That butterfly is interesting. First we have to figure out what that gel is in there. The globe is fine except for the space at the top where it looks like some of the gel is missing but I'm wondering if it may have been like that from the start. It would be nice to fill in that space if possible. We'll mark it and do some research.

Love your videos! I’ve been trying to find one that shows repairing one that is leaking through the center of the stopper where something goes through to spin inside the globe.
Hi. We happy that you enjoy the videos. We have been fortunate that we have never had a problem with the stoppers that have a spinning figurine. We have not been able to find anyone that sells just stoppers. We get all of our stoppers from other old globes. We have had a couple of regular stoppers with holes that we got to stop leaking by using super glue on the inside surface of he stopper and hot glue on the outside. Depending on where the leak is you may be able to use that same technique with out affecting the spinning mechanism.
the puppy in the Rockwell globe aaaaaa 🥺🥰 black and white spaniels were popular in americana art from that era and showed up frequently in his art but that snowglobe appears to be based on the "gay blades" (haha. but that is what the decorative plates with this piece were titled) artwork that featured a different looking puppy and a little boy trailing behind. I guess in the 90s "young at heart" was a more appropriate name considering people don't use gay in that context anymore😂🏳🌈 The rest of the figure is virtually identical to the original art with the man having the same clothes and also making a figure 8. There's a non snowglobe figure of this painting that includes the boy and has a dog that is more accurate to the painting. There's also another painting of his with a similar theme with a boy tangled up in a black and white spaniel's leash while holding a mountain of presents. I'd love if that one got a snowglobe but sadly it would appear not. I'd love to get a copy of this snowglobe having seen that it exists. I'm always on the lookout for snowglobes with black and white spaniels in them but I would never trust having one shipped unfortunately.
