle that will combine with a rock climbing harness. Video should be up in the next week or so 👍
Haha this video just came up (again) so I’ve got to comment! This is a (bulky and heavy) rescue harness, NOT a rock climbing harness. Thankfully my most regrettable purchase of 2020 didn’t cost too much lol. So learn from my mistake and either save your money for a minimalist tree saddle with an adjustable bridge, or add linesman loops to a rock climbing harness. I understand that this harness has linesman loops, but it is not what you want if you cover much ground.
Great idea!! That’s exactly what I went with instead on matte paint. The tape quiets it down when I snap my caribeaner on it vs the paint. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 👍
Great video. I'm looking for a harness with webbing loops instead of the metal "D's", and with quick release buckles for the waist and leg bands. Any thoughts? Anybody? Hunt safely, my Friends!
Thanks for the heads up! Apparently they don’t sell that model anymore ☹️ I fixed the link to a similar model. Thanks for watching my review. I appreciate it 👍
Check the ratings against the CE or UIAA, etc listings. Make sure THIS unit is listed. 18kN is 4050lbs, not 4000lbs. Even a small detail error like that makes me sketchy. Not knocking it for being Chinese - MadRock makes great shit. I have a harness from them and some quick draws.
Thanks for watching! Good information and warning. One can never be too concerned when it comes to safety and climbing equipment. I appreciate your input 👍

NICE!GOOOOOOOOD!

What about this harness vs a hunting saddle?
Good question! A harness will definitely be more comfortable! I’m actually toying with a DIY saddle that will combine with a rock climbing harness. Video should be up in the next week or so 👍
Sounds cool. If it's safe, and you're more comfortable with it, that's what I'd use if I was you.💪👍💯

Awesome review brother! I will leaving the climbing to you 😂
Chicken!!! 😜 Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it 👍
Haha this video just came up (again) so I’ve got to comment!
Thanks for watching and for your input. I appreciate hearing your experience 👍
I always wanted to try that but I don't have much faith on them ropes I rather do tree stand
Haha. I hear ya. This harness can definitely be used as your safety harness in any tree stand. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi wow nice video sir

Use hockey tape on the shinny tether attachment
Great idea!! That’s exactly what I went with instead on matte paint. The tape quiets it down when I snap my caribeaner on it vs the paint. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 👍
nice sharıng
Thank you!! I appreciate it 👍
Great video. I'm looking for a harness with webbing loops instead of the metal "D's", and with quick release buckles for the waist and leg bands. Any thoughts? Anybody? Hunt safely, my Friends!
I don’t know of any off hand. The quick release waist buckle would be a huge plus for me also! Thanks for watching my review! I appreciate it👍
Let me know if you found what your looking for. I’m looking for something similar
@@HuntingFarmerOfficial Found it! Dryad Killdeer. Military discount. Ordered it 20 minutes ago. Happy Easter. Hunt safely, my Friends!

Check your link, the product you are showing us is not what is being sold. Thanks
