The Forbidden Monsters

- A remake of my recent video, removing all 15th anniversary footage (which led to my problem with copyright strikes). I also took the opportunity to fix the export issues on the nicknames of the monsters, and add in ecology videos for each monster to give you the complete package!
A good way of looking at it is that everyone in the universe of Monster Hunter were taught tales of a "black dragon" that brought death and destruction, but on one knows what it might look like, so it makes sense that all 5 of these would, in the minds of the people who live in the world, all be called the Black Dragon of legend, even if they are technically different. They can't distinguish and categorized them anyway, as that would suggest there are sightings and people are aware of the nature of these monsters, which they are not. Monsters like Gogma have been sighted, people know its behavior, so it really cant be confused with some ancient tale passed down from generation to generation. Hope that makes sense.
They could call them the forbidden not forbidden monsters. ;)
@gaijin hunter what is your favorite forbidden black dragons for me crimson fatalis what about you?
I like to think that the real black dragon was the equal dragon weapon, they tried to program it to target elder dragons but for some reason it targeted the wyverian scientists "something in their genes that connects them to elders?" then fatalis and the rest showed up and was like "stupid baby rajangs, why do we have to clean up after yourselves?" and destroyed it before it could wipe out the world... and decimated shrade just to be sure that won't happen again.
Although I’m new to MH I learn the lore by watching RUclips so that make me interested in MH qwq
It's interesting that the story for Iceborne said the name Fatalis underwent the opposite process. It used to be a generic term for a "state of existence" and then permanently became associated with that specific monster.
"Let me give it to you nice and sloppy."

Thats one for the history books
Lmao
Ftw 😂
😂😂😂😂
this is epic
My friend and I used to love trying to hunt alatreon with our crappy gold beard Cedeus armour and our deviljho weapons. It was a great time.
What about now
That was mh3u. We don’t really play together much anymore.
@@tydresen3905 Damn... that hits close to home. Me and my buddies from high school played every MH game from 2nd G (Freedom Unite) to MH4U.
Skip to the present, we no longer keep in touch. All I have are the videos we recorded as a group of MH3U...
Same bro
Paulo Penado 😞
Monsters so forbidden that Capcom goes out of their way and issues strikes to anyone who dare talk about them!
But for real glad you can work it out
I find it kind of ironic that in a world with some crazy looking monsters, one of the most powerful and feared is a generic-looking fantasy dragon.
@Alex Hicks There's also a special kind of irony in saying a big ass dragon has an "unassuming appearance."
For me it’s always what made them intimidating. In a world filled with exploding T-Rex boxers and gundam beetle tanks the fact that the strongest monster of them all is just a dragon is just... it seems impossible and yet it’s true.
Simplicity is key, why work harder biologically when you don't have to
That’s one of my favorite parts about it. A world with crazy looking creatures, the most powerful and feared is a regular looking dragon.
Well... it kinda makes sense. If they are truly the very first monsters to ever exist, it would explain why they look so basic since all the other monsters would have evolve from them; hence why other monsters have added features based on their surroundings since they have been exposed to the evolution mechanism we know of, while the likes of fatalis have been living presumably since the very beginning. So yeah they'll most likely keep their generic look since unlike the other monsters, they are not active, have a natural habitat, and much more factors.
Regardless if its a reupload ima watch it again you deserve a ton of support
Should Capcom decide to bring the Black Dragons, especially Fatalis, ESPECIALLY White Fatalis to MHW:IB, I hope they revamp them so that they feel like an overwhelming threat. A battle where you fight for your life. A nightmare come alive. A world ending calamity, as if you are facing God himself. Capcom has the means to do it. Make the Black Dragons a fight that will be remembered in years.
Win or your character's save is permanently deleted.
@@eandlbloodflower6765 I think it's a bit too much for players to handle, just make it like mhfz. In mhfz one of white fatalis attack make character disappear from party.
most of frontier fights feels like that. i still got nightmares of white espinas
@Adam Stolar That's lame, there are tons of awesome monsters they have brought from previous games and they change them dramatically to the point they are basically new monsters. It'd also be a major shame if new players never get to fight the strongest monster in all of monster hunter, Fatalis.
