Seeing the overview of all the houses, I saw something I've always wanted - no one tile gap between lots. They have shared fences, shown clearly where you see the solar panels right next to the white picket fence. Woo-hoo!!
And, judging by the things they placed on the road, you can even build outside the boundaries of the lot, or maybe just build things in the world in general. At least that's something I'd really like to see
@@demo2823 Yes, technically and if I recall correctly, it didn't always work too well, aside from neighbours looking blurry. Placement of objects etc could be problematic.
I love how all the kids look different ages. The couple at 16 looks distinctly differently aged than their daughter in the second picture. And the grandkids look different ages. I think that makes a huge difference in gameplay. Especially when we're used to kids being 1, then 2, then 10, then young adult but with a shorter jaw and slimmed shoulders. I also do like this art style a lot. It's soft and it sets them apart. I think for most players, it will take some getting used to (just like ts4 did after ts3 was much more realistic). Also, I try to remember that this game can be modded (and is built for easy modding). There will be people modding it to look different, whether more realistic or just into a slightly different art style. But what the devs have done already is so amazing and I cannot wait to play!
art style grew on me over time, especially as it evolved (I know some don't like the changes but I feel it's really come into its own). What I def do like is it feels like it has its own identity. It definitely leans cozy, but there are some compelling aspects they have shown so far in terms of features and personality. I'm keen to continue to see how it all turns out. as far as modding, I do know I saw before they weren't sure script mods were permitted (only cc)- so I do not know if this has changed
I can’t wait for this game to come out. I broke up with The Sims several expansions ago, wasn’t interested in Life By You, not interested in Inzoi. This is the only one that seems to actually understand the genre. Take my money please!
I LOVE the name Pralines! I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for this to drop as well, although I can say the same for Inzoi. At this point both games are high on my wish list. Who ultimately wins my heart (😮💨 the melodrama, lol), time will tell.
yeah, it was nice to see their creativity at work a bit! Unfortunately had to edit it off because of some sound ha but disclaimer is they aren't as of now official townies. I do think they will include Sebastian and Maggie etc who they have come up with some back stories for (
I agree on the Sims 2 vibes. I think it's the charm. Paralives is really the first Sims-style Life Sim since TS2 that has that warm, cosy, lively charm to it that I've been missing with Sims 3 and 4. And yeah, the houses look phenomenal and also kinda nostalgic, but I also love the woods behind the houses, really nice detail and models for the trees there! And yeah, the one big thing that still could need some improvement are the younger lifestages though the teenagers on the family pic with the aged parafolk do look a bit better.
ha glad it isn't just me who sees it. I wasn't thinking at all about sims 2 and it just popped in my mind. I agree that there are some nice little details true, they do, it could be the angle to the shot for me. and truthfully, I think the babies/ toddlers are the ones who prob would benefit most from tweaking. not a deal breaker by any means for me, as I generally love the style of the game
I thought the teenagers looked like teenagers; certainly moreso than Sims 4 teens. The houses were very nice too - very much "edge of a town neighborhood" vibes; my personal favorite was the overgrown house, because it added to the realism and neighborhood feel. So far, though, the thing I appreciate most about Paralives is the lack of drama; it's so restful after paying any attention to what's going on in Sims 4 communities. ^^;
I fear some drama may comes as it comes closer to launch... but yes, I enjoy covering it most as the comments sections tends to be way more chill than anything else I cover 😆
I LOVE the artstyle of Paralives so much! While I am intrigued with INZOI, I'm not too keen with the artstyle. But I'll wait for the gameplay and see if I grow to like it.
