The reason the US version of WILTY failed, they left out the humour, and made it all about winning.
I hope you are not virtue signalling, mpn ami.
The REAL reason having watched it , was that they were sooo intent of every Nationality and age and gender being represented that ,as you say, replaced any humour so they ticked all the boxes but, you are right,is was poor..
That's down to the guests, I thought
Richard Kind was good but that's the only episode I seen of the US version
Yeh heard it said a lot of times that the UK panel shows don't work in the US as they get too competitive, where here in the UK they don't care about points/winning.
Well, except the goat - Shooting Stars, which was super serious!
@@Isleofskye I THINK THATS JUST YOU AMERICAN BRAIN ONLY SEEING RACE AND GENDER LMAOOOO
On the button! Lie or true... we Brits don't care.
It's just your American competitive nature !!
In the UK we don't give a s*** who wins as long as we have a laugh😂
Both Lee Mack and David Mitchell have called the show a parlour game, where the contest comes second to having fun.
Wow, nearly at 100k! Well done, been a pleasure being on this journey with you..
Great reaction KB. 👏🏻👏🏻
The one with Lee Mack and the key ring is one of my favorites :)
Was going to reply to my own comment, but it makes more sense to reply to yours - I think that's my 2nd favourite moment from the show. Then basically every Bob Mortimer story (Castle Douglas being my favourite).
Panel show
Just because the scores mean nothing doesn't mean people don't play along, you've got to be a bit weird if you don't have a try at the answer.
Lee Mack is brilliant ,its great ❤
Of course the figuring out is a major part of it we all like to test ourselves and our deductive abilities, the witty banter just takes it to another level, perfect mix.
Hey love your channel. If you want a WILTY classic clio with actual REAL awkwardness and genuine reaction try the clip about the royal wedding. It's the best clip you'll see. I promise.
I adore Lee's soft and gentle "There's no Open Day" to Bob.
Also, you do what you want. Guess, don't guess, as long as you're having fun all the same.
Actually there is a university in Bradford (my brother and sister-in-law met there), but it was only a red herring for his story. Adil Ray created and stars in the sitcom _Citizen Khan_ , in which he plays the central character, who is evidently a satirical pastiche of his own dad. It's caused some controversy about stereotypical characterisations of British Pakistanis, but Adil is surely in a position to know from first hand without treading on the toes of other people's differing experience.
The fear was, and to an extent still is, that minority groups satirising themselves unfortunately gives more fuel to the small sliver of bigots and racists. In my view, it was not so much controversy, but well-intended concern. For what it’s worth, I really enjoyed Citizen Khan. I learned how to greet in Arabic from it, and still use it to this day with my Muslim friends. For all the negative stereotypes it purportedly reinforced, there was a significant cultural exchange to be learned from if one was so inclined.
@@MrNikolidas Yes, Jonathan, I'm sure you're right. Regardless of intentions, certain strands of comedy can give source material to bullies. I'm old enough to recall _It Ain't Half Hot Mum_ , which I don't expect to see repeated any time soon. To me it was a satire on the British Raj with a few crude gags thrown in, but kids from a south Asian background no doubt hated comparisons made to Rangi Ram, punkah wallahs, chai wallahs, etc. at school.
I think we all enjoy guessing , and it's nice if you are right but it's all forgotten for the next lie . Lee was on good form and made Adils story , David also has some great rants - especially with Bob's stories .
I think this might be my favourite ever moment on WILTY. Even though it's not a Bob Mortimer story, he's involved in the whole thing.
I love Greg Davies' stories best, especially as they sound nuts but are usually true.
Love this show. This one was great but I still love when James Acaster is on this. One show I think you’d like is Citizen Khan, since the guy in this (Adil Ray) is in it.
Hello your Majesty. Just had to come back from Bradford so made me laugh. My poor dog had to have a lower canine removed today so currently sat playing nurse for her, cheered me up a bit watching so thanks very much😊
I hope your dog makes a full recovery soon.
I am surrounded by the Cockerpoo Mum(7) and her Daughter(who belong to a neighbour) The Yorkiepoo Dad(10) and another Daughter(5) both mine and a my Yoekie. In the garden just now was lovely as the daughter was lying next to me in the sun with the Dad, Mum and Sister all squeezing their faces together:)
I love figuring it out too. The other bloke was Adil Ray, a lovely man.
no he's not
@@charliegeorge9393 Yes he is, unless you're one of those brexit weirdos who racially abuses him every day...