To make it work they must recreate a lot of things. Even though,if we connect the origins of White Fatalis and the thousands of years a Fatalis can live,we can see that the power level increases incredibly and you can have several levels of threat from what can be considered a "adult" Fatalis (i like to divide them to true adults and subadults),so the fights we took in the main series were not so inaccurate (still could use some improvement),the feel of destruction and hatred for humanity the Fatalis seeks must be passed to the player in a better way. Also they could use a fleeing animation, because as far as i know, the Fatalis that was defeated in all these games (and who's fight has been recreated a billion times) is the crimson Fatalis you face later. The existence of more siege weapons could also help at passing the feeling of STRONG DRAGON and finally they could use some 1 shot attacks because black flame.
Welcome back Gaijin! Great to see this awesome video back after what must have been a horrendous week for you. Keep it up!
What happened this week? I know he had some kindof copyright thing I think.
@@robertwatkins3602 he got copyright striked twice for some reason that probably wasn't necessary by CAPCOM themselves. If you get striked 3 times within a period of time ur channel gets fully terminated. Content, messages, everything. Gone. Gaijin mentioned that he wouldn't post videos until the strikes reset to make sure he keeps his utube channel. It's very stressful considering he coulda lost more than 5 years of work and his livelihood. Also note he is a single dad of one.
“This has nothing to do with Iceborne”
Alatreon: Allow me to reintroduce myself
Vet Players: *PTSD intensifies*
Edit: As a noob I never fought Fatalis but damn that doesn’t mean I’m not hyped! I know he’s a huge figure in the lore, I really hope they give him a great move set and not make him a generic dragon fight
I have been thinking back on this video when they released the trailer for Alatreon, iirc the final dlc for 4U was crimson Fatalis and with MH devs finally becoming more lax with the secrecy of the black dragons by showing them off for the 15th anniversary, and now Alatreon coming to Icebourne. It makes me hope that Fatalis will be the final free dlc that they'll release for World/Icebourne and cement Fatalis' appearence in the MH lore.
Kimchivender I’ll admit, mhw is my first and only game of the series, but I’ve listened to the lore and it is very interesting. I really do hope the devs do something like that, but with so much added to the game already that’s free, I feel like we might be real close to the limit. But if not.....maybe they would add Fatalis as a siege??
@@malisk02 Never underestimate. If you played 4u, Freedom Unite or 3u there was a bunch of free content and support for those. I played 4u for years so I wouldn't put it past em. :)
THREE ELEMENTS, prepare for elemental defense L and Defense L meals lol
I wanna see them put the 4U Demon Crimson Fatalis (As I call it) in Iceborne. It would be awesome. Not that it would make any sense.
fun fact:
Fatalis is an elder dragon kind that fought the early monster hunters eons ago. The descriptions of weapons and quest tells so
I've always held 4 Ultimate's Crimson Fatalis as the peak standard for what an Elder Dragon should feel like. Every time I watch that intro cutscene, with the despair-inducing soundtrack and the screen completely-scorching-red, I get goosebumps. I was always worried my 3DS was going to burst into flames just from playing the video.
Other Elder Dragons are powerful, intimidating, and may even look cooler, but if I was told the Crimson could melt the world itself through sheer body heat, I'd believe it.
Glad to see everything has been settled!
The monster hunter community wouldn’t have been the same without your presence
We'd have to figure out how to use the weapons ourselves.
I've been playing since the first on PS2 but really earned my stripes on Freedom for PSP. Back then there wasn't a lot of help for these games and it wasn't until several years later I'd found Gaijin. Used to have to make threads of our own asking for advice, discussing weapons, general strategy with everything for years to come. I've gotten a few friends to play and to this day I still do with a good friend, and GaijinHunter has been an absolute godsend.
We were talking about him last night and how integral he is to this series, IMO it really wouldn't be the same without him and just a disaster if he were gone. I'm freaking ecstatic how many people play now and how popular it is, and he really deserves his due for helping so damn many of us over the years.
