I find this a slightly sad statement. There are exceptional experts in history and politics out there having conversations as well you know... this seems thin in comparison to most of the analysis I've enjoyed.. Petersons expertise does not extend the far. And surely his friendship with Bibi leaves him a little bias; nothing he said here really contradicts such an assumption.

@@user-rk8sz6yi8u The more logical way of processing the original comment is simply as it was stated. “That I’ve seen” maybe they simply haven’t seen other experts discuss the topic. Piers. Who do you think Hamas is? An elite group of thugs keeping an innocent multitude captive?
Who is the Palestinian population? Little sweethearts who marauded en masse in the streets, cheering on the barbaric displays? Those who threw rocks at the Red Cross vehicles evacuating the captives?
You know what Palestinian supporters look like in England, where they don't yet put on kindergarten performances killing Jews.
While you are tweaking that moral compass of yours, just remember the true nature of the Palestinian population Israel is bending over backwards to protect, and the fact that Hamas was voted in by them.

As a 40-year-old with a passion for history and a lean towards the left, that hates trump, I’ve always been vigilant about the trap of confirmation bias. Initially, I wasn’t a fan of Jordan Peterson due to negative info gleaned from Social media, . My dislike for him predated any deep dive into his views. Watching debates, I found myself rooting against him. But as I listened more, his perspectives offered new insights, challenging my initial perceptions. Surprisingly, some of the information he presented resonated with me, and upon further research, it checked out. This led to a slight shift in my views on a few subjects. It’s a reminder of the importance of remaining open to various viewpoints, even from those we might instinctively disagree with. @@brandyk

Peterson says that it might be courage that’s the opposite of nihilism.
If fear signals a potential loss, and courage is the ability to move forward into fear, then you could say courage is the willingness to face that loss. Willingness to give something valuable up is an implicit statement that there is something more valuable there.

I would argue that Responsibility is the opposite of nihilism because one has to take responsibility for loss by realizing what they did to cause that loss. It requires courage to be able to confront the action, thought, or belief that caused that loss and take responsibility for that loss.

I believe Mr Peterson had a point that should be considered... He said this is why I am a psychologist and not a politician. Perhaps if we had a Psychologist in a political role Canada would be better off. Someone who can truly see many sides and balance the ideal solution to the situations at hand.

Something I researched for a class had to do with this. The best problem solvers are T-shaped, the top line being a breadth of knowledge, these are generally people who think more creatively to capture as much of the best ideas that "specialists" think of into their solution. Specialists are the bottom line of the T, they are generally experts of a specific field. Now put these 2 together and you have a great way of coming up with solutions to complex problems. Now in a broad sense, we can think of Congress (or whoever else you want) as the people with a "breadth of knowledge" and if we were to put people like Dr. Peterson and several other experts in every other field in advisory positions in the government, perhaps we would have much better solutions.

It must be remembered that 60% of them voted to elect Hamas as their goverment in 2007, and current polling reveals that some 80% of them support Hamas today. The black and white line between "innocence" and full throated material support of terrorism is very porous indeed.

We can move forward, actually progress, when religion stops ruling the world, and there is non more oppressive than the religion of Islam.

If you do not understand Middle East geopolitics, natural resources and what had happened in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, you find one thing in common and that is exported democracy, ethnic nationalism, and human tragedies. This what is in the work. The clergy, no matter how much I dislike them have been able to keep this at bay. If that does not interest you it is a shame. One more point, Saudi Arabia may be a rich country but it does not contain majority of Muslim world and Abraham accord signed or not is mot going to change that.

Piers Morgan, I am surprised by your comments.
First, referring to the death toll among Palestinians in Gaza.
How can you treat the numbers provided by Hamas as credible?
In Morocco, it took them weeks to learn the full extent of the earthquake in Sep 2023, the same in Libya due to the flood, same month.
And those are places where no human trafficking occur, almost everybody was at their homes when the catastrophe happen.
In Gaza, most of the population left home, so how can they tell 2 minutes after Israel bombs somewhere that there are 500 dead among the 300 children?
and from the past, we have seen that they are showing same "bodies" and same people "injured" over and over again.
Well, some of the "bodies" suddenly came alive after the video or photo shooting, the the "injured" are miraculously got well, to become "injured" again a day later, sometimes broken legs, sometimes in the face.
You know this, you have seen the fake videos over and over again.
And the numbers don't match. Only Palestinian civilians are dead? no "freedom fighters"? no Hamas "warrier" (i.e. terrorist) amongst the dead? IDF killed only children, no Hamas at all?
Just few days ago, Palestinian boy released from the Israeli prison appeared all over the news with "broken" wrists, just to learn few hours later from the release video that he was perfect upon release.
This is to show you and all how much propaganda of the Palestinian works.
And as for you referring that Israel "shut down the power and water for Gaza" that shows how much Israel controls what going on in there and are an occupiers de facto.
This is also wrong. When Israel withdrew from Gaza, there was a full intention to leave them be and take care of themselves.
What happened with all these millions and billions of dollars that Gaza (and Hamas) got from all over the world?
Did they invest in water plants and power plants? No no no no no...
They built tunnels from the concrete, they took the water pipes and built rockets (they are not hiding this, they have had documentaries filming it happen).
Something for their population? no, all for anti Israel purposes.
Gaza could have flourished since 2005-2006 when Israel left it alone.
I assure you Israel is reluctant to provide power and water to Gaza. This is all on the Israeli people expense. We pay for it, and we don't want to pay for it anymore with Hamas killing us and shooting rockets at us.
It is our right to stop providing them these essentials we gave until now "for free".
We allowed them to enter into Israel and provided them with work and salaries, what came out of it? they came in to butcher us.
It is our right to close these fences and prevent them from coming in again and do these.
Their "prison" is all their fault, from day 1 of Hamas.

Why am i so bothered by the suit?😂

because its a lesser version of someone wearing a suit that looks like the american flag. Not the best fashion.

@kylemenos i highly doubt a Canadian wore a suit because it happened to have the same colors as a American flag. Also, dozens of country flags are a combination of red, white and blue.
