At first I thought you were going to make fun of this man's dream. But you didn't and I'm proud of you Dan Bell. Thank you for recognizing that hopes and dreams come in different shapes and sizes. Just like yours. Great video, thank you for including it.
That structure has been there for years and they haven't made any progress on it, I am 37 now and I can remember passing by this every time I visited my Aunt and Uncle in Wolfsville,MD (about 1 hour from Hagerstown).
Yes it has been there for Years. I live in Cumberland Md. Dan was right about it behing there a long time. We pass this Every time we go to Deep Creek Lake.
I'm always on the look out for Coffindaffer crosses! Also, there is another Arc almost finished in Lexington, KY and it's going to have Dinosaurs (seriously).
It's finished now although it probably won't stay open for long. They are already dropping well below their projections for this year. I still don't know how much money Ken Ham paid that judge to allow him to discriminate in hiring while getting tax breaks from the local municipality
Bernard Coffindaffer was my Father's Second Cousin. If I hadn't been adopted out of the family, my last name would have been Coffindaffer instead of Greene. Bernard was an inventor...and Minister. He sold one of his inventions to the Coal industry. Made millions, of course. Crosses were erected to proclaim his faith...this is true. But, his son was killed in a car accident...they also pay tribute to him. The millions that Bernard made with the sell of his invention went to go pay for all the crosses to be erected. They are mainly in the Easter U.S., but they are also out west and a few other countries. I knew my Biological father for about 13 years. He passed away this last year unexpectedly...I had grown to know him as "Dad", especially after my adoptive father, who raised me, committed suicide a little over 5 years ago. My "Dad", Jim Coffindaffer loved to talk about "The Preacher ", Bernard Coffindaffer. I live in Parkersburg, WV, and we have them in several places. I tell my kids as we passed them along I-77, that those crosses are our family heritage. It's really cool to have something like this attached to who you are....a Coffindaffer! Haha!
Imagine all the people that church could have helped out using that money they saved instead of wasting it on concrete and metal left to rot in a field. Pathetic.
I can just imagine the guy's pitch to the investors... "Hi! Can I have money to build a giant biblical tourist trap? Pretty please? Jesus said I should do it!" ... >_
Hey Dan I always love seeing you visit such interesting places. I especially enjoy your commentary and the history of the places. Have you ever considered visiting Centralia, Pennsylvania? I've always been fascinated with it and its history. I've seen a few decent videos of people visiting but I think your exploration would really do it justice. Anyway thank you for all of the wonderful videos you create.
+Daniel28021991 Seeing how long it's been in "building stages", I kind of don;t have much hope for that! LOL Its been in process since 76. Thats about 40 years. If they haven;t finished it by now I doubt it will happen but who knows??
+Daniel28021991 i forget where but there is a place that they are building a life size ark, not this one but maybe a couple of minutes of google search you could find it
We have a real Noahs Ark "theme park" that is now complete in my area of Northern KY right outside Cincinnati. I havent been yet but its got animatronics (sp) and everything. I recommend folks Google it and watch the youtube they have of it being built and it shows some of the now completed park in full swing. Good vid here! Have u ever taken Rick on the road? I enjoy the chemistry of Rick, Will, and yourself. Keep up the good work!
I've passed through there many times and never understood why it was never actually built. I always thought it was just really odd. Ha. I love seeing Maryland sights from you because I live in Maryland and you give a lot of history to sights that I've always been curious of. Cool video
I'm 45 and I remember seeing that sign as a little kid on our way to my grandmother's house in WV. Each time we went, I was hoping to see something different from the last time we passed the site. Nope. It was always just the sign.
I've seen those crosses on the highway once while driving through West Virginia on the way home to Massachusetts. I had never seen triple crosses like that anywhere else before. I thought it was pretty strange because it seemed like every mile or so you would see another one the whole way through lol.
I remember that like two years ago i finally looked up the story about the three crosses because I was so confused about why they where everywhere and thought the story was pretty cool. iv'e seen some in the most high up craziest places though!
I vaguely remember seeing a "noah's arc" a few times on the side of the road in my childhood on the drive from Nevada to California. I'm surprised the structure is not covered in crows. It looks like a nice place to roost.
Seems like one of those swindles to me. Build part of it with much donated money. Wait a while collect donations again, add more on to Ark. And then again and again. Who knows
They obviously never intended this giant pile of pointlessness to float down the highway into the sea of safety, with all the concrete and bolts holding it down, really wtf ...
