Are you saying Walmart sells the dryer?!
@@simplycurlyde I got Laifen at target store I like
,🙂
I already have a laifen😁 With a couple different discounts it only ended up being around $100...not bad for a pretty nice dryer
I didn't get the fancy one though. I got the regular one. I mean it's probably fine for me
Love these long, in-depth videos, thank you for sharing them! I learned everything about styling wavy hair from you and I appreciate all the knowledge you share with us :)
I know you asked a while ago what content people would like to see, and this is great. I was also curious if you might be able to do a simple daily refresh routine. Like maybe do a wake up take hair out of the pineapple and what you do with it to refresh for day 2, then the next day what you do until you switch to a wash day?
Thanks so much for your super helpful content, and god bless you!
Very helpful! I struggle with drying my hair as it takes forever and a day (even with the Laifen dryer). My hairdresser agrees that my hair just holds water to the extreme. 30 minutes of drying on high heat/high power and my hair is probably 60-70% percent dry. Air drying does take literally a whole day. I will say the Laifen is worlds better than the dryers I used to use but still takes soooooooo long.
Thank you, Helpful Lady!! ❤
This was incredibly helpful!! I have been on my wavy journey for over a year now and have learned so much from you! I have soaked in A LOT of content from a whole host of creators on how to take care of my wavy/curly hair and you have been the most helpful of the bunch! I love that I continue to learn something from you! This video in particular has given me a whole host of new techniques to try and I really can’t say thank you enough. Please don’t feel you need to cut things out because you worry about boring folks, I promise that edited info would be helpful to some of us!!
Coming back to say I actually tried this entire routine today- different products but same techniques and this is hands down my BEST washday I have ever had in over a year long wavy curly journey! Thank you, Courtney!! ❤
Trying this weekend ❤ I love all of the details. It’s so helpful to follow along step by step until I learn!
Would love seeing how to wash, rinse & apply product in shower or apply product standing up. I'm not able to bend over the tub due to back issue. My hair is wavy with some curls . Also when I'm traveling many times hotels only have shower - no tub. Thank you.
I love seeing the whole wash day start to finish! I finally get how you plop using the perfect hair care towel. 😂 The trick of adding the hairspray for wonky pieces is awesome! 👏👏
I’ve been following you for years, but I picked up a few things I’ve been doing wrong by watching this video. Thank you for making it.
I have been watching your videos for about five years now. These back to basics videos are fantastic. I’m sure we all start to tweak our products and strategies so it’s great to see what worked in the first place when we might have had more success.
Thank you so much.
My hair is so weird!! Since it's longer it hates brush styling and I can only brush style when my hair is short. It's straight at the bottom some days and then textured at the top. Do other fellow waives experience this? I do the bowl method to fix my ragged ends. It works super well! Thank you Cortney for not leaving us wavies out of the loop!
Thanks for the full details! I'll be watching this on repeat :)!
I am new to curly hair styling, so thank you so much for all these tips!
Welcome! It's a journey! I have quite a few videos for just starting out! Glad the tips helped!
I am always in awe of the shine in your hair, you have naturally beautiful shiny hair. Thanks for showing your routine!
Thank you Courtney for sharing your expertise. I have learned SO MUCH from you. The product guide has been so useful selecting products for the winter months. The CS scalp detox products you highlighted last week arrive tomorrow. Looking forward to trying them. Thanks for the Laifen discount!
Awe thank you much!!! And so glad the product guide helped! Enjoy the laifen and the products! I know winter can be so tough on your scalp.
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney LOVE the CS scalp detox kit!
I am a huge CGM rebel as my scalp requires me to be. I work out and I have an oily scalp. My fine hair also doesn't need much conditioning to begin with, though I love silicone based conditioners as I find oil based conditioners don't work so well anymore. I always want at least a leave in conditioner, though I often use a rinse out conditioner too. I do a pre shampoo oil treatment a vast majority of the time before I wash it. I also tend to like applying my hold products on more damp hair as opposed to wet hair, as I want more definition in my waves.
Just what I needed 😊
Yay! So glad that this is helpful!
@SwavyCurlyCourtney I'm just starting to not ignore my waves and curls thanks to your channel, so thank you!
As always, another great video! Could watch something everyday. Can't wait to learn more and see what you can share with us from your school learning too! Love the duck out at the end!😂
I love these in depth videos! Thanks, Courtney!!! 😊
I really appreciate the feedback! Helps so much! Glad they are helping! Thank you!
Thanks so much for this! I'll be watching this a lot. On one of your previous videos you tried two different Bounce Curl brushes, and I think it was the Volume EdgeLift that you were surprised to feel like it was actually gentler on your hair than the other brush. Or perhaps I am mistaken. Anyway, after having more time to use the brushes, have you developed a preference for one of the Bounce Curl brushes over the other, or does the brush you use just depend upon your mood (and your hair's mood)? I have very fine hair and was thinking the one you felt caused less tension might be a better choice for me to start with.
As a newbie to wavy hair… I found this very informative. Thank you!
Thank you! Very helpful. I'm 48 and just realized I had wavy curly hair I just thought it was frizzy and always flat ironed until I recently got a hair cut and highlight and my stylist said you have a lot of curl/wave in your hair and to train it start using gel and styling products and after a month my hair has so much waves and curls but after half a day my front sides become so straight and I'm not sure what to do.
