By the way So Hyang is a cancer survivor and has frequent bouts of pneumonia, she had only just got out of hospital after a bout here so she isn't at her peak, but this is still my favourite performance.

After this she went back to the hospital to continue her therapy. Thank god and "Everyone's" prayers she was able to perform for us again after two years hiatus. Lovely reaction on this human gem.

She is best singer not only because her technique is flawless but also her interpretation and absolute delivery of songs 100% even more to the audience. Therefore, when I listen to her singing I feel like watching drama or movie. One thing more, it shocked me when I knew that she suffered severe flu during her stage of 'You raise me up'. I really love your videos.
So Hyang said in a rare interview that she graced a RUclips vocal coach from Turkey (Emre Yucelen) with that the most difficult song she ever performed is Everyone and her reason was sustaining her breath .. amoung her fans Everyone is her her very best song but Arirang Alone with her Bb5 mixed belt is her signature song .. in all honesty all her songs are amazing in their own right ...She also has diversity in genre's aside from CCM and Ballads even Rock (Mona Lisa) and HipHop/Rap (Day Day) from the original S. Sohyang is an absolute vocal powerhouse! One of the best singers ever in my opinion! And I love her arrangements and musicality on top of her vocal ability! I don't know if someone else commented this already, but I know you wondered exactly how high she can belt, and, so far, she has shown the ability to belt up to C#6 with no strain! Her belts up to G5 in this performance, while stunning, are quite easy for her! One of the best belters ever without a doubt. I'd highly recommend checking out her performances of "Arirang Alone" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water" next for even more insane vocals and complex, emotional arrangements!

Hi! I’m from Australia too and awesome to see an Aussie do a reaction vid. Thank you so much for it =] I just wanted to point out I’ve been a huge fan of hers for a while. Along with a lot of people who felt the need to comment as well. But I wanted to point out something to give her voice and reason for singing abit of context. She’s a very bubbly person who says herself that she talks too much, she sings for the purpose that it might help assuage people during their darkest times (probably why she sings even when she’s ill). Given how technically gifted she is, its no mistake why a lot of people who listen to her are almost always reduced to tears cause the sheer amount emotions she carries in her performance. We all know how much of a difference it makes when a singer really believes every word they are singing. Hope you do more reactions in the future!
The most amazing thing about that performance is she was very ill and was told not to sing or speak but carried on and did the show to not let anyone down she is an amazing person and artist hopefully you can do more reactions to her

Great reaction... be prepared to be shaken every time you listen to her sing. That beast of an arrangement was done by her. She does all her own arrangements, and they all as stunning as her singing . This is to me, what makes her so amazing. She is not just a singer, but a complete musician and artist. Rare bread, these days. ( I Guess as a musician, I appreciate that more than an average listener). Everything she decides to sing, winds up an experience, not just a song. If I was the original artist, I would tell her to put her name on the song, because there would be no way I would sing that again.....lol You are spot on as far as the age is concerned (no need to eat your hat). She is about 41 here, and also (by the way) battling pneumonia during this performance. She was advised not to talk and sang this. Her belts as mentioned by " afro jack" go as high as an C#6, or at least that is as high as I have heard. She is not well known in the western world, because she opted not to sing for fame and fortune, but to help those who are struggling in life. This stems from a battle with cancer, which she survived, but left her unable to have children. She is now a gospel singer. One thing I am sure you will notice if you listen to her perform. She is never about showing off her vocal skills, but about delivering the song. Yes, the arrangement are done to accommodate he vocal abilities, but they are done in such a way. that they beautify the music. I am all about quality of music and she delivers every single time !!! Amazing Singer, Musician and all around artist. She has it all... just stunning!!!

Hi! I’m from Australia too and awesome to see an Aussie do a reaction vid. Thank you so much for it =] I just wanted to point out I’ve been a huge fan of hers for a while. Along with a lot of people who felt the need to comment as well. But I wanted to point out something to give her voice and reason for singing abit of context. She’s a very bubbly person who says herself that she talks too much, she sings for the purpose that it might help assuage people during their darkest times (probably why she sings even when she’s ill). Given how technically gifted she is, its no mistake why a lot of people who listen to her are almost always reduced to tears cause the sheer amount emotions she carries in her performance. We all know how much of a difference it makes when a singer really believes every word they are singing. Hope you do more reactions in the future!

The most amazing thing about that performance is she was very ill and was told not to sing or speak but carried on and did the show to not let anyone down she is an amazing person and artist hopefully you can do more reactions to her
I am very keen to watch more of Sohyangs singing! The illness thing, while dangerous, is incredible because you can't hear it at all!

@@Kalki70581 I truly believe the reverb adds the most beautiful quality to the opening. Even if she doesn't need it, utilising reverb isn't a crime and here it creates a stunning soundscape.

보지 말았어야 했는데 보기 시작하니 벌써 2시간동안 노래듣고 있다 .. ㅠㅜ 그리고 이 당시 소향은 폐렴이 걸린 상태였습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 보통 가수들보다도 어렵지 않게 불렀습니다. 설명이 불가능한 가수입니다.

great reaction. She has pneumonia while singing this and it's probably technically one of her least impressive/demanding performances so you have a lot of great reactions to her ahead of you!
Bridge over Troubled Water or Arirang Alone would be great next performances!
Great reaction... be prepared to be shaken every time you listen to her sing. That beast of an arrangement was done by her. She does all her own arrangements, and they all as stunning as her singing . This is to me, what makes her so amazing. She is not just a singer, but a complete musician and artist. Rare bread, these days. ( I Guess as a musician, I appreciate that more than an average listener). Everything she decides to sing, winds up an experience, not just a song. If I was the original artist, I would tell her to put her name on the song, because there would be no way I would sing that again.....lol
You are spot on as far as the age is concerned (no need to eat your hat). She is about 41 here, and also (by the way) battling pneumonia during this performance. She was advised not to talk and sang this. Her belts as mentioned by " afro jack" go as high as an C#6, or at least that is as high as I have heard. She is not well known in the western world, because she opted not to sing for fame and fortune, but to help those who are struggling in life. This stems from a battle with cancer, which she survived, but left her unable to have children. She is now a gospel singer.
One thing I am sure you will notice if you listen to her perform. She is never about showing off her vocal skills, but about delivering the song. Yes, the arrangement are done to accommodate he vocal abilities, but they are done in such a way. that they beautify the music. I am all about quality of music and she delivers every single time !!! Amazing Singer, Musician and all around artist. She has it all... just stunning!!!

So Hyang’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” is a personal favorite of mine and never fails to bring me to tears of joy. Along with this song. ♥️

Anyway, this shows much much much less than what she can actually do with her voice. "Arirang Alone" and "Everyone" are definitely her best performances. BOTH ARE MUST WATCH!!!!

Yep, Sohyang is insane and a genuine vocal beast, a true master 💖 . Monstrous mix/belt, ultra developed HV (not to mention heavenly, subjectively speaking), support for days, godly control over dynamics, etc. My personal fave is whenever she floats a pianissimo, super freaking difficult to pull off for those who know. Your reaction is to be expected from anyone with vocal pedagogy expertise, like finding a hidden gem, inside a hidden box, in a secret room 😁 .