I bet that church could have really helped some people in dire situations with that $200,000. I really like the videos you guys do. Keep up the good work. :)
Its a waste anyways. It looks like its in a real out of the way place. Ham has a hard time getting people into his Ark Park right now and it was publicized quite heavily in the area.
cinnamonseahorse Oh wow, thanks so much!! :) haha we both love Dan's channel - he's bringing RUclips together two people at a time hahaha! I LOVE Vincent Price - am going to be doing another Vincent Price series of videos in the next month or so because the Podcast I'm on is going to be doing a special on him as well ;) Thxs so much!
very interesting i always wondered what the 3 crosses meant i thought it was just a southern thing. I'm from Massachusetts, we don't have stuff like that as much.
My great uncle is the one who put up those crosses all across Route 50 and Appalachia. Didn’t know anyone else really knew or cared about them. :/ I can still hear my grampa making fun of my grammas family, the Coofindoofers. Lollll... RIP pappaw Bo!
This site has info on the crosses: www.thecross-photo.com/Crosses_Across_America_Inc The center cross is good to represent royalty and the side crosses light blue to represent Earth. Apparently there is a nonprofit set up to repair and repainted the crosses.
Ah nothin but a tumblin tumble weave. In CA and Ga a tumble weave is when some girls weave gets caught up in the wind then blows off their head. Thus becoming a tumblin tumbleweave. 😱😴
Agree...it is really, in my mind, very silly when there's better that can be done with the money. But...you need to do study. There's no doubt the Ark existed. It's spoken about in actual historical books from that time...as Noah, the apostles, the Kings, and...gasp...Jesus were ALL real. There is historical accounting of their existence. Their existence is not the argument...we're much further than you, I guess. The argument is...was Christ who he said he was. But, their being real? Not taking the Bible as a reference at all, there are many historical documents that account for them actually being REAL. For Christ, there's irrefutable documentation. Just as there's documentation today when people are put to death, there was then, too. King Herod allowed Jesus to be crucified for the offense of claiming to be King of the Jews, and God's son. Blasphemy to the Priests and Sadducees of that time accountable only with death by crucifixion. They even know the names of the two crooks that were crucified on both sides of him. There's even MORE documentation about Christ (Jesus, of Nazareth), because he WAS gone out of the tomb he was placed in. The followers of him (apostles) were blamed for steeling his body. So...everything..including that crazy Noah building the Ark are all documented many other places than the Bible.
I almost skipped this video after 60 seconds, it looked so dull and boring. But I have never laughed so hard, there are so many hidden gems in this video. Reading everyone's comments make it even funnier
Mmgh! I always thought those crosses were for gutting deer or something. Like hanging the deer upside down on these crosses, as the blood ran out on the ground. Saw many of those crosses driving down the eastern shore of MD where I'm from. Weird. . . Goodnight, everybody! Thanks, Dan and Will.
+Jenni Case And according to the Bible, only Jesus was nailed to the cross. Normally an individual who was crucified had their hands and feet bound to the cross with rope.
If I had as much money as someone like Bill Gates, I would fund the completion of this project. So cool...although, The Creation Museum has a replica of the ark at their place. Can't remember where it is , but...
#TumbleWeave
I laughed more than I should have at the tumbleweave 😭😂
+Dan Bell / Film It I lost it at that part haha
+Dan Bell / Film It I almost spit my coffee out at that part oh man that was hilarious lol
The dust picks up, the wind blows, the weaves walk the streets like miniature blob monsters.
That pastor should consider crowdfunding.
Mr.Bell, exploration by real people like you inspires us,the viewers...
At first I thought you were going to make fun of this man's dream. But you didn't and I'm proud of you Dan Bell. Thank you for recognizing that hopes and dreams come in different shapes and sizes. Just like yours. Great video, thank you for including it.

You'd think a church would better spend that sort of money on helping the poor or something. Just a thought!
My church puts playgrounds in bad neighborhoods in NE Ohio. You're right. This is a waste of money, unless admission would raise money for the church.
jesse husky well at least they can spell
I'm always on the look out for Coffindaffer crosses! Also, there is another Arc almost finished in Lexington, KY and it's going to have Dinosaurs (seriously).
Um....real ones? 😱
It's finished now although it probably won't stay open for long. They are already dropping well below their projections for this year. I still don't know how much money Ken Ham paid that judge to allow him to discriminate in hiring while getting tax breaks from the local municipality

Poor Will. He always looks freezing cold lol.
he does lol
He needs to invest in a good pair of thermal undies. Seriously man. :)
We need to start a fund to buy Will a decent coat!
thank you Mr Bell for sharing, filming and educating us viewers..
Had no clue this was out there. Thank you for taking the time to film it!
must be very depressing driving down the road day after day and seeing this..its too bad really,,nice vid..never knew this existed
Imagine all the people that church could have helped out using that money they saved instead of wasting it on concrete and metal left to rot in a field. Pathetic.