For me, the OG fatalis will always hold a special place in my heart, especially because of the lore around him
3:43 When you are on the platform of Iceborne Castle Schrade and Fatalis glares at you as he is walking forward on his two legs. Fatalis prefers being on four as he is much faster and can maul hunters. He occasionally walks on two simply to mock the slow walking monkeys facing him.
Whenever i hear "Forbidden Monster", Equal Dragon Weapon always comes up on my mind
Have you read the lore?
Whether or not it’s actually canon is ambiguous
Just love that its the most Japanese name for a weapon.
I don't know why but I just love the Fatalis in general, it`s my favorite Monster from all Monster Hunter Games, not because of the style of the Fight. But because it looks soo elegant and timeless classic and has something mysterious about it. It looks kinda more ``realistic`` to other. You feel me Guys?
💯Facts Ik what you mean it gives you the vibe of a "True Dragon" I personally think white fatalis is the most beautiful and elegant monster of the whole franchise. Just the fact that he infused the dragon element with the lightning element is amazing
Always loved that the Flagships are almost always mid-tier monsters and that you're never even hinted at the last boss of the game. It makes it a wonderful moment when you can finally challenge them.
*A cataclysm given a form appears, looking at the hunter menacingly, with only that being enough to convey what a destructive force of nature this is.*
Fatalis: mlem
I watched this video before it was taken down by Capcom, and I am watching it again. :) I always love hearing about the lore behind the different monsters, especially anything about the Elder Dragons, and I think knowing the lore of the universe helps me enjoy the games more than I normally would. Thank you for all these amazing videos.
I have shamefully never encountered any of these awesome creatures in my years of playing Monster Hunter.
only ever hunted the Dire Miralis and Aletreon in 3U
@@Knight_Igris I always played single player so I was never good enough to see them much less fight/beat them.
Happy to see you back on your feet!

The other is red

@@hizpanicGam3r shara and xeno are basically black dragons imo
They can technically all be referred to as “Fatalis” if I’m not mistaken. The lore people in the MH team really love to confuse the shit out of people with their naming conventions...
I really hope they bring the fatalis trio back in iceborne.
I can only imagine the new version of the white fatalis song. I'd lose my mind. Love that track.
They better not fall easy prey to Nergi.

Please don't ever stop being you Gaijin, because the world needs a lot more people like you.
Thank you for keeping this up. I don't have friends that play, so the RUclips MH community are the closest thing I have. You do amazing work. Thank you.

watching the vid again even after seeing it before the copyright claim because this channel deserves all the love it gets
Crimson was my fave, that insect glaive of his was on a different level. I hope that returns one day.
This is so cool. Thanks for this video, Gaijin. I sometimes stop playing MH, but your videos always get me hyped for MH again. I've been a fan since MH1 on PS2. I've loved it ever since. Fatalis is definitely my favorite Elder Dragon. Anyways, thank you for your videos!
That’s really cool gajin, thanks for the reupload, and I’m sorry you had to join our discord that way, you are nothing but appreciated there :)
And now it comes full circle 15 years later killing him in HD
Watching this after getting roasted to ashes by MHW Fatalis a dozen times
Lol
Keep in mind that the monster releases next month, therefore there will be a reveal this month. They did this with every other monster
Dire Miralis is my favorite, and it’s a shame that it won’t ever return in subserquent releases.
Who knows? If they perfect the underwater mechanic, it probably will. :)
Who ever said that? I think it won’t return so long as underwater combat isn’t a thing. The game engine for MHW looks like it can do underwater combat pretty damn well, so we’ll have to see.
He Will return just like lagiacrus wait for the ps5 Monster Hunter game Capcom won't let us down
Eorzat They said their goal with water combat was to push omni-directional combat, and since they weren’t happy with it, they replaced it with the better climbing and mounting. I don’t know how underwater combat would work with mounting or the slinger or the insect glaive in the game, and I don’t expect water combat to come back any time soon because of that.
i'm sure they plan on fixing underwater combat sometime and adding it as a staple
From a lore perspective, I wonder if there is a relation between Dire Miralis and Zorah Magdaros
Mabe zoraagnamowhatever is a full full grown one
@@theduckman8137 nope
@Adam no name no zorah magdaros ain’t a black dragon, on the other hand miralis is, I mean it literally killed any life form in the sea that is residing know called the crimson sea.
