As someone who knows nothing about game design/level design/landscaping/art of natural nature, I absolutely loved the whole process. I’m not sure how much real time this covers, but it definitely shows the time, devotion and dedication needed to build a mere snapshot of an entire world. And just a personal opinion after reading the constructive criticisms in the comments, they are just that. Learn every lesson you are able to, learn every advantage and disadvantage to each lesson and how to use them, but most importantly, when it comes to creative design, if it doesn’t break anything and it feels like it should to you, it is good and right. You are on a long and daunting journey, stay strong and don’t forget to take a step back and deep breath every once in a while.
Thank you very much for making this video. It was fascinating, and thoroughly enjoyable. I have always wondered what the process of making an open would map or a section of an RPG looks like and now I think I have some takeaways for when I need to do it for my games.
You should do Blending for your meshes. That way they'll blend very nicely with the landscape -- it doesn't seem to be enabled in your videos. It would make it look better and less harsh cuts between the meshes and landscape
Just wanted to ask what tool have you used to make the leveling of the ground/mountains etc? And also the coloring of the grass/ mountain terrain. Also I love your work and you inspire me to start my game this upcoming summer
Nice, i suggest the stream to be transparent and moving slower and of course if you make it transparent make sure the path to be rocky or gravel, since the mud will be swept by erosion
Sorry dude, it's kind of ugly. too many rocks. no focal point/weenie. textures are all over the place in terms of scale. too obvious where river clips with terrain. Also too obvious where terrain clips with stone assets. needs a lot more polishing. Still very interested in the game tho, keep at it!
I can't wait for the game's release, it's going to be amazing!
Right? So worth it

Nice man! I think i agree that there are too many rocks and the water does look weird in some spots. but overall very nice!

Thank you for the feedback. I still have a lot of learning to do when it comes to level design.
