I'd honestly recommend practicing the fight solo. Playing with SOS players tends to just be chaotic, and half the time nobody knows what they're doing (and that's partially why I started doing this). Once you get in there and learn all of the quirks of the fight, I'm sure you can beat it easily.
Until then, I can definitely give you advice on the fight. Especially some of the lesser talked about stuff that you tend to learn the hard way.

@ I’ve been doing SOS quests because on paper it seems like an advantage but now that u say it yeah. I’m using furious Rajang long sword since the monkey is my fav monster but I’m open to new ideas

I’ve been trying fatalis for weeks now and haven’t had any luck as an insect glaive user, don’t have the absolute strongest armor using full alatreon set besides my raging brach boots, can’t even get to Fatalis first big attack!

@Princetut10 I can definitely recommend using Great Sword because you really have to pay attention to what moves the monster is doing and what moves the monster can do next in order to get some good attacks in. There's definitely nothing wrong with playing Long Sword against it though, but you can't approach it like you would most monsters in the game. Most monsters you can just keep attacking until you need to dodge, but Alatreon can easily punish you for playing like that. You really have to pay attention to its moves and attack when there's a clear opening, and I'm sure that applies to all weapons.
Dragon and Temporal mantles are perfectly fine, especially if that's what you're comfortable using. I use Rock steady for safer clutch clawing, and either Dragon or Evasion Mantle.