@Adam Stolar it still isn't a black dragon
@Adam Stolar He wasn't downplaying Zorah, he literally stated a fact. While Zorah is a very powerful monster he isn't a black dragon, black dragon's are the strongest monsters in monster hunter. Saying a feat of Miralis isn't downplaying new monsters, it's just showing his might and the difference between a non-black dragon and a black dragon.
Coming from someone who never played any of the older games with their first and only being world. Don't be biased against old monsters because you like the new one better.
I'm happy you're back to doing what you love.
My intro to MH was 3 Tri, and I remember those Alatreon runs were sometimes stressful. What was even more stressful was trying to break it's horns (just for a small chance for it to appear in the rewards) without a hammer user or gunner. (I was/am neither of those and I know 3U fixed that parameter.) Still the coolest elder imho as it dished out every element except water.
That last mission you have to complete solo is so hard
As someone who started in MHW, I appreciate this a lot. Thanks! :)
Yeah but sad he didn't show the real fatalises in the Original MH games for portable, since their design is better and their looks....
Man the armor for white fatalis looks sick - it straight up looks like dmc devil trigger.
Appreciate the video, I absolutely love hearing the developer and designers thoughts and other commentary style stuff.
Great to see you back m8 your vids really helped me grow from a newb hunter to one that is atkeast a lityle more respectable
The variant crimson fatalis I have “hunted” once, and never again. He killed me 3 times in a row within the first minute and half of the quest. I was with some randoms and they posted the quest so I thought to myself, “ok, I can help and maybe get the ig, cool” and then that happens. I will also point out I had hear his theme once prior, and said to my friend, “yeah, whatever that song belongs I don’t want to fight, that’s not gonna be fun..” so when I heard the song start I immediately facepalmed knowing I got into a fight with something I had no intention of fighting. Lol
Happy to have you back man!
And then Dire Moralis packed up a lot of volcanic rocks thanks to Alatreon, and then departed to the new world under the name of Zorah Magdaros after gaining a few kilos.
I’m confident Black Fatalis will show up in IB, given how clean and high quality the model is in the anniversary video. The other two, I can’t say, but I would hope Flaming Crimson Fatalis shows up as well.
I do agree Dire Morales seems unlikely, by construction. Too bad Akantor and Ukanlos are similarly unlikely, even as non elders
I'm glad you got the copyright issues sorted man.
Will always love Fatalis the most, I've been playing the series since it start, the demo disc for MH on the PS2 that came with DMC.
Fatalis will always be the strongest monster to me and I love the White Fatalis being the ancestor of all Elder Dragons, the idea that every monster outside he scope of the natural order started with this one truly ancient creature, which for me will also always make it the top dog.
Here is to the Fatalis brothers may they rule for all time and turn up in MHWI.
I always love how this channel put informative videos yet very relaxing to watch. Pokke village theme song therapy is no joke
Yo master gaijin sir do you intend on doing a akantor feature? He's my favorite monster and armor. I would REALLY enjoy you talking about him :D
Also, do you think shara ishvalda kind of reminds of it?(dint fought him yet so may be wrong here).
not gonna lie I'm kinda scared of this video being up
Sorta have the fear of Capcom going all "There is another" Yoda
Because, that is what Capcom and Monster universe wants you, to be scared on this world.
That backgroud soundtrack from this video, i used it to calm down during 2022 worldcup. I supported Argentina and most of their game gave me panicked nervous situation. I will always remember this soundtrack
Fatalis: I'm immortal and you become me one day
White fatalis: The hot fish god
Crimson Fatalis: It's facking RAW!
I thought white fatalis is the last one

Woo! 🎊 Glad Capcom has allowed you to upload a re-edited version.
