Anything with Bob Mortimer is going to knock your socks off. I suggest watching the 2 very long compilations of his, the first one being Mortimerian Tales. You can split the reaction into individual videos if you don't want to upload over an hours vid lol I'd suggest anything with Rhod Gilbert, James Acaster or Claudia Winkleman to get you guys rolling with this show!
Yep. Bob's very funny and has had a very strange and interesting life, and James Acaster is also very funny. BUT, I would say Claudia Winkleman is the best at the double bluff. She's brilliant at this show.
My favourite thing about Bob's guest appearances on this show is watching - the very logical - David Mitchell's descent into madness trying to work out if Bob's lying if it's just his real, chaotic life 😂

Would I Lie To You (WILTY) is a vast treasure trove for your channel to loot. It's a 'clean' show- no swearing or overly 'adult' content, yet hilarious, fun and interesting, with a massive variety of guests. It is a perfect fit for you and your channel.
Well British clean. American clean is basically silicon chip factory clean. British are quite verbose with their swearing and sexual innuendos
It's broadcast 'pre-watershed' so there's absolutely no swearing (broadcast version anyway) but innuendos... well...yep... we can't help ourselves. It's the basis of our civilisation.
Great reaction guys. Bob is without a doubt one of the most loved contestants on WILTY. Please do one of the longer ones. Your sides will ache with laughter. 👍James Acaster is also worthwhile watching on WILTY.
Bob is crazy, but I love him as does the rest of the country. He is a national treasure. He appears about in this show about 2 or 3 times each season. He doesn’t always tell the truth, but usually the more outrageous his story the more likely it is to be true. He published his autobiography last year and most of his true stories were in it. He has had a very strange life which at times has been quite sad.
I’ve grown up with Bob On tv in his many guises he is unique and now he appears in a fishing programme with a friend a fellow comedian and I would never have expected to enjoy watching them fish but it is a hit show and compelling viewing.
Trust me, you have barely scratched the surface of Bob's life. Please keep it up.
The team of three do all have a vote. The captain - in the middle decides whether to say True or Lie. You will never understand Bob Mortimer. He was a lawyer in the past among lots of other things before becoming a comedian.
I certainly encourage you to watch the compilations are the next best thing to full episodes.
And the Bob compilations are probably the best starting place.
WILTY is has tonnes of iconic moments the relationship and stark contrast between team captains David Mitchell and Lee Mack as well as the host Rob Brydon really make the show. Any clips featuring Bob Mortimer, Greg Davis, James Acaster, or Rhod Gilbert are absolute gold.

Yes, this is an edited clip. This whole episode is great if you want to make a longer reveiew. This show has been running for a long time with a huge audience, so the contestants can be quite clever about how to throw people off the scent. One aspect that you may discover more and more is how the banter between the Rob, David and Lee is one of the winning factors to keep this show going so long. I don't know how well you know british society at this point, but this show can reveal a lot. In my opinion WILTY is one of the best panel shows ever created.
I was at the local cafe, I don't use sugar but told the woman serving me, a guy I grew up with used 5 teaspoons of sugar in his coffee, she told me there is a female truck driver that's stops there and has 23 teaspoons of sugar in her coffee 😳 could you imagine that

Definitely, Kevin Bridges “I once accidentally bought a horse” but can not go wrong with Mortimerian Tales, James Acaster, the list goes on but Bob is one of the best, he can spin a tale.
You can't go wrong with this show, even when the story or guest isn't great the interplay between Rob, David and Lee is always brilliant and if you get a lunatic for a guest like Bob Mortimer or Greg Davies it goes to another level.
They have such a great rapport together. 🙂

They all vote David is the captain on one team ,he has the casting vote. The other captain ,on the other team is lee Mack ,in the middle he has the casting vote for is team . The rest of the panelists change weekly .you are going to love this show 😃
growing up in the 70s in Scotland, I never had any injection or anaethsetic for a filling, it never occured to me that fillings could be pain free until i moved town and changed dentist!!

