  • Badagry is a coastal town and local government area in Lagos state, Nigeria. It is located on the north bank of port novo creek, an inland waterway that connects Lagos in Nigeria to the Beninese capital of Port-Novo. Badagry is bordered by the gulf of guinea to the south and Seme, a border town in Benin republic to the west.
    Badagry emerged as a commercial center on the west Africa coast as a result of the lagoon and an Atlantic port in Badagry which was a means to facilitate trade. During the trans - Atlantic trade, the town was a middleman between European traders on the coast and traders from the hinterland.
    The major economic activities in badagry include fishing, trading and tourism. Badagry’s closeness to the sea and it’s historical past with trans-atlantic slave trade and missionaries always attracts tourists to the town.

    - The Badagry King’s Palace
    and also Badagry has some of the most beautiful beaches in Nigeria which include
    Suntan Beach, Coconut beach etc.
