I did not elaborate very well on why I believe Chihiro's case has strong elements of transmisogyny. I was originally going to make a lengthy video explaining this in further detail (i might still do so, actually). However, Lindsay Ellis actually released a video a couple of weeks ago that encapsulates the issues present in Chihiro rather well, even if not a perfect 1-1 to Chihiro's character. I recommend the watch if you have an hour to spare and want further information: ruclips.net/video/cHTMidTLO60/видео.html
Aeris did you edit/draw your selfsona's sprites yourself? They look amazing, subscribe to this enby now! Edit:FUCK FUCK FUCK I SPELLED YOUR NAME AS A FUCKING ZODIAC SIGN FUUUUUUUUUCK
@@super8bitable if i did make that video, comments would be disabled forever, for two reasons; those who NEED the video are not the type i trust to respond respectfully or understandingly (or even trust that i know what im fucking talking about), and those that do wouldn't even need the video. people just automatically assume because i say the case is transmisogynistic, i "DoNt UnDeRsTaNd ItS pOiNt". truth is i perfectly understand what the case WANTED to do, but it doesn't erase the collateral damage the case still does to trans people. you seen the amount of tr*p jokes STILL made about chihiro? how many people make jokes about their murder and the connection it has to fact they dressed femininely while designated male at birth? but it's easier for cis fans to discredit what i say if they just say i "didn't understand what it was trying to do". it's both audacious and patronising.
Would you ever consider rewriting Danganronpa 1 chapter 2 trial, if it can be improved, I've tried but by changing couple things the entire mystery falls apart.
Honestly, the reason I consider Chihiro to be male is the simple fact that Alter Ego, someone made by chihiro who knows him almost as well as he does, refers to him as “he.”
so glad kirumi was actually alive and personally beat kokichi to death. such a shame so many people like the fanfiction where she dies and they try to redeem kokichi.
Going to repost this: For anyone wondering, the Standard Galactic Alphabet in the thumbnail says: 2: IAMNONBINARYDUCKYOUIGOTMONEY 3: CRYOVERHEPIANO 5: ITSALLFICTIONAL 6: NOTEVENGONNAMAKEHERE 8: LEONUPSLDEDOWN I might have gotten some symbols wrong, or Aeris might've, but it's still readable.
Why does nobody ever mention the fact that kokichi's plan to "save" everyone by revealing the truth of the outside world nearly led shuichi and himiko to suicide? Like, himiko was literally begging maki to kill her until she used the flashback light.
I think he probably thought they wouldn’t sink that far, or that his plan wouldn’t take long enough to let them go through with it beforehand. I also think, maybe, that Kokichi is a bit of a believer in survival of the fittest. If Himiko and Shuichi were to crumble and off themselves, that would only pave the way for Maki, Keebo, Tsumugi and the hero Kaito to survive and thrive. I disagree with that though, since I do think that out of all of them, Shuichi was the one Kokichi was adamant should live. It’s impossible to really know Kokichi’s intentions there. We can say he thought the others wouldn’t let them sink that far, but by “others,” at this stage, we obviously mean “Kaito.” And Kokichi needed Kaito to be isolated from the group at this stage, so maybe it was a deliberate test? Personally, I think he was just thinking of too many things at the time and miscalculated how much their psyche could handle.
@@jasmineowo8286 it’s easy to see that showing someone something like that is going to harm them mentally, the only way he wouldn’t know that was if he was stupid, but he’s not.
Personally I actually like the best to worst style of "top tiring" much better than the usual worst to best. I find most top 10 videos to get a bit dull as the video goes on so I agree with leaving the spicier opinions for last
I think the best way of making this kind of tops is splitting them in 2 parts, one of them speaking about the good trials and another one speaking about the bad trials. So you start with the 9th worst case, then the 9th best case, then the 8 worst case, etc. This keeps the suspense and makes the video more exciting.
“You wouldn’t defend him as hard if he looked like TeruTeru or Hifumi” SOMEBODY FINALLY SAID IT And yeah I don’t hate Kiyo he’s actually one of my favorite characters lmao
Kiyo gets too much hate, and I hate anyone who hates him with everything I am He is literally me (minus the whole unnecessary sister thing and bondage stuff. Nasty. Honestly that was probably the reason people dislike him)
People really overhate the weird looking characters 😔. If we just analyse the actions of Teruteru and Ryoma you could easily see that their actions are very sympathetic and human-like, they have realistic struggles but also a variety of flaws which makes them incredibly compelling and also my favorites. I just wish people gave them the attention they deserve :( (Also they kinda cute ngl 👀)
You know, I don't really understand the placement for # 11. From what I remember, Gonta didn't kill anyone and survived until the end with everyone else. Kokichi was executed for murdering Miu and everything else went on as it should. Gonta especially didn't have an execution that made me cry into my pillow for three hours and has caused me to have a passionate hatred for Kokichi.
@@egbertmilton4003 Kokichi, he was blown to bits from Dynamite in his execution because of someone wanting to take over him, Miu then lived, so did Kaito
I think the thing that I took away from V3 chapter 6 will always be "you're not weird for caring about fictional characters and being emotional over the things that happen to them" I feel weird cause I always feel like the one person who got this message and it feels like I've missed something oops.
