Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have made 3 sweaters already. One newborn, one 0 to 3 months and one 3 to 6 months. Thank you so much for this easy tutorial
I’m 89 and I am living in an assisted care apartment most of my SSI is used to pay for everything I need, I receive left over yarn which I use to crochet and I give all to needy people. This pattern would be a blessing to me I will use it and I don’t charge anyone that I give the finished items to
I also think..to follow the stitch pattern in the body of the sweater..when doing the sleeves..turn after chaining 3 at the beginning of each round. Really gives it a nice finished look. Thanks for the tutorial! Good job.
Thank you for this tutorial. I made a beautiful sweater for my 2 year old. I slipped stitched into the first round of double crochet and I worked in rounds. I then whip stitched the neck band
Measure circumference of your child's neck. Length of your ribbing part should be equal to that circumference. On row 1 instead of 50 chains you will have your own number. Take out 4 chains(for V stitches), devide to 10. For example: if you have 64, (64-4)/10=6. Now you have to make 3 parts - front, sleeves, back. Front and back part will be 3*6 and sleeves will be 2*6 (18,12,18,12). Divide front part to 2 , you will have 9. So your parts are: 9(half of front)+1(V stitch)+12(sleeve)+1(V stitch)+18(back)+1(V stitch)+12(2nd sleeve)+1(V stitch)+9(2nd half of front)=64(first number of chains). After all these arithmetics done, continue to crochet like in this video, but use your numbers. For example, in my pattern I have 50 stitches and I use formula (7+9+14+9+7)+4 (for V stithces): Row 2: chain 3 (counts as first dc here and in every row), turn, dc in next 6 sc, V-Stitch: dc, chain 1, dc in next stitch, dc in next 9 sc, V-Stitch: dc, chain 1, dc in next stitch, dc in next 14 sc, V-Stitch: dc, chain 1, dc in next stitch, dc in next 9 sc, V-Stitch: dc, chain 1, dc in next stitch, dc in last 7 sc. Instead you should make with formula (9+12+18+12+9)+4(for V stitches) if your first number of chains are 64: Row 2: chain 3 (counts as first dc here and in every row), turn, dc in next 8 sc, V-Stitch, dc in next 12 sc, V-Stitch, dc in next 18 sc, V-Stitch, dc in next 12 sc, V-Stitch, dc in last 9 sc. Number of you first chain should be multiple of 10+4(44,54,64,74). For bigger sizes make your sweater and sleeves longer. Use you child's cloth for comparison.
Great one except I did a search for mu 6 month old granddaughter who is in 12 months, its almost done and I have to start over lol... it looks like it would fit a doll... Great VIDEO btw. Easy to understand and the count came out right every time. ..Or I suppose I coud get her a doll and she could use it for that and make a matching one lol.... .. moving on... have a beautiful Holiday with you and yours
Thanks madame for ur baby sweater tutorial can i make this same pattern for baby boy i liked ur way of making understanding the tutorial i will sure make and once i complete i will put on ur post iam from india i like crocheting but we dnt get the same yarn here
from the first number of chains take out 4 (for raglan lines) and devide to 6. Lets say you have X stitches, 2X will be back part, 2X front part, X and X sleeve part. If your first number is 100, take out 4=96 and devide to 6 =16. 32 stitches will be back part, 16+16 front part and 16-16 sleeve parts.
Measure circumference of your child's neck. Length of your ribbing part should be equal to that circumference. On row 1 instead of 50 chains you will have your own number. Hi, I didn't make video with hat. I made hat with this pattern, but in different colors, thinner yarn and smaller hook ruclips.net/video/MCTX9hIoipE/видео.html
Hello Ani, this is my first baby sweater i am working. I love this patten and i think this is such a cute sweater. I am not sure if i am reading the pattern incorrectly or maybe not following the visual directions. Because i love this pattern you shared with everyone i refuse to give up. I follow both the visual and written instruction very carefully and can't get it right. I see that you increased in each row that follow the first row you have double crochet in and when your finished with the seventh row it seems like you increased each row, which gives the first part of the sweater clear angles. Do you have any suggestions that can help me make this cute baby sweater. PS. Can you show me where it mentions the increases in the row with the double crochets ROW 1 -7 Thank you.:)
Hello, you should not give up, because it's very easy. In every row I'm making 4 V stitches. Each V stitch consists from (dc,chain 1,dc). When in pattern it says to dc in each dc, you should dc also in V stitch dc's and make V stitches in chain 1 spaces. This will make increase.
SUZYB13 You should do 60 in the first row. Then on the 2nd row they will increase to 64 because of the "V"s. If you do 64 on 1st you will end up with 68 on the 2nd.
Hi, I've made several of these in the 0-3 month size. I read below about what you said about making it bigger. Would the 64 be sc's be the right amount Stitches for a 2 year old. I'm not too good at mathematics lol
For rows 3 through 7, it says to crochet 6 double crochet, then a v stitch. But in row 8, it says to double crochet in the next 12 until you reach the first v stitch. How is this possible if there are only 7 double crochet (including the chain 3) before the first v stitch?
Cody Russ V stitch consists from dc, chain1, dc. When it says dc in each dc, you should also dc in V stitch dc-s. So, with every row number of dc are increasing
Thanks for this same question. .. Because there happens to be only 7 stitches" i was left wondering how it had become 12 stitches. ....and to think i had crocheted all the way to find out this huge discrepancy. .... Your video isnt as descriptive then....
Ani Tugushi omg I should have read the post I started and came out with a square small sweater not really a sweater too ugh when I finish it didn’t line up like her video now have to take out all the yarn apart
There must be something I'm not understanding. I'm not getting your calculations in the beginning to 50 total when you start the first round of V-stitches. First 3 chains count as one dc, then 6 dc, 1 v-stitch (which takes up two chains), then 9 dc and so on. Think I'm misunderstanding the V-stitches because otherwise I end up missing 3 chains when ending with 7 dc.
Ah found the answer. You write dc, chain 1, dc in next stitch but from the video you look to be doing a dc in the same stitch when making the V-stitches
I used 2 strands of light weight yarn, it is equal to #4 worsted weight. Check out this for size info: www.turtlecrochet.com/single-post/2017/11/30/How-to-Crochet-Baby-Jacket-with-Zipper
Sorry, I don't have pattern for bigger size. You can check out this patterns: www.myhobbyiscrochet.com/2014/10/crochet-unisex-baby-sweater-heartbeat.html www.myhobbyiscrochet.com/2013/11/toddler-cardigan-charted-pattern-by.html ruclips.net/video/0OtoDS6GeyE/видео.html
Agree. I don't like sewing and I don't like joining rounds. So, I finally made jacket out of my sweater. I sewed zipperon it , also added cord around the neck, because it was too wide for my baby and I added sleeve ribbing. instagram.com/p/Bb2PyEYhoeH/?taken-by=turtle_whicky
Hi there. Is there anyway you can tell me how long your ribbing for the neck comes out? I mean how many inches. I'm making this for a baby and I can fit this around my own neck. I did 50 rows as per instructions. I'm a bit confused, can anyone help me please ?
Yes, it can. chain 3 at the beginning of every round and slip stitch to 3rd chain after finishing the round. Actually it's easier, I just wanted to make cardigan and then decided to sew ends and make jumper.
lorena malaret you can. After making single crochet on the neck band, slip stitch into the first single crochet or you can double crochet on the single crochet and slip stitch into the chain 3 made at the beginning. I hope you understand what I am trying to say
Measure circumference of your child's neck. Length of your ribbing part should be equal to that circumference. On row 1 instead of 50 chains you will have your own number. SUZYB13 They are not. Neckline is the same, but you should increase raglan line, until you reach desired size ( see sizes graph). For 0-3 month it's 13 cm, for 2 year old it's 17 cm. I guess my instructions are not very clear, will work on it.