This is a great video for all us fans of MH, I'm happy that this strike situation had been resolved. Keep on doing awesome stuff
It’s good to see you back again, Gaijin! I hope you get better and don’t have to feel afraid anymore in the future.
I'm hoping that for the next game they re-introduce water combat, make it faster and make its controls easier, because I really want Dire Miralis to come back. I love its theme, its fight, and its equipment.
Special Variant Crimson Fatty has my favorite theme music from all the monsters. So epic, yet bone chilling. Such a memorable fight too!
Yeah personally I think they should have kepted that theme for him going into MHGU.
Now I understand why you were hyping the monster intros from MH4U on Twitter lol
Those Monsters(Elder Dragons) aren't ban or can't be fought on the game it's simply "HIDDEN" Just like in MHFU The 3 Fatalis can be fought on after you beat specific no. Of certain elder dragons
I love the moralis armour! Reminds me of the nerscylla armour but more beefy. I started playing from 4U so I'd never heard of it until this video.
It's nice that the armor is available in 4U
I really want to see Alatreon in World. They did color change for it in the fight, but it's not very distinguishable like in the concept art, it doesn't really make you scream "It's white", "It's red"!
Now it's more of "Oh there's a little white glowing under it's scales
Imagine they made it completely different color everytime it changes element, that's gonna look amazing
This was an awesome exhibit! I was able to see it in yokohama earlier this year.
Oh. YES. The OG is returning! I'm on the hype train!
Been waiting for the reupload hopefully it gets more views than the original
I love the just holy sh*t addition to the theme
Glad everything worked out Gaijin. I'll be glad to catch up on videos when Iceborn comes out on PC.
Back on the psp in mhfu I remember solo hunting the white fatalis for days trying to get the armors,
My personal favorite is definitily Alatreon !
All of the Fatalis versions were an amazing experience, especially White/Old Fatalis.
I never got to fight Dire Miralis, but I also didn't really enjoy the bit of Water-Combat that i have tried out in general.
Really hope to see Alatreon back in Iceborne !
Wish granted
The pokke village bgm in your vid brings back memories lol
The first dragon has an Alduin feel to him....or maybe I just haven’t played Skyrim in a while. Lol
I dont know if it ia canon. But Capcom already dropped the bomb that one of the Forbiddwn Dragons is back in MHWI
yup alatreon is coming to ice born
@Adam Stolar Sorry. It is a typo accident.
Fun fact: white fatalis in frontier has an attack that will literally vaporize you, resulting in an instant quest failure
White Fatalis is definitely my favorite. While Fatalis himself is quite the presence, nothing say's godlike as how White fatalis is presented. Especially the theme music fits very well with White fatalis, it really conveys his age and experience. I remember fondly how tough it was to take down, his lightning bolts than could easily one shot you and if you weren't standing in a very specific spot were damn near unavoidable. His white, skin that glowed red when enraged was so hard to penetrate if you didn't have some very powerful end game weapons. And while slow moving you still had this sense of urge to take it down quickly because every second you spent with this deity of a dragon was one closer to your own demise.
Honestly the name itself is terrifying. Fatalis: Fatal, alias. The “Fat” part sounds like fate.
I've never fought any of these guys, but I like Alatreon the most. He looks the coolest in my opinion, and I've always really liked the notion of a monster that can change its elemental affinity. I'm a Final Fantasy fan and that concept is used a lot in those games.
Gotta love that vayu sedition slicing for crazy survivability!
Screen: terrifying monster
Music: just vibin' with my cat-boyz!
I had the pleasure of playing MH since the beginning. Alatreon is my personal Favorite, the swapping of elements makes for such a fun fight. Back in MH3U there was no Online unless you had a Wii(i did not) so it was up to me to hunt solo, until my lil bro got the game on his DS. After weeks of showing him the ropes and fleshing out our hunting tactics (he used Lance and i used HBG) we took on this monster together for the 1st time.... and we carted A LOT! It took us many tries to get that sweet victory over this black dragon. And to this day we go and hunt it on MHGU 10/10 fight.
i always support you bro. you help hunters a lot, be bless and stay forward... more videos :)
This is really awesome!
