If I remember, the writer said he worked this in because he regretted how he made them go down without a fight originally. I like that because I thought it made sense that the Earth's most powerful and capable super-team would be able to take on at least one Viltrumite when all working together. This makes sense. Omni-Man wouldn't have been able to do anything to him if he hadn't surprised him initially, and he probably could have escaped and warned Cecil about what was coming.

Is heavily implied in the show and comics that if the guardians had their heads on straight and worked as an actual team they could definitely defeat omniman only with maybe one or two casualties. That’s why he sneaks up on them in the first place. In the show they nearly beat him to death, and he passes out right after.
The guardians would’ve won the first time if he hadn’t got them by surprise, and they were trying to figure out what was happening with him. When they start choosing them over him, they do significant damage to him but by that point most of them had already died.
My opinion is that the guardians of the Global definitely could've defeated Omni Man if they weren't ambushed and worked as a team, because Omni Man definitely feared them enough to take care of them in the way he did.

Analyzing the guardians power sets and team work(based off the show, but it should also count for the comics, more or less), I think that they wouldn't have been able to kill Nolan, but probably defeat him. I can see some casualties still happening, but they got chances as long as they work togheter like the great superhero team they are meant to be

Is heavily implied in the show and comics that if the guardians had their heads on straight and worked as an actual team they could definitely defeat omniman only with maybe one or two casualties. That’s why he sneaks up on them in the first place. In the show they nearly beat him to death, and he passes out right after.
The guardians would’ve won the first time if he hadn’t got them by surprise, and they were trying to figure out what was happening with him. When they start choosing them over him, they do significant damage to him but by that point most of them had already died.

My opinion is that the guardians of the Global definitely could've defeated Omni Man if they weren't ambushed and worked as a team, because Omni Man definitely feared them enough to take care of them in the way he did.
The fact that I’m the original timeline he aimed to take out green ghost as fast as possible makes so much sense cause Green ghost can hurt him badly from inside
I want to see a variation of this story in how this fight would go down if Mark retained his powers as well.....
Who am i kidding, i just want to see a Dbz style clash with earthquakes and shockwaves and characters moving so fast they're unpercievable to the human eye. Also Mark with a rage boost👍🏻

Analyzing the guardians power sets and team work(based off the show, but it should also count for the comics, more or less), I think that they wouldn't have been able to kill Nolan, but probably defeat him. I can see some casualties still happening, but they got chances as long as they work togheter like the great superhero team they are meant to be
Dont downplay the guardians like that man haha.
I do hope if they do this in the show, that the guardians win more cleanly with invincible by their side.
Omnia man with his skull broken: yup i totally didn't get hurt by War Woman's mace.
I mean, the series made that change to show that it wasn't imposible for them to defeat Omni man and that he was right about having to take them down, average Viltrumites weren't strong enough to beat the Guardian unless they could out number them, now take in count that sending 3 Viltrumites might had been enough but that a the same time Thragg considered Omni Man so strong that at least 3 viltrumites were needed to kill him.
As much as this season is good. Season 2 is just as good and honestly emotional for me