To be fair to InZoi, I have to say that they have a filter to change it from realistic to stylized . But frankly what I really appreciate about paralives is knowing how they have created their art with care and how the game is being developed by an indie team. I like how it has some intriguing elements for gameplay but has its distinct cozy style. With the one showcase, it seems it will have some levity too. And ha plus for me is it actually being developed with a Mac option
Wow paralives sure has come a long way! I'm rly hoping that everything will go well and the game will be successfully released, i would definitely love to try it. Gonna keep my eye on it 👀
Within the art style, I think the teens look like teens for sure. As long as teens don't look like adults I'll be happy. i do agree it has a Sims 2 vibes and 90s charm. I honestly kinda like that Paralives and InZoi are two very different games and I hope the fan bases can be civil and we can all co-exist. We all like what we like and Paralives just gives me the comforting hug InZoi doesn't. That doesn't mean I don't want depth and drama, but every time I opened Sims 2 it feels like a warm hug and this is giving me those same vibes. It's the vibessssss.
I'd love for people to be civil ha alas a lot of people see it as some kind of competition of zero sum and I don't really understand that. I agree it's good to see games going for differences in tone, aesthetics and vision.
Oh my gosh I don't think I've ever been this early lol but I am so unfathomably excited for this game, every aspect feels like a genuine labor of love and that's going to take this game so far
definitely is a passion project, and they've been wise so far in their development. early on they were kind enough to let me interview them a few times. very humble team too. wish them the best
I hope that they show more of what they are doing for people of color. That's such an important issue for many in the community. I remember the building ideas from the start of Paralives. I wonder if it will continue to be that versatile or if they had to tone it down as time went on. I guess what I would like to see is the "speed build" version of one of those houses.
certainly is! they have showcased a number of hair styles, different paras and so forth, and I suspect they will do more in the future. Lea, one of the main devs, said it was a priority for her to have hairs particular for people of color from what I can tell, though they have added, they have not as of yet scaled back or taken away from build mode, so I am fairly optimistic
I’ve been told (artist wise) that as you age, your features move, like your nose isn’t so tiny and your eyes move farther from your nose. So I think they somehow need to show that to make the kids not look like tiny adults or make the teens look weird
imo i feel like the younger paras could be tweaked a lil. they nailed the height, but their faces still look too mature for their age. other than that i lovee how paralives looks so far, especially the buildbuy objects! like, wow, i had to take a lil breather zooming into the parafolks and everything
yes I agree. I think the facial structure is still a bit mature. I do know they seemed pretty receptive to that feedback especially during the baby/ toddler reveal, so I am hopeful modifications may be made in a future agreed, otherwise I do like most everything so far. I think things seem to be coming together quite nicely
one thing that I noticed is the lack of sidewalks, Paras trying to visit their neighbors would have to go on the asphalt, though maybe it's just optional and they chose to not have sidewalks there, no idea, but I like that the street isn't flat like in Sims 2 or Sims 3
After dealing with Sims 4 adult male hair styles for years that look like their designed for women or prepubescent boys I'm so glad to see sideburns built into so many of the male hair styles. I also agree with you the world is giving off Sims 2 vibes which is a great thing at least for me.
That story showcase was cute. The bowl cut is very vintage, and I love it. Hopefully, they adjust the linework and shading/highlights of the younger paras. I think that's why they look a little older than they're supposed to be.

the funny thing about styles is that a lot of them repeat with some slight revisions, decade in and out. The bucket hats I think are now popular again and they were popular when I was a kid. Yeah I can def see the 60s Inso
I think they've improved enormously on the art style, which is much better than that of the paramaker video, and it's good to see a team that brings love to the game and this game makes a change from the sims.
