i replaced the brake switch, fixed the esc and abs light but even after the reset the po504 brake switch light came back and my cruise control light comes on but will not set. checked the brakes and they are turning off and on correctly.
The brake switch has 4 wires. 2 are for the brake lights and 2 for cruise control. You may see the brake lights are working but the switch is still a problem. If your engine light is on the Cruise Control will not work as well. To clear the ECU codes >Remove the negative line on the battery ( If you have a factory stereo you will need a code to unlock it again, Also do this with drivers window down incase the van locks ) > With lead disconnected press the brakes once for 5 seconds > wait at least 2min or more and then connect the battery again. If you have fixed the problem you need to also clear the ECU codes. Everything should work again after clearing the codes. If it doesn't or Cruise Control stops again after a drive you still have a problem at the switch or a bad contact else where. Also make sure you have the correct brake light bulbs 'not LED to have the correct resistants' and all brake lights are working. Cheers.