He’s a prick
These are some of the best reactions I would love to sit and watch a full episode with you. When ever I watch this with mates I am just like you, it matters so much if you can get it right or not. Please keep them coming
8:06 Poor guy must've been searching for hours!🤣
For those who don't know.... 😂
I like the JAMES ACASTER , cabbage story
Hey King (and Queen of course). Firstly that reaction was really funny, love me some Lee Mack. I don't know if it's appropriate to put recommendations here but I'm gonna anyhoo 😊 I highly recommend you take a look at Green Wing, it's only two seasons long but freakin' hilarious. It has Fran from Black Books in it plus royalty herself, Olivia Coleman. If anyone else reading this thinks it should be a 'react' on this channel give it a thumbs up and hopefully it'll get watched.
Lee Mack is hilarious! 😂
This is a great show. Would I lie to you 😉
There’s NOOOOOOOOOOO university!
How much of the tree *did* you get cut, btw?
I enjoy guessing if they are lying or not too, so you're not the only one.
And on 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown, I do the words and numbers too!
Lee Mack sussed it straight away, if you know the Asian community in the UK the father is top dog..... so funny
Yeh Pakistani Muslim dad's are notoriously strict over here aren't they, goes back to the traditional strict immigrant parents stereotype👀🤷♂️but I think his dad was part of the Windrush generation,so...🤷♂️👏👏💜✊
As others have suggested you could watch the series "Not Going Out". I know you watched one and you said you enjoyed it considering you do not usually watch that type of comedy .As with many shows it improves . I believe you would also enjoy "The Thin Blue Line " with Rowan Atkinson.
I agree with you, Your Majesty.
The Welsh are funny but watch Paul Smith. He's a scouse comedian, funny as fuck 🤣
Go to Bradford and "find" an Asian 🤣
Heh. Good point. Finding a non-Asian might be harder!
@@jamesdignanmusic2765 Not really, with a 61% White population.
I like guessing too, it's literally part of the show
As David Mitchell says, "This show messes with your mind."
You MUST watch Lee Mack's Ikea story!
Very funny!
In the UK, it's panel show. Reason being: it's not about the game, it's about the comedians on them, and filling air time. If they don't make you laugh, they don't last long. :D And have your fun! I do the same thing. 😅
ETA: If you haven't seen Bob Mortimer: local legend from the WILTY channel posted about a month ago, OMG, do--even if it's just for yourself and Queen B (it's 51 minutes all up, and worth every second). The man is a storytelling god. It also gives context for why Savid Mitchell is so confused by the man. :D
It’s a great show, a typical pommie light hearted humour tv show.
Is it me or do Rob and Lee Mac trying to speak Welsh sound like Mr Lister's Gelf bride from
Red Dwarf
Translated, not tonight darling I'm pooped!
It is fun! I love trying to guess!
james scaster sleeping in a bush, best one ever
It’s a comedy panel show. 👍
Panel show is the preferred term
You should watch his series 'Not Going Out' it is very funny.
Just rewatched the office and noticed the actress who plays Lucy in not going out was in it.
Live and learn 😊
only the episodes from 2007 - 2014. the recent episodes just aren't as funny
its as funny as mrs browns boys
@@mav3783 You are spot on, they are equally dire !
Most of these types of shows are "panel" shows. Where there is a panel of comedy guests (not all comedians, but there to make jokes and have a good time at least) and the show is mainly just a vehicle for jokes. There are points awarded, but who wins doesn't matter
Lee Mack actually made me laugh this time.
Next: Henning Wehn "In the mid 90s"
Love this show, & Countdown.
Absolutely, working out if true of false is half the fun.💯
You keep having fun KB! If I wanted to watch the show, I’d watch the show. I’m watching you reacting to it! I enjoy watching you trying to guess the right answer.
Please do Not Going Out, from season 2 😂 (season 1 is OK with the American lady, but it finds its feet from S2)
Well put though I did really fancy that American Lady...:)
Did you know the host, Rob, was first a guest on the show before replacing the previous host
I was never a fan of James Acaster until I watched him on Taskmaster. Even funnier on WILTY
It's not "the vegetable one" it's "the VWREEEDGTIBOOOLS one". And the Welsh have to have a good sense of humour. They need one. I mean - look at their neighbours! Hunt down the episode with Martin Clunes and Richard E Grant. That whole episode is amazing.
There’s nothing wrong with the Irish!
@@markwrench6334 😄
I don't think you've done any clips of Rhod Gilbert yet.. his stories are mad like Bob Mortimer's. And he's Welsh as well ;)
I don't know why people are telling you trying to work out if they are lying or not doesn't matter because it does, that's the whole point of the show and what creates the humour.