won't happen. inzoi is further ahead and using generative processes; paralives also has a much smaller team. paralives will be out a long bit after inzoi if I have to guess
loved seeing the houses just not sure why they're choosing to include roads when there are no cars (i think they said that?), i thought they'd just make paths around the map
I actually have lived many places without sidewalks so maybe that is why it didn't look odd to me- but I do want to either have them or the ability to add them
I'm iffed about Inzoi not because of the game, its because of its developer/publisher KRAFTON doesnt exactly have a stellar record, this is a publisher who will delist games if they dont see fit to continue development like its some live service game, but then again I havent played or bought palworld until Craftopeia succeeds or will FINALLY BE OUT OF EARLY ACCESS
Am super excited!! For both paralives and inzoi, ^^ 💜 i just hope that once the game's come out that people won't just call these game's "the sims killer" because personal i just think thats too harsh.. :/ because why should a game kill and another game? That just seems really unfair in my opinion. And about what you said about the teen's? I have to be honest i don't really see a problem with how they look. I just it maybe be because i am a teen so maybe that's just personal preference. Am sorry of I may have sounded a bit harsh i just wanted to share my thoughts about what you said and i fully respect your opinion. 🙏🏽🙏🏽💜 Regardless am super excited for this game and am happy to see the progress! :D on how far this game had come. ^^ (Oh sorry again if this comment is very long i have a habit of writing a comment long then i attending too lol 😂.)
you didn't sound harsh! I appreciate your comment. I never have liked the sims killer discourse and honestly find it a little immature and not pragmatic. It seems silly to only want one game to exist, when having more choice would be excellent. I think the comment often comes from people upset about the sims but not critically thinking about how each game can appeal to different people :)
The biggest issue I have with calling something "The Sims Killer" is that it gives people these grand expectations that smaller developers can't necessarily keep up with. I love seeing all these new upcoming projects and wish them all well, but fans of the genre need to let them succeed or fail on their own right rather than expecting them to save the genre.
@@BonaparteBardithion yeah it definitely has that negative impact too. and I don't even understand why that would be the best case or goal? I'd love to see a few games succeed!
Yeah, I I think work on the teen Para. I hope they have preteen in this game I don’t understand why people skipped over that time of your lives, but that’s really important. I think for most of my story or gameplay. It is like I hope they have more than just teenagers and they should make him shorter than actual adults too.
I'm not super into the pre teen stage, but not inherently against it if they feel they can add meaning to it as far as height, there will be height sliders! so that's really cool
I love Sims but there's SO much wrong even with mods that I get frustrated with the glitches and all the updates. (Like the recent one that literally broke the base game). Just frustrating in general. I am REALLY looking forward to seeing Paralives and VERY interested in playing it.
The houses do look similar to Sims 2 houses. I think this is because they are all different styles. That bugged me in the Sims 2. It would be nice if a similar style were together , maybe with another style on a different part of town. That makes more sense to me. Other than that, it looks OK. A bit cartoony, but if the gameplay is good I could overlook that.
Life sims are fun because it fulfils the fantasy of working a career you like that offers promotions for your hard work and saving to buy your own house. You know, video game logic stuff that takes you away from reality.
I get that, though admittedly I have seen many places irl that have no sidewalks. I have seen sidewalks displayed before in patalives, so it's unclear to me where they will be and won't be
interesting, what do you like most about inzoi and what do you like most about paralives? I tend to come across less people that like both (there's nothing wrong with that though!

I would love to play this, but unfortunately, I don't have a Steam account. I might have a proper computer for this type of gaming, but I've had it for a year now, and I had an awful experience with it yesterday. I had to unplug it twice after getting just a black screen, but it started working the third time, albeit slowly. I needed to wait some time for it to work at its proper pace. It works fine now, but boy, that was really weird and distressing. And now, I don't think it can handle big games like this. So as it stands, I'm stuck with Sims 4, Sims 3 for Xbox, and Sims 2: Pets for Wii (although, I've had a MUCH better experience with the last two.)
it should run on lower end devices. if you're able to run sims 4 whenever you have a working computer , it would work for paralives to my understanding. I don't have the official specs yet, but I know they are trying to make it so as many as possible can play
@@jordan-the-hound2323 I see . yeah for now console isn't confirmed for paralives; if you ever do get a computer though rest assured you could go with a lower end one. I def feel there's a gap in availability for console games

definitely has grown on me a lot too! at least we have an early access (rough date) to look forward to now, and the team seems to continue to make good progress. they've come a long way
Paralives is the only life sim I have any hope for, as much as I like the look of Inzoi, Korean game developers are well known for being very greedy and exploitative as there is far less market regulation. Maybe i'm wrong but something tells me if it's successful then there will be countless microtransactions or at best sims-like expansion flogging.
