- To continue to engage our members during this COVID19, I have uploaded an old video from Dennis Makashima from this June 2019 doing a Black Pine demonstration at the Los Angeles Arboretum. Dennis comes to us by thean personal invitation by our program chair Big Joe Galgoul. We were excited to get Dennis to come down to visit us from the Bay area.

I was planning on visiting Dennis before but I had already other travel plans before the auction. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to document his collection as a whole.

I’m into niwaki more than bonsai... so this guy is a goldmine of knowledge! Really wish he had a blog, books, YT channel, anything! (does he have any??)
There’s hundreds/thousands of very good, experienced bonsai teachers and bonsai info online; yet, Zero niwaki teachers (in English anyways). So, I always have to resort to studying bonsai techniques.
Yes, I already have Jake’s ‘Niwaki’ book... it’s not that great, just beginner and generalized, summarized, short info.

I had his contact before I moved...currently if its not on my phone its gone...you can search him up. He is in the San Francisco area