I'm loving this second channel, Dan!! Keep it up, and I'm so glad to see your success.
Noah's Ark has been "being built here" since I was a kid and lived in the Cumberland MD area in the 70's.
these crosses are all over NW Pennsylvania as well. great video Dan
This was always a landmark when we would drive from Pittsburgh to DC
They are almost done with building an ark at the creation museum in Kentucky. They had the funding but it still took a long time to get it all done.
How long did it take Noah to raise the money?
IT WAS GOD'S MAGIC!
He had to hire the elephants to do the job.
I love the way you talk I always watch your videos before i go to sleep it calms me down.:) And your videos are awesome!
I can just imagine the guy's pitch to the investors... "Hi! Can I have money to build a giant biblical tourist trap? Pretty please? Jesus said I should do it!" ... >_
I KNOW!! How in the world he got people to invest....He must know magic!!
Drove past that place so many times!
Noah did well to get his ready so quick when you consider how little this has come in so many years. Some wizardry must have gone on 😏
Hey Dan I always love seeing you visit such interesting places. I especially enjoy your commentary and the history of the places. Have you ever considered visiting Centralia, Pennsylvania? Awesome, I hope there will finish it one day.
+Daniel28021991 Me too!

+Joshua It is at Ken Hamm's Creation Museum pretty much on the border of Ohio and Kentucky. It is a pretty amazing place!
Yeah a pretty amazing waste of money and resources.
We have a real Noahs Ark "theme park" that is now complete in my area of Northern KY right outside Cincinnati. I havent been yet but its got animatronics (sp) and everything. Wow..... That would be very cool to see completed.
I've seen those crosses on the highway once while driving through West Virginia on the way home to Massachusetts. I had never seen triple crosses like that anywhere else before. I thought it was pretty strange because it seemed like every mile or so you would see another one the whole way through lol.
Well honestly the Catholic church can be odd. I can say that too because I'm also Catholic but I don't think i'm that odd. lol 😀
I remember that like two years ago i finally looked up the story about the three crosses because I was so confused about why they where everywhere and thought the story was pretty cool. iv'e seen some in the most high up craziest places though!
those same exact crosses are in certain locations in eastern ky as well......been seeing them around since I was a kid!
It appears that Will has many doors to unlock by the appearance of his key ring.
+Dan Bell/film it I recognize this as I always drive past it on my to West Virginia. I've always wanted to stop to check it out but never did.
Who knows
I was thinking the same thing. A swindle.
I've been to Frostburg once when I lived in Maryland for a while.
They obviously never intended this giant pile of pointlessness to float down the highway into the sea of safety, with all the concrete and bolts holding it down, really wtf ...
side note the kooky Ken Ham has built one i think. it's in southern Ohio i think near the creation museum
I bet that church could have really helped some people in dire situations with that $200,000. I really like the videos you guys do. Keep up the good work. :)
People should care about people. Sad
Evangelicalism isn’t about helping people, it’s about the American culture war.
would love to hook up with you guys on another location somewhere in Maryland I'm always into exploring abandoned places
crazy clouds at 1:52
?
There's a Noah's Arc theme park in Ky.
First saw this in May 2016 while driving to D.C.
they have been building that thing for years.. I don't think it will ever get done.
2:42 Will, such horseplay! The sign clearly says God's Ark of Safety.
Well his safety ark will only get you electrified so far.
During the summer I go to Frostburg just to cool off..
Dan I live about an hour or less from there! What state are you from?
Steel I-beams I'm sure Noah would have approved...
So there was the giant wooden ark, this metal one, and the one mentioned in the comments...How many arks are there in the U.S.?
I'm no expert, but I don't think that's how you build a boat...
But, that ark is stuck, so when the flood comes it will sit on the bottom..
😱 So true man!
Why would they wanna rebuild Noah's Ark?
OMG.......That Thing is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As interesting as it is, what a ridiculous waste of money.
I agree, in the event it stays unfinished.
Its a waste anyways. It looks like its in a real out of the way place. Ham has a hard time getting people into his Ark Park right now and it was publicized quite heavily in the area.
we need to collect 2 Tumbleweaves to put on the ark so they can multiply
I was wondering what on earth that was. looks like huge tribbles to me. or a dead little dude. 😱😱
great video. I like the history of the ark. I passed a field with those three crosses in it. I thought it meant someone died.
That's crazy!! So cool - I hope they finish it! :)
+HorrorGal Just checked out your channel and subscribed. I really dig your top 5 Vincent Price flicks!
cinnamonseahorse Oh wow, thanks so much!!