I def would judge by the company vs an entire country- just like the US or anywhere, you'll get a variety in quality. But I do have concerns about the game that are not related to where it's being developed.. namely, the overuse (IMO) of AI, and we still don't know about the monetization. I'm not likely to play it however purely as I am a Mac player too and apparently the bootcamp option (running windows) may not be available right now. I will continue to follow it for a bit cause I think it'll make an impact, but don't feel personally hyped for myself, more curious about its impact and others' interest in it.
no need to apologize for your personal preference ! I consider this more hand drawn/ stylized. But while I do like the style I actually agree with you about the sort of blush overlay. I have said before I'd like it toned done or optional
Not really that "teen-y", regarding Rose and Antione. And what is with the name Lily? There is like 4 in the Sims4 and 3 Lilliths?? Can't game developers quit overusing names?
I honestly haven't paid a ton of attention to the names, and since these aren't official townies I really don't mind. what do you think would make them look more like teens
I don't like how the characters look AT ALL...but many people do so to each their own. Something about their skin and hideous blushing is giving allergy vibes...don't even get me started on that horrendous bowl/bob. I much prefer inZOI and even how Sims 2 with CC looks over this.
that's okay, it's matter of personal preference, though I try not to call things hideous. I do agree that the blush overlay is a bit much and have said before I'd like it toned down what I don't live about InZoi graphics is how it was made.

the funny thing about styles is that a lot of them repeat with some slight revisions, decade in and out. The bucket hats I think are now popular again and they were popular when I was a kid. Yeah I can def see the 60s Inso
@@SimmerErin Throw in the thick rimmed glasses and we have Velma from scooby doo. Okay so I have an idea to do that now haha
I think they've improved enormously on the art style, which is much better than that of the paramaker video, and it's good to see a team that brings love to the game and this game makes a change from the sims.
I hope they not dare give me InZoi & ParaLives around the same time. I can't handle it! My excitement will incinerate me!
won't happen. inzoi is further ahead and using generative processes; paralives also has a much smaller team. paralives will be out a long bit after inzoi if I have to guess
Awww i love it!!!
Inzoi/paralives can’t go wrong with either one
loved seeing the houses just not sure why they're choosing to include roads when there are no cars (i think they said that?), i thought they'd just make paths around the map
cars are confirmed i think
i hope they add sidewalks to the neighborhoods because it looks sooo odd without them
I actually have lived many places without sidewalks so maybe that is why it didn't look odd to me- but I do want to either have them or the ability to add them
I'm iffed about Inzoi not because of the game, its because of its developer/publisher KRAFTON doesnt exactly have a stellar record, this is a publisher who will delist games if they dont see fit to continue development like its some live service game, but then again I havent played or bought palworld until Craftopeia succeeds or will FINALLY BE OUT OF EARLY ACCESS
sounds fairly similar to a lot of companies in that they might drop them without support. that does happen
Regardless am super excited for this game and am happy to see the progress! :D on how far this game had come. ^^
(Oh sorry again if this comment is very long i have a habit of writing a comment long then i attending too lol 😂.)
you didn't sound harsh!
I'm actually far more interested in paralives than inzoi, idk why but the art style is more appealing to my taste
for me too, mostly because inzoi's approach with AI generated art
Yeah, I I think work on the teen Para. I hope they have preteen in this game I don’t understand why people skipped over that time of your lives, but that’s really important. I think for most of my story or gameplay. It is like I hope they have more than just teenagers and they should make him shorter than actual adults too.