Love this so much!
Very helpful! Thanks
I allways brush my hair brush be for i wash it helps it out
That's GREAT!
Good Morning Courtney ! I think that pre poo oil would be good for my husbands hair. My hair is way too flat. I lose a lot of hair when I wash and condition my hair. I love the Quidad products. They were the very first shampoo and conditioner products I used. I did find a good Curl Smith shampoo for color treated hair the Vivid Tones Virbrancy Shampoo. By the way I've stopped shampooing the ends of my hair because of your advice. I also brush my conditioner in as well. Thanks for your great advice !!
Hi Alice! I'm so glad to hear you've found some techniques and products that are working well for you and your husband! It's amazing how small changes like not shampooing the ends can make such a big difference, isn't it? Curl Smith’s Vivid Tones Vibrancy Shampoo is a fantastic choice for color-treated hair. Keep up the great work with your routine, and thank you for your sweet words-they truly made my day! 😊
Do you miss a big diffuser with this dryer? I’m used to black orchid and love it. But I’d love a different dryer.
How long does it take your hair to air dry to 100% after you have diffused?
Always look forward to your videos.
Just curious. Have you tried Doves new Bond Strengthening line? I think they are good, but I'm learning my low porosity grey hair doesn't like protein. The conditioner has 3 different hydrolyzed proteins.
I haven't tried that one yet! 👀
I need strong biceps to scrunch so much! God bless you you have strong arms
LOL! You get use to scrunching over time. Maybe start with doing it for a short time.
That is a super cute shirt
Before the curly girl "method," all I used were a little of my regular conditioner (Pantene) left in, and scrunching while blow drying on low!
Is it normal for my scalp to itchy usually happens on day 2-3 after styling ? Does that mean I need to wash ?
Actually, it's kind of funny how our porosity and strand thickness affect our hair experience. I was just noticing last night that before I started using styling products for my coarse, high-porosity wavy hair, it was a lot LESS sleek (more wacky volume, frizzy and wiry-looking). Let me put it this way, I use about a tablespoon of the OGX as my pre-shampoo oil, using my fingers the way you did (and collecting hairs in the process) yet it does not look oily afterwards; my hair just sucks it up and looks soft and shiny. It work wonders too, when it comes to protecting my hair from drying when I shampoo and especially when I clarify. Note: my son has thick, fine 3a curls and they start looking greasy if he skips ONE day of washing.
Hi Courtney, me again! Where did you purchase the hair pick you were using? I'm not having much luck finding one.
Oh goodness this one is by Plump hair care. pumphaircare.com/products/pump-pink-detangle-comb
It’s an Australian brand. If you are looking for a US based hair pick that is similar you might like this one. howl.link/oabl8vo1njrr7
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney Thank you!
How can you tell your hair is lacking protein?
Tip from a pro hair stylist: Never put conditioner/leave-in or deep conditioner on your roots or on your scalp. Conditioner is only meant for mid length through to ends of your hair only. Applying conditioner so close to your roots only weighs your hair down. I promise, the sebum your scalp secretes, nourishes your roots plenty.
Love your shirts! Thank you for unashamedly sharing God on your channel✝️🤍
Can I follow this same routine for briogeo gel?
Of course!
Courtney we have different definitions of "a touch more gel" 😅
🤭😂
How is the slip with the ouidad conditioner?
It's not the most crazy slippery conditioner ever, but it has decent slip!
@SwavyCurlyCourtney thank you!
My hair never seems to be that wet
I like your more detailed videos. As a beginer,I need to see everything that you do.I realized now that I scrunch way too little.
You don't want to pre-lather your shampoo in your hands. You want to spread it on a section of your scalp, then lather, then reapeat until your whole head is lathered.
Why kind of haircut do you have?
👍
Follow her advice if you want greasy looking hair with no volume
I"ve shown my day 2 hair in many videos. Hardly greasy and I struggle with grease. No issues with volume either. I know may others who do this and do not have issues.
@@SwavyCurlyCourtney Okay, well I guess we have a different understanding of greasy-looking-hair and what volume is. I think your hair looks super weighed down. I'd love a video where you try a normal routine with normal products with silicones!
Shampooing in a sink please that will be cool
Your hair turned out gorgeous 😍 @swavycurlycourtney! But honestly, no matter what your waves and curls are doing, you are always beautiful, inside and out!
So, I have a question for you, Courtney. I'm trying to decide which hair dryer to invest in. And I do mean invest. It's quite a big chunk of money. I, too, have RA. But I also have really long, thick, wavy, curly hair. Even my individual hairs are thick. I have done a lot of research and am down to two hair dryer options, the Curlsmith Defrizzer with the large 8 inch diffuser or the Laifen with the diffuser attachment. I'm concerned about the Curlsmith one only because I wonder if it will be heavier and trickier to use, because of the size if the diffuser. Will it be harder on my arms and hands and jounts and RA? But then what if it's better for my long thick hair!? This is the debate going on in my head! I'm curious, since you've used both, what do you think? You have a much more informed opinion and I've been following your wavy curly hair journey from the beginning, so I tend to trust what you have to say! Anything would be helpful 🥰 Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you in advance for your help. Take care and God bless ❤
