I had the first year model of the XT6 Luxury version. With Captains chairs in 2nd row…One of the best cars I ever owned. The only thing I thought they could improve was the quickness and MPG. Always felt luxurious… loved the seats, loved the ride quality, loved the infotainment system…… and the AC was excellent too!
You know, it took me so long to see what's different on this XT6, and it's the grill. Cadillac has done an amazing job with this XT6. Imagine if they made an XT6-V!
Joe always liked the XT6 Sport, however, Cadillac should give this vehicle a full digital instrumention display and a larger touchscreen, like in the Escalde and the Lyrique. I heard the XT4 is getting full digital and a large touchscreen. The XT6 should also get an optional Turbo V6 and maybe call it V-Sport.
When the car first came out I thought the analogue gauges were too basic but actually if you really look at the design it is really clean, sharp and classy and I really like them now. They will still look good in 10 years' time whereas digital wiĺl probably look dated and nasty. Plus there's plenty of digital screen real estate already anyway for the other stuff.
And the Bose sound system in it is unsurpassed by any I’ve ever heard! Base that will rattle your bones and the clarity even at extremely high volume is superb! I simply love everything about my 2022XT6!
You should give a listen to the audio from Genesis’ Lexicon, 2021+ Tesla Model S/X, and Acura’s ELS. I have found these to be some of the best systems I’ve tested. Absolute best is the 4D Burmester in the new S-class, but it better be for almost $7k.
Its due for a refresh, but I guess with so many coming this year already (Canyon/Colorado, Traverse, Acadia plus all the full-size SUV's, Escalade, etc.) they decided to wait. When they do finally refresh, it'll probably get the digital dash from the XT4, and that new 2.5 turbo the '24 Traverse is getting. (315hp / 317tq) It would be nice to have a bit more power right now, but the 2nd gen 3.6 is well proven. As for the instrument cluster, it's the same as the one I had in my 2020 CT5-V. Good, but outdated. I drove a '23 XT6 Sport several weeks ago. It had the base seats (not the ones in this review) and as much as I liked the rest of the vehicle, they seemed REALLY hard.
I would prefer this as a 2 rows suv and the Escalade as the 3 rows option or having a full bench to maximize the space. But in general it is a nice vehicle, great materials and nice performance.
I've always felt that Caddy should have had an engine upgrade option on the XT6 to distinguish it from the Enclave/Traverse. This does everything right, but $75K is too much, imho. You can get a Suburban Premier for that which is superior to this in every qualitative way. At $65K this would be a slam dunk.
@@cwwright83able buick does not have the same quality or feel especially in the steering the $4,000 Platinum package is a waste of money on this or the xt5 which I had it in mine.. that's why every one feels that this car is overpriced you can option out sport xt6 for under 65 k I remember when I had my xt5 my brother asked me why I didn't buy a Chevy and said that it was the same car, if that were the case we wouldn't need so many badges..

The sport comes with an optional carbon fibre accent instead of the wood. But I love the wood, so I'm glad it comes with the option still on the sport. Different strokes, for different folks!!
Great review as usual Joe! My wife has an 2017 XT5 with the same engine and it is very reliable. The XT6 will be a good upgrade for the new grand kids, but the price should be lower to sale more units as mentioned before.
If you had to choose between this or the xt5 sport? I am looking to trade in my 2022 sorento sx awd turbo. Looking for something that compares to it 3 row is not a mandatory.
I feel that the XT6 often get overlooked for the Escalade, when consumers are looking for a Cadillac 3-row SUV. Also, Caddy needs to one day come out with the subcompact XT3, to rival the Benz GLA, BMW X1, and Lexus UX.
Cadillac needs to build better vehicles. All these crossovers are cheaply built and overpriced. Engines and transmissions are crap. I’d go German all day long over this. Better quality and will last longer.

The current Q7 just looks like a dressed up atlas to me. Which I mean it kind of is, but still at least previously it looked much better than the atlas.
75K is a lot to pay for a heavily badge-engineered Chevy Traverse. At this price point, analog gauges and last-generation tech are hard to justify. My initial reaction was that the model is intended to appeal to an older demographic that has less use for the latest tech. But the availability of Supercruise and a “sport” appearance package with Brembo brakes (of all things) undercuts that theory. So who is the target market? I can’t imagine there are that many consumers cross-shopping this against a Q7 or the other German offerings. It’s got to be cannibalizing the Acadia Denali and Enclave, right?

I'm not digging that wood on the interior. But I love the tan they used. Wish the infotainment system was a touch bigger. But aside from that? Really nice vehicle. Especially that blue paint job.
I love the Cadillac xt6s in general but man taking the front bumper apart is a pain sometimes. Very similar to an Escalade on how it comes apart. But do see alot of these at the Cadillac dealership I work for
Anyone have experience with the "Automatic Seatbelt tightener"? Truth be told I've not tried it.....but man sounds like a pain the ass if it's too tight, etc. I'd rather adjust for myself....

Not a GM fan....and I've usually found Cadillac SUVs unappealing. But, I gotta admit this is a VERY nice looking ride. Great color, handsome and tasteful styling, nice interior (I like the wood). Still, I think the Lyric would be a better choice and value for me
To me this looks much better than the competition. Genesis is a bit of teenager, always flexing his muscles in front of the bathroom mirror. Hopefully, the brand will tone down those odd headlights and guitar-pick grill as it matures. The Q7 looks like it hauls family members all day long. It's proportions lean toward minivan. I wish I had the money to get into an XT while the design language is still utilitarian, modern, and athletic. With my luck, when I have the money, Cadillac will have moved onto a complete different aesthetic.
I don't think this video does this amazing vehicle any justice I own the platinum edition which includes to many items to name from TV's in the head rest to a air ionizer. Decent power with 310HP which i wish they used the CT5 twin turbo engine.

The Cadillac is really pretty would go for that one instead of the German brands knowing how Cadillac is and the wood would definitely be better on the higher trims and on the sport it would be neat to have the carbon fiber definitely love the Cadillac love this joe and pretty color
This is in no way better for the price the interior is cheap and the technology is lacking once u drive this and then the Audi for same price u will change ur mind even the genesis gv80 crushes this
It is the Platinum upgrade that puts the woodgrain on the dash and doors...the Premuim Luxury Sport has the carbon fiber where the wood is. Much nicer and I don't see a reason to pay more for a Platinum.
