- As so many bird photographers as myself, early spring is the prime for bird photography especially shorebirds, the migrating birds are comming back from their winter location to mate and nest and this is the ideal time for shorebird photography.
So I headed out to my favorite spot in search of birds to photograph and boy - there was birds, just not in my favor..
Follow along on a typical morning for a bird photographer, stunning conditions, alot of atmosphere, birds and people...

I think its great that you put out videos were you dont get that lucky with the photos. That just shows how the reality is for a bird photographer. Keep it up!

It doesn't matter how much effort you put in as a photographer if the birds don't want to play it's not your fault. If it was easy it definitely wouldn't be so much fun.
I just remind myself of the buzz I get when everything falls into place and I go home with lots of images.......I'm sure Trond has many days when he goes home empty handed.
Couldn’t said better myself, it’s the hard work and struggle which makes the photo so much more than just a photo!
Regarding Trond, yes I think so too much respect to him to be able to push so much content as ge does! 😊🙏
I can tell you that I have a lot of these trips you are showing here 😅 No doubt that this is a big part of being a wildlife photography. With that said, you always learn something new when you are out. Where to place the blind next time and so on.... You never go home "empty handed" :) Keep up the good work Andy. 🙌

I totally agree with Trevor. That's the life of a wildlife photographer and I'm sure most RUclipsrs only show their best of moments and days. And... at least I heard you whispering again 😂.
Haha yes me too, I think it’s imporant to show the failure and not to try and glorify wildlife photography, it’s hard work to get good photos 🙏😊
Oh yes, bad day are super frequents but staying in nature always worth. Anyway, good footage Andy. Just a question: were you using the tragopan hokky?
Always worth it no matter if you return with a full sd card or not! 🙏
Yes I tend to use the hokki when trying to record video, less exposed to people when recording myself 😂🙏
Will make a video about the hokki v3 with my thoughts about it soon
@@AndyGustavsson Thanks Andy. I've got the hokki v3 but I still have to decide how to stay inside in chilly days, maybe using a sleeping bag??? What do you use to stay more warm?
@@GiuseppeGessa sleeping matt and a down sleeping bag if it’s really cold. You could invest in a wool liner for your sleeping bag it makes a huge different!