Well 2-5 is still my favorite not only because one of the most interesting characters dies but the both the motive and how it was executed was well done. Cause a lot of people (at least from what I've seen) expected Nagito to be a survivor but no he and Chiaki are both taken out on the same chapter with Nagito wanting to weed the traitor out using all means even if it means taking his own life, also the build up from Nagito planning this and gathering all he can get from all previous islands is just well done, it really makes a lot of sense for him to use all island can offer.
Nagito's plan was never to stab Hajime or anyone else from the ultimates. He rather set himself up to be killed. If it weren't for Imposter's night-vision goggles, which Nagito openly admitted to everyone that he didn't predict or see coming, Nagito wouldn't have been shoved from under that table by Imposter. Nagito has always been suicidal, not homicidal. He begs and pleads with everyone else to kill him afterwards and his actions throughout the killing game, such as playing Russian roulette with five bullets, showcase his disregard for his own life. He would never dare kill any of the ultimates directly when he thinks he's worthless by comparison. If you think he was trying to kill anyone then give me the answer for these questions: 1) Why did Nagito blatantly reveal his plan to Teruteru by laughing out loud whilst setting everything up? 2) How would Nagito be able to stab anyone in utter darkness? 3) If you assume he was going to indiscriminately stab someone, then what would he do about all the blood splatter? It's obvious that the knife was never intended to be the murder weapon from the start and it's only in-line with Nagito's characterization to want to die there. Also, Teruteru doesn't really have much of a sense of justice. His motive was never to stop Nagito from doing anything dangerous to stop and protect the others. He just saw an opportunity and took it. Monokuma called him out on this and told him to be honest at the end. He wanted to sacrifice everyone and escape in order to find out what happened to his mum and diner. He knew about the class trial system ahead after all, unlike Sayaka. Sure, he's sympathetic but absolutely not justified in any way. In regard to 2-5, I honestly don't think AI Chiaki was ever intended to have a deep connection of sorts with Hajime or anyone else, as she's an all-loving AI who's incapable of forming interpersonal relationships. All she can give is universal love. Her FTEs make it abundantly clear that she doesn't understand romance what with the dating sims genre being her only weakness in terms of gaming. The way I see this case, when dissected to its most basic form, perfectly parallels 1-5. The person with closest to the protag (Kyoko, Nagito) put him in trouble and an AI (Alter Ego, AI Chiaki) come in a clutch to save them. It's true she appears before Hajime in 2-6 but I think that's because it could have only been her, because no one else can deliver the "you're not part of the game" speech.
Ehhhh I find some points to be debatable. Yes nagito was absolutely suicidal but I also think he was willing to kill an ultimate because he was someone who was willing to do whatever it takes for (what he thought to be) the greater good. Even if that meant killing an ultimate (which he loves so much). Yes he did tell teruteru about his plan but I’m not sure if he really expected or even wanted for Teruteru to kill him because nagito would’ve wanted the trial to be difficult and teruteru just stabbing him would’ve led to everything being easy since it would’ve been obvious right from the start that the knife wasn’t the weapon since it would’ve been in nagito’s hand. You’re point about the blood splatter though is correct however that may have just been an oversight by the writers or nagito could’ve just relied on his luck (yeah it’s a lazy excuse but it isn’t completely out of the realm of possibility). I do kinda agree with your points about chiaki but I would like to say that there was definitely meant to be a connection between the two of them although it may have mostly been from hajime’s side. Hajime is shown to deeply care about chiaki especially at the end with him getting especially upset about the idea of chiaki disappearing which we don’t even see the other characters directly acknowledge. There’s also the bit with the swimsuits where chiaki is the one hajime shows the most attention to (yes hajime does show embarrassment towards being alone with the girls in swimsuits but chiaki is the only person who hajime has any thoughts about specifically)but not only that she is also the only one with sprites in her swimsuit. Also chiaki as a character is pretty much waifu bait, that isn’t to say I dislike her she’s actually one of my favorite characters although she does lack flaws which weakens her as a character. I mean chiaki is displayed as being adorable with some of her sprites, how she talks, how she is pretty ignorant about a lot of things and her sleeping a lot which is basically the thing we see bad about her. So it’s plainly obvious that she was at the very least meant to have a pretty big connection to the player and seems the most likely one for romantic options for the player not to mention the fact that she’s a gamer which most players will identify with.
Im gonna push back on Teruteru a bit. I do think his ultimate intention was to go home, but knowing Nagitos plan to kill someone, I doubt Teruteru would have attempted to murder anyone else and its clear that he did regret to kill the ultimate impostor whereas he most likely wouldn't have had he successfully killed Nagito. I think that is a sense of justice.