I'm not super into the pre teen stage, but not inherently against it if they feel they can add meaning to it
as far as height, there will be height sliders! so that's really cool
I still miss life by you tho 😭, LBY, Paralives, Sims, Inzoi, I could play all this games all day long 😭
it's a shame what happened- I do feel for humble and the team. just wasn't managed properly. I do hope we'll see a few choices succeed relatively
Wierd cause I remember the bowl cut during 60's and 70's
there have been different versions of the bowl cut over a few decades. both hair and fashion trends tend to repeat (with revisions)
Not sure if its in this video. But there will be 3D grass too.
I love the look of the neighborhoods, but no sidewalks really bug me.
I get that, though admittedly I have seen many places irl that have no sidewalks. I have seen sidewalks displayed before in patalives, so it's unclear to me where they will be and won't be
I can’t wait for this game look so amazing just like inzoin can’t wait for that one as well as l got so bored with playing the sims 4 games
interesting, what do you like most about inzoi and what do you like most about paralives? I tend to come across less people that like both (there's nothing wrong with that though!
@@SimmerErin hi l like inzoi because the people in look like people and l have never seen that in a game before the colour wheel is great for the game so we could all choose what colour or pattern we want for thing like clothes furniture and hair and the car look so cool l don’t mind really you can’t driver them it the fact they are there you do over thing like wash the car put the window down and if you have car that the roof come down you even do that as for paralive they have so great things as well it’s cartoon and l haven’t played a game like that different heights for the paras it got a colour wheel as well which is cool and they have Christmas tree as well and pets as the dog is so cute babies look great it love how the crawl along the floor the paras can take off there shoes when they go in a home and in build you can make the furniture bigger or smaller as you need l have love paralives for a very long time and it’s great the team have taken a long time to make sure it will be running smoothly l hope this all make sense
@@SimmerErin I actually have The Sims 4 for PS4, but I get what you're saying. That's nice to hear, at least.
@@jordan-the-hound2323 I see . yeah for now console isn't confirmed for paralives; if you ever do get a computer though rest assured you could go with a lower end one. I def feel there's a gap in availability for console games
@@SimmerErin Not sure if my computer is a low end or high end one. It's a Lenovo YOGA desktop.
@@jordan-the-hound2323If it’s a Windows desktop that came out within the last 5 years or so, it can likely run TS4 and therefore, it’ll probably run Paralives. I can run TS4 with over half of the packs on my laptop that came out in 2016 (on low settings, ofc).
Hmm… it feels weird to look at the houses so close together with just a road for cars. Where is the sidewalk?
not sure.
I'm already in love with Paralives, even if the art style of the characters is not my thing entirely. Bring it on, my wallet is ready.
definitely has grown on me a lot too! at least we have an early access (rough date) to look forward to now, and the team seems to continue to make good progress. they've come a long way
90's kids are the best kids....thats all, thats the comment :)
agreed, no bias whatsoever
I feel that the kids need bigger heads 😂
the street didn't have sidewalks...
this one didn't, but others they have shown have
I’m very excited for this game, but I have to say - Rose and Antoine look hella ROUGH for 36
eh, idk, I think they look decent ha
If only they go chaos mode, the sims 2 sequel would be perfect
ha what do you mean by chaos
@@SimmerErin chaotic lore and chaotic storytelling. That's the only missing ingredients.
I thought this game was scrapped or am I thinking of a different one
that was Life by You, which was being developed by Paradox. This is an indie game
@@SimmerErin thank you
@@Hawkgirl40 no problem!
Sorry, but I really don't like the cartoony look, especially since everyone has "rosacea".
no need to apologize for your personal preference !
@@SimmerErin I haven't paid attention to the Paralives names, but you can't avoid townies in the Sims4 unless you delete them all.
I do agree that the blush overlay is a bit much and have said before I'd like it toned down
what I don't live about InZoi graphics is how it was made.