How's the diet going, not great I guess 😂😂. Sorry dude, just messing with you lol, my belly has a bit of padding too! 😂
Lee Mack doing live stand up is hilarious
I’m Welsh. I live in south wales 🏴
With over 800 videos and almost 100,000 subscribers, and despite them primarily reacting to the British I have to congratulate the Boomers on never once attempting an English accent.
(You should make a video on trying an English accent. 😉)
The deductive reasoning is also part of the fun!
Try The Sketch Show UK. A very young Lee Mack
Please watch more Would I Lie To You. 😂
Please react to Chris McCausland’s rude neighbour story. It’s one of the funniest there is
If you like playing along with the shows you should try watching QI. It started out slow but got into its stride after a few episodes.
KB, PLEASE react to "New Zealand Deck Adverts" the compilation of all 3 short vids in 1 to be precise. It's right up your street, trust me!
An Idiot Abroad season 3. If I don't see that reaction in the next month imma take out the "I go meow" cat.
Lee Mack. Royal wedding is the best one. 👌
Ita awesome wilty but 8 out of ten cats is too pal funny asf gotta watch Jimmy Carr, jon Richardson ans Sean lock awesome mate take a look respect pal Andy in morecambe 🏴🇺🇲✌️
It's a panel show. The players are celebrities and the scoring is irrelevant, as there's no prize, it's all done purely for entertainment!
Panel shows haven't exactly caught on in the US, which is why on one of our few succesful exports, Whose Line Is It Anyway, they have to explicitly state that the points don't matter!
If you like the host Rob Brydon, you'll love Gavin and Stacey! I know you have had a lot of requests for that ☺️ Great reaction as always, love lee mack
Rob Brydon (the host) plays one of the main characters in Gavin and Stacey, if that gives you a positive about the show.
Great reaction as always! 👍
Again, I thought we were gonna see Nora!😢
How about a short video with Nora and Jane? Guarantee lots of views from us dog lovers!👍
nah yh the whole fun is working it out not tryna guess it right first try
For me, a game show is when the public can win something. Shows like this are panel comedy shows.
It's a panel show. Please watch alex horne and the horne section on another panel show called 'the last leg'
KB, check out Bob Monkhouse, the million joke man🇬🇧🤣
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I don't think anyone has a problem with you enjoying to play along with the game. It's when you get so competitive that you get angry about not getting it right, and then say you're never watching it again, you must see the difference, surely.
More Bob!
PLEASE watch 'not going out'
Best of this show as to be Kevin Bridges horse .
They are Comedy Panel Shows
React to Lee mack Tim vine Ronnie accona in the sketch show imaginary friends group.
It's way more fun for me to watch you decide if it's true or not.
Rod Gilbert red hen please react to it
It's a combo of the humour and guessing imo. So ppl giving you grief are gonks.
I love his comedy is never the comedy of mean.
I with you, it’s always fun to play along with WILTY 👍
Have you watched Gavin and Stacey - given you like Rob
I've only got one thing to say to Lee for mocking the Welsh language and that's Grhhthyr cwmlllllleghym sqelogyllech ddallenddayndda! And the same to anyone telling King Boomer off for trying to guess whether the tale is true or not - not only is that literally the point of the game but surely everyone does it. I'm off for a game of rugby and a sing-song.
tell me - is there any near equivalent to this show in USA?
Oi MUPPET! Now I have your attention I’m just letting you know that I keep on having to re subscribe to your channel, you need to get that sorted mate.
There is
Adil Ray, definitely not a woman involved 😂
university.
You keep trying to work them out trust me when it's on TV at home we try work them out
We call shows like this Panel Shows mate :)
6:27 this here i why when these sorts of shows are attempted in america they fail. there's a level of caring about "winning" that they get right here. they try a bit to win but not much and the real winning is having the best laugh possible with each other. that the other thing - with not against each other. that's not a big competition either. if you can set someone else up for a big joke that just as good as making the big joke yourself. the american attempts were blighted by too much competitiveness and not enough fun.
1st
Sad.
@@dannjp75 are you? Cheer up buddy
I hate that intro and the one where you go bammmp bammmp. My favourite intro is your civil war general and the skip past one.
There’s hundreds more hilarious shows
how dare you react in your reactions, it's as if people only want you to sit still with a poker face in a reaction video.
You should watch David O' Dougherty's hypnosis story it's hilarious. 👌👍