While I'm not a fan of just subtitles. I appreciate that you don't have the annoying music that a lot of the videos with subtitles put in.

Thank you so much for this cute crochet pattern. It was easy and peaceful to follow!
I also think..to follow the stitch pattern in the body of the sweater..when doing the sleeves..turn after chaining 3 at the beginning of each round. Really gives it a nice finished look. Thanks for the tutorial! Good job.
I've just made the little jumper , very easy to do I love it thankyou very much

Thank you for this tutorial. I made a beautiful sweater for my 2 year old. I slipped stitched into the first round of double crochet and I worked in rounds. I then whip stitched the neck band

Number of you first chain should be multiple of 10+4(44,54,64,74).
For bigger sizes make your sweater and sleeves longer. Use you child's cloth for comparison.

Amazing Dear 💗❤️👍
Thanks madame for ur baby sweater tutorial can i make this same pattern for baby boy i liked ur way of making understanding the tutorial i will sure make and once i complete i will put on ur post iam from india i like crocheting but we dnt get the same yarn here
Hi really it's good, I did same as it is.... My intention I wanna little big.. If do 150 chains..how to take Partition
First chain length should be circumference of the head. What type of yarn are you using? I think 150 chains will be too big
@@AniTugushi normal indian wala wollen, it's not strechable wollen
U did with 50 chains,,
So i planned to take 100 chains
from the first number of chains take out 4 (for raglan lines) and devide to 6. Lets say you have X stitches, 2X will be back part, 2X front part, X and X sleeve part. If your first number is 100, take out 4=96 and devide to 6 =16. 32 stitches will be back part, 16+16 front part and 16-16 sleeve parts.
@@AniTugushi so sweet thank u so much la
If don't.stitch up.can you just add buttons And have a button down sweater. Great video just wish there was sound
Yes you can, check this: www.turtlecrochet.com/single-post/2017/11/30/How-to-Crochet-Baby-Jacket-with-Zipper
Thanks dear

Hi,I need this same pattern for 2 years
Ciao Ani ! bellissimo tutorial ! Saluti dalla Sicilia!