Super random but interesting! Keep it up Dan :)
very interesting i always wondered what the 3 crosses meant i thought it was just a southern thing. I'm from Massachusetts, we don't have stuff like that as much.
if they ever finish it, I'd love to see the end result!
and a tumble weave!! omg! I'm dead!! :")
Thay Ark rebuild has been there for over 20 years
billy goat ive been driving past it to visit my parents for 15 years.
My great uncle is the one who put up those crosses all across Route 50 and Appalachia. Didn’t know anyone else really knew or cared about them. :/
I can still hear my grampa making fun of my grammas family, the Coofindoofers. Lollll... RIP pappaw Bo!
Someone needs to start a kickstarter
This site has info on the crosses: www.thecross-photo.com/Crosses_Across_America_Inc The center cross is good to represent royalty and the side crosses light blue to represent Earth. Apparently there is a nonprofit set up to repair and repainted the crosses.
I lost it at tumbleweave....lol
Ah nothin but a tumblin tumble weave.
In CA and Ga a tumble weave is when some girls weave gets caught up in the wind then blows off their head. Thus becoming a tumblin tumbleweave.
😱😴
I went to college in frostburg. there are abandoned train tunnels under the city. there are also many abandoned mines throughout. hint. hint.
we have tumbleweaves in georgia too!
I had always heard that the preacher took the money and ran away with the church secretary. I used to pass by it on my way to see my brother at FSU.
Wow. $200,000 for that? They could have fed and clothed local homeless people with that.
what kind of naked homeless people are you encountering?
Why are you responding to an almost decades ago comment? @@Zack29810
@@JustSheilz because I felt like it.
I don't think this would pass even the most basic safety inspection, I can't see the church getting this thing signed off by the authorities
We're going to rebuild a thing that never existed!!! Sigh... How about spend that money on a school or a hospital... Priorities, man.
Agree...it is really, in my mind, very silly when there's better that can be done with the money. But...you need to do study. There's no doubt the Ark existed. ....... A tumble weave. That just killed me. Hahhahahhahahahhaha
It looks like a wig, lol
Pretty cool you were close to where I live (lavale md).
I wonder if their fire proof crosses...
😱
I almost skipped this video after 60 seconds, it looked so dull and boring. But I have never laughed so hard, there are so many hidden gems in this video. Reading everyone's comments make it even funnier

Thanks, Dan and Will.
Looks like you're just about back to home? You're back in MD, I why I ask. :)
tumbleweave!!!!!!!!!! I love you Dan lol 😂😂😂😂
I'm sure Jesus would be all about pissing away millions of dollars on some stupid dream boat rather than using it to help others.
drove past this all the time omw to and from wvu
The other 2 crosses are supposed to represent the men who were also crucified along with Jesus but I have no idea why they are certain colors.
+Jenni Case And according to the Bible, only Jesus was nailed to the cross. Normally an individual who was crucified had their hands and feet bound to the cross with rope.
I'm assuming the yellow cross is supposed to represent Jesus' cross, perhaps to look golden and holy.
Thanks for sharing
I've seen these crosses in Southern Ohio as well.
I saw that when I went with a friend to maryland 😊❤❤
"Sooo Sad!!!"
"Tumbleweave"...clever :)
What a waste of concrete and metal...
I agree. My dad was in the cement business and that was my first thought.
A tumbleweave? LMAO.
Yea. they actually are shipped in from Asia.
that is a really cool find
Love the part where u get to that wig...LOL..
What a waste of steel... also I already asked this but here it is again why does will always look really tired or incredibility stoned
Because maybe both are hobbies of his?
Having sex with dead bodies has to get tiring after a while since you have got to do all the work.
That's a joke from the pine bluff hotel commentary
Please do some research on what the crosses mean!!!
They will need the ark.
If I had as much money as someone like Bill Gates, I would fund the completion of this project. So cool...although, The Creation Museum has a replica of the ark at their place. Can't remember where it is , but...
I think Gates only funds other countries needy. So don't hold your breath man. Maybe Oprah will help? idk man....😱😱
I think Bill is more interested in doing things that are practical. Building a boat that won't float isnt very practical.
Nice movie 👍👌
Bible Belt? I'm assuming because the southern U.S. is. I guess I should know. I'm in Texas. lol
At one time there were a lot of those crosses here in Ohio.
Christ was crucified between 2 criminals. He forgave them and said today you will be with me in paradise
As I recall, He only said that to one of the men
Why is this so hard? An old man built one and put two of every animal and cared for them during a giant flood!
Oh ya the bible is fiction.
Noah had to hire elephants to do the job or it would of not got done.
