The reporting here is misleading- 1:44 the reporter stated that the plaintiffs asked for 150 million and said that the award of 4 Million falls short of that number. They didn’t mention that this trial is a bifurcated trial meaning there are two parts and that it’s usually in the second half of a bifurcated trial that the majority of the money is awarded. So, it’s much more accurate to say that they have been awarded “at least 4 million”. The commentators on this show mentioned that there will be other trials with other parents, which is true, but the thing is THIS trial is not over yet and there may be more money awarded in this trial itself.
So 'the answer' is often to award x-millions from an ex- social media star for misleading the listeners that chose to believe him? IDK.
If being slandered pays, there's been millions of victims.

Freedom of speech isn't unlimited and while you can say what you want people still have to face the consequences for their choices, especially when that choice is to make up horrendous lies about others that in turn have negative effects on those peoples lives.