VERY NICE.
You do beautiful work. Thank you so much!
Awwwwww so cute!!!!
How do I make this in a bigger size?
Wow lovely. Is it possible you provide me with the instruction for 2 years baby sweater? I would be really grateful to u
Ani Tugushi Thank you so much.xoxo

Do you have a book? I would like to buy your crochet book pattern, you patterns are easy to understand,
Is it for a boy hun
He wants to do a 3 year old child as I enlarge ?
Ani Tugushi , yes I've read all, that but still am confused. For example, if I'm using 64 do I do 60 or 64? You did 50 on the video...
SUZYB13 You should do 60 in the first row. Then on the 2nd row they will increase to 64 because of the "V"s. If you do 64 on 1st you will end up with 68 on the 2nd.
If I take 74 chains, the front will be 7*3 is 21. Devide the front into 2, I will have 10,5. How can I do the formular like you. Thanks in advance.
Para niño de tres años gracias
Hi, I've made several of these in the 0-3 month size. I read below about what you said about making it bigger. Would the 64 be sc's be the right amount Stitches for a 2 year old. I'm not too good at mathematics lol

I started trying to make this and it's turned out really small - what yarn thickness should I use to crochet this? ❤
Sorry, I should say, how do I double up the strand? Do you just have two balls of yarn alongside eachother?
I used 2 strands of medium yarn, you can also try worsted weight yarn
I need measurements for a two year old

Maam.. for 3-6 months how many chain do i need to stitch
Begin the same and add 1-2 more rows in raglan line (before you join for sleeves)
Is there a reason for using two strands of yarn or can the sweater be crocheted using one strand?
You can use one strand of medium yarn. I had fine yarn, so I used two strands to make it thicker.
Ani Tugushi thank you 👍
Can I know for which age baby u did this...
Ani Tugushi ohhhh understood!! Thanks so much!
Thanks for this same question. .. Because there happens to be only 7 stitches" i was left wondering how it had become 12 stitches. ....and to think i had crocheted all the way to find out this huge discrepancy. ....
Your video isnt as descriptive then....
Damie Ife-Adeniyi her video desription was perfect. You didn't folliw it. You must be a novice. Why do you want to blame her for your mistake?
Hi, you are right. V stitch is made in one stitch. I meant (dc,chain 1, dc) in next stitch. Sorry for confusing instructions
Ani Tugushi Ah! :) Well as I said I was the one who misunderstood. Excellent tutorial though!
thanks :)
In the list of materials needed it says, 4mm hook. but your hook is 3.75mm
WHY?
Hi, it was my mistake. After 2:47 I changed hook to 4 mm
ابنفىةر
How much yarn in total is used between the 3 colors?
I don't remember exactly, but it was around 80 grams
How many inches broad is this sweater??
oh i forgot to ask how can i make zhis shirt in bigger sizes for kids?
Sorry, I don't have pattern for bigger size.
You can use bulky yarn and bigger hook

can you make this with dk yarn?
If you use this pattern with dk yarn it will be very small. I used 2 strands of dk yarn to make it thicker
Can I use light weight #3 baby yarn and what size hook for a size 5 year old
I used 2 strands of light weight yarn, it is equal to #4 worsted weight. Check out this for size info: www.turtlecrochet.com/single-post/2017/11/30/How-to-Crochet-Baby-Jacket-with-Zipper
how old are you?
I'm 26. Why?
How do I make this for a baby that's 9 months?

Elena Zunzunegui Castelán , I am using worsted yarn and went up to 4.5 hook. It seems to be working so far. You could always go up to a 5.
Pretty ..but that seam up the back ruins it

Hello, neckline is about 34 cm (13 inches)
Thank you☺☺☺

Hi, it fits 2-3 month baby
Ani Tugushi thanks
fazalullah swat ابلىىبدف
I love it
can it be done in the round instead of having to sew it together at the end?
Yes, it can. chain 3 at the beginning of every round and slip stitch to 3rd chain after finishing the round. Actually it's easier, I just wanted to make cardigan and then decided to sew ends and make jumper.
lorena malaret you can. After making single crochet on the neck band, slip stitch into the first single crochet or you can double crochet on the single crochet and slip stitch into the chain 3 made at the beginning. I hope you understand what I am trying to say

How can all the sizes up to 2 be the same as 0-3 months????
SUZYB13 They are not. Neckline is the same, but you should increase raglan line, until you reach desired size ( see sizes graph). For 0-3 month it's 13 cm, for 2 year old it's 17 cm. I guess my instructions are not very clear, will work on it.
Where's the volume... Why can't u talk and explain
There is no sound, only subtitles. Cause my English is not so good to talk and explain. I use translate and dictionaries to write instructions.
