good tutorial. the high-flow filters don't filter as well (that's why they are high-flow). Wonder what sucking in more fine dirt does to the life of the engine over the life of the engine?
Very helpful, well-lit, and efficiently edited! Difficult to find series of videos on this model nowadays, especially this well-made - clear and neat! Quick question: it seems some of these cotton filters are oiled - how frequent (mileage/timing) should it be cleaned and what "oil" is required to soak it after cleaning? With the exact same model (958.1 CTT), I am considering replacing the current OEM filters with one of these reusable ones. Thanks.
Thanks, here are the guidelines for renewing a BMC filter: www.bmcairfilters.com/eng/how-to-regenerate-a-bmc-air-filter/1430/p#:~:text=The%20purpose%20of%20regenerating%20a,on%20which%20it%20is%20installed.
@@Flat6Motorsports I thought the filter is supposed to provide "increased air flow" when compared to OEM ones, according to the description on the manufacturer's website (www.bmcairfilters.com/eng/car-filters/fb335-01/404/art)?
hi, my drivers side air box has an extra hose connected to the windshield facing side of the airbox. There is no slack, and it looks like it has to be removed before you can remove the airbox housing. Any idea what that hose is and how to remove it?
Same thing with my 958 V8. Actually two adapters…one half spherical adapter pointing to the windshield and one below from the box to the air tubes. The adapters aren’t typical adapters to me so was scared to try to disconnect them for fear of breaking something
Porsche uses the same BMC filter media on the stock GT3 RS, GT4 RS and 918 Spyder. They’re also used in their IMSA programs but several of their models ship from the factory with BMC filters.
I'd like to see the data backing this statement... Nevertheless, even if racing platforms use the filters (not sure if there is any gain aside from the sound) I wouldn't use anything that can mess up my $200-500K car. They are fast enough :)

just changed mine after ordering to get someone else to do it. Thanks a mil bro 👍🏾
Nice job on the video. Good production values.

Awesome video thank you!!!
Question will this help with gas mileage, upgrading your air filters
Certainly if your air filter is dirty!
For the Hybrid version there’s only 1 filter location and it’s on the passenger side

Great simplified video. What tools would you suggest for this DIY?
Flat head screwdriver
I got a 2015 Cayenne s. How was the BMC air filters? Was there a big difference? Great video thanks 😊 👍🏼
They don't make a huge difference but better flow and a little increase in induction noise. Porsche uses BMC Filters on the 911 GT3RS and 918 Spyders.

Yeah...stick with the OEM filters. These high flow filters are just a time ticking bombs for trouble. Risk is larger particles may get sucked in..