I'm really partial to MH3. I love the Dire Miralis
So idk if i have this right, does this mean that all these fellows are technically all a different Fatalis or is it rather just these are all "The Black Dragon" but only due to the fact that no one really knows what these monsters are so instead folks kinda all assume these 5 are actually just 1?
If you squint, Dire Miralis looks like Fatalis but with some key differences
It doesn't have wings used for flight, and it also stands in that bipedal stance the monster takes
Could've been a Fatalis but grown differently but hey, Elders are weird.
I started playing MH recently, starting with World and Gen U, but I love the lore of the monsters. This five look really cool, specialy the last one, it's a shame thet the underwater levels aren't out of tri.
could always get a 3DS to play 3U to fight old Aletreon and Dire Miralis or a Wii U to play 3U online
@@Knight_Igris I bought 3G.
2:35 I love to see the classic vaya sedition gunner set from MH4U. Good memories.
4 years go by so fast haha
Fatalis is such an eerie monster. His presence alone is enough for me and my friends to lose hope battling him.
you should make a video proving or disproving the myth that you can sever a tail with a blunt weapon if you hit it with just a tiny bit of cutting damage, like a boomerang, nice video btw
I like the idea that all of the monsters have super detailed and realistic Ecology, and then Fatalis just says “Get Rekked”
Thanks kindly for covering this!
...Although, as much as I fear/respect the challenge that they bring, none get me as tense as the dreaded...
Qurupeco. 🤣
I like how White Fatalis has his own theme cuz he’s such a legend
This makes me want to pick up GU again. Does the game still have a player base?
Mhgu? Yep, I still find people
There is still people on mh4u
It also makes sense now that in world they wanted to have records of them in case they pop again. I found it cool when it was mentioned how the alatreon records were burned due to be considered a legend, nothing more.
Remembering that I played on the ps2, now I can't remember why I hate this game before. But I do remember pokke village and fighting red khezu
The pokke Village Is on psp
@@Dave_Chrome there is no MH Freedom on PS2, the "Freedom" games were only for PSP
I think they should make a variant of Alatreon that can fully control all of the elements, and learned how to stabilize itself. Imagine fighting a fully realized avatar, I mean Alatreon?
Glad that Capcom followed the KISS rule when it came to creating the Fatalis, because it worked amazingly.
mahn... thanks for the reupload... fatalis takes me back to those good old days...
Amen. I miss the days when monsters were unfair and actually a challenge. Boss is named after being lethal and deadly, can literally one-shot you. You have two options: craft armor designed to prevent getting one-shot or git gud.
i mean.. there are still monsters that are unfair and challenging hahaha
Alatreon is such a cool monster. An Elementaly Unstable monster is so cool.
Man I remember fighting the Fatalis online in the first Monster Hunter game on the PS2!
I must say i do miss the epic monster fights that are actual monster fights like the Dalamadur. I did enjoy Jhen Mohran, and the other similar fights like it throughout the series... but they aren't really fights so much as endurance tests, or tests of patience. With it being so heavily teased in base Monster Hunter World, the Rotten vale having this massive husk/ribcage snaking its way through the area had me pretty hyped but this far in i think its safe to say, Mr.Blasty Mountain is the only XL monster we're getting. Even Ukonlos would have fit wonderfully in an Ice version of Ruiner Nergi's arena.
The only two I haven't the pleasure of hunting and being carted are the White Fatalis ( How do you get the quest anyhow?) and the last one of the list Dire Miralis (I just downloaded MH3 so I'm sure we will met soon enough)
Glad that you are back!✌
If I'm not wrong in Freedom Unite we had to clear all high rank quests, inclusive of OG Fatalis and Crimson Fatalis to get HR White Fatalis, and then same goes to get G rank White Fatalis. I guess in Gen Ultimate should be similar.
@@ErdingerLi hey, Thanks! I need to go and check if I have done all the quests.. I do remember have fought both fatalis.