Bob mortimer has some amazing stories, a brilliant naturally funny and clever man.
The panel have never seen what is written on the card until the moment they're given it, so they have to make up a story live on air, or if its a true thing they have to try to make it less believable. Bob can spin a tale better than anyone. He is the absolute King of WILTY, but there's a great many others who tell great stories that will have you laughing along. Most of the guests are comedians or comedic actors but sometimes they will have a different type of guest and their stories are hilarious. Once you've done all of Bob's try CHRIS MCCAUSLAND and does he have a rude neighbour? (it's not just the guests who tell stories, Lee, David and Rob also have good ones. It's also the speed that these peoples brains come up with jokes on the spot, and how they embroider the truth or the lie. Greg Davis is another great guest. Talking of Greg, as teachers I'm guessing you'd really enjoy the brit comedy Inbetweeners which he acts in. It's about a group of teens as they pass through the final years of school and their escapades as they move towards growing up (hence in between childhood and adulthood)
David Mitchell graduated from Cambridge University (Peterhouse College) with a degree in history. Only around 80 undergraduates are admitted each year.
I once knew a Brazilian dentist, and asked her about Fuji 9. She said yeah it's real. Then I mentioned this story and she got quite angry. "That is so stupid!" Oh well.
She was probably just angry that the secret of Fuji 9 has been leaked to the world. If everyone learns the secret of Fuji 9 she’ll be out of a job!
Normally David asks his teammates their opinion and goes with the majority. But David has a history with Bob and finds it too personal.
You need experience with Bob you can't just go in assuming he's a normal guy
you got to dig into Bob Mortimer's appearances on would I lie to you ! He is the most incredible story teller - and, incidentally, a qualified Solicitor !! Bob Mortimer is a living legend.
Youve gotta remember people used to become very inventive in tough times. During the 2nd world war when fuel was very hard to get my dads uncle built a car that run off charcoal which was easy to come by in the Aussie bush. It wasn't fast or flash but it got them where they had to go. My mum and her mum survived by hunting and trapping birds to eat . Bob is definitely one of those old school larger than life characters

We installed it for our business 2 months ago after nightmares with the other providers in our rural location. Up and running in 5 mins from box arriving. Like you we then popped it up on top of gable end and no issues to report since.
9:10 this is why it is best to watch the 2 part videos but only watch 1-2 stories at a time, and pick up where you left off at a later date, because all the main ones are on there and in order
Bob is from Middleborough which explains why so many of his stories are bizarre but true.

Yeah, they do discuss on the team if it's true or not, but I don't know if that part got edited out. Normally the captain functions as a tie breaker.
If you had grown up watching "the smell of reeves and mortimer" and "shooting stars" you'd say "probably" to every story 😂😂

Bob is national treasure, hes been going years. Shooting Stars is a wonderful quiz he did with Vick and hes had hart problems and hes done a wonderful fishing program.
YEARS ago at a huge music award thing and Michal Jackson did a song and was coming across as a arse so Jarvis Cocker the lead singer of Pulp mooned Jackson while he was singing. BOB went to the police station to help Jarvis,Bob is/was a lawyer, both guys were very famous at the time it must have been crazy in that station that night. Also people loved what Jarvis did because Jackson vas trying to look extreamly religuse and we dont like that in the UK.

David Mitchel and Lee Mack are the permanent tem members and captains of their respective teams. They do have the final call, but they usually do consult with the other team members.
But David does seem to have a thing with Bob Mortimer in this show. IEverything Bob says, truth or lie, is just so wild, but detailed; both logical and unplausible at the same time.

The thing with Bob is, when he gets a card that isn't a story from his life, he tries to find a real story from his life that he could make it fit.
But the genius of him is his abiliy to Embroyder The Truth... finishing touches so absurd. ❤ to Bob

Team captains Lee Mack and David Mitchell get the final say, but they do consult the others and often just go with their team.
That's one of only two I've seen where they didn't seem to consult, although that may have been the edit in this case. The other one was when Lee told such an obviously ludicrous story that when Rob turned to David he just immediately said "Lie".
If you can, try finding Chris Rea put a egg in Bob Mortimer's bath. I couldn't stop laughing at it.
I would recommend both Bob Mortimer compilations as well as Greg Davies, I would also suggest Bobs Taskmaster compilation although you may not be able to show it on RUclips

Okay you've opened the door now. You have to do the rest of the Bob Mortimer WILTY clips. There are about 8 of them I think.
Ostensibly the other team members do get a say but they can be overruled by the team captain (in this case David M). Sometimes though the captain just states what way the team is going without actually asking any of the team members. ... or maybe (in this case) the true/false disscusion was edited out.

Generally the captain consults his team before he announces the final team decision, so he can go with the majority vote or overrule it. Here, though, for comedy effect, David Mitchell shows his exasperation at always being outfoxed by Bob Mortimer's ridiculous stories by shutting down his team-mates and voting 'True'. For laughs, based on bitter experience, he has decided that, when it comes to Bob, implausibility should no longer factor in his decision.

Usually the team captains consult their team-mates before issuing a verdict, but the recording sessions can be very long on this show and it's often edited down quite heavily. I imagine that's what happened here.
All three will have voted but it was cut out. The team captain can override his team though, if he feels strongly about it.

The best ever WILTY was the Lee Mack Royal wedding one.
Normally the other guests do get a vote but I think on this particular occasion David didn’t give them the opportunity because Bob frustrates him so much with his outrageous stories. So he made the decision on his own as team captain 😂