I just realised this but, Kokichi is technically one of the characters responsible for the most deaths Which include Himself Miu Iruma Gonta Gokuhara And Kaito Momota
Kaito died from the virus before he could be executed by Monokuma for killing Kokichi, so Kokichi actually didn’t cause his death I agree with the rest though.
about the 11037 thing: to type on a computer in japanese, one of the most common methods is to actually use english characters to write a word/phrase and then select from a list what those characters are. for example, if you type "migikata" it turns each syllable into hiragana or katakana ”みぎかた” and then you press space, which is when a list would pop up next to it and you can then choose what specifically you were trying to type (”右肩“、"右下腿“、"右肩を", etc..) once you highlight with the arrow keys or cursor which one you want in the list, you press enter and then you can continue typing. we know that kyoko and makoto type on the laptop to talk to alter ego (at least in the game), and the anime shows that they actually use this method to type and talk to alter ego on the laptop. therefore, makoto and kyoko would at least know how to write japanese in english characters (and likely what sound each letter makes). while L isn't used in japanese when talking, it IS used to make smaller hiragana characters when using IME (ぁ、ぃ、ぅ、ぇ、ぉ)and so they likely also know what sound L makes or at least what L is. E and O come up in japanese often and even have standalone characters (エ/え,お/オ), as a majority of consonants are immediately followed by vowels, and N is also definitely used in japanese and it, too, has it's own character (ン/ん). it wouldn't be too hard for makoto and kyoko to piece together that it says "leon" upside down or at least that it said "eon", and then notice no one else's name at hope's peak ends in "eon" except for leon's
am i the only person who thinks teruteru's design is cute, idk what it is but i actually really like & i prefer the design we got over his beta cus his actual design is way more unique & lets him stand out against not only his cast but other danganronpa characters
chapter two ( DRV3 ) will always be a number one for me. Apart from Kirumi dying I felt terrible and sad for Ryoma, an overshadowed and underrated character in DRV3 in my opinion. Him giving his life to Kirumi to save the nation really made me agree even more of how noble and tragic he was. And before his death he says how lame it was that he kept saying he didn't have a reason to live. The most depressing part of this is that his death could've been avoided if that lying little bitch Kokichi just would've said that Maki's true identity was the ultimate assassin, then Maki wouldn't have given Ryoma his motive video but having nothing on his motive video, knowing that he has no one in his life that is important to him or anyone else must have left him so distraught it hurts me. It overall was a painful trail for me and many others.
Kokichi did want everyone to exchange motive videos. If everyone did, the group could have convinced Ryoma they all truly do care about him, and possibly save his life. Though, you still are correct about Maki.
Yeah, I know right? That happens to me with Ruruka as well. I like her character very much, but what she did is horrible, unjustifiable. Many people hate her and I get why, but I see that her character is interesting because she's bad. Please respect my opinion if you hate/dislike her :).
@@limonero9577 Same, but with Monaca, Danganronpa noticed junko was liked and loved in the first game, so they started making way worse villians (in a "good" way) making them really evil and dislikeable
You can't spell "unjustifiable" without "fun" either way. Because even though Kokichi was an annoying, destructive, chaotic, and overall terrible asshole, he was funny. And that's all I need from a character for them to be my favorite. A "heehee haha funny person" that also happens to be an asshole. (Except Byakuya for some reason, he's just an asshole.)
What fans think Sayaka would do if Leon was killed: You are all ugly What would actually happen: it's me, I never meant to hurt Makoto I just wanted to help my friends
I got physically aggressive when Aeris said taka wasn’t an interesting character WE KNOW THE BABYS WHOLE PERSONALITY IS BEING A HALL MONITOR BUT HES OUR HALL MONITOR
I remember hearing somewhere that the creators are refusing to release his backstory due to it being “to dark for danganronpa” so one can only IMAGINE how bad his backstory must be
they still right tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (tho I do agree, he deserved better writing than just throwaway background storylines and an, honestly, boring and kinda annoying one-note personality)
Teruteru isn’t the best character obviously, but I’m just say he’s kinda underrated. Not saying he’s excused for attempt s**ual assault- I’m just saying he doesnt deserve as much hate as he gets
Excluding those 2 scenes I thought he was such a good character and had a charming personality outside of his creepiness that’s so overlooked. I did like his flirtyness but I don’t get why the writers made him do some of the things he did.
I feel like Miu and Maki should have switched places. Miu trying to kill someone doesn’t fully make sense in my opinion, because she is a key way of ending the killing game. Maki makes more sense as a victim who tries to kill Kokichi cause she is the Ultimate Assassin and uses Miu for her own work. Her attacking Kokichi while not knowing the virtual world would be a way Gonta kills her cause he is saving his friend while Kokichi rolls with it. Miu is a prime suspect for it while Gonta is the one revealed as the culprit. It also opens Miu to development and being more nicer. And MAYBE will redeem Kokichi. Also as a Miu x Kiibo shipper, a small kiss before Kiibo faces the exisals would be very nice.
I think they also meant that Sakura was the only one to really kill herself without using it as a tool. The other 2 characters you mentioned have always been focused on one thing, singling out the traitor for Nagito and revealing the mastermind for Kokochi. The implication that they give so little priority to their life is beyond me, since it could be interpreted very differently depending on your relationship with the characters. I don't like them, so for me it meant they were so humanely stupid, not for intelligence (please don't get triggered) but as a whole, as a person. Anyway, Sakura just taking her life was way more impactful because the narrative put more emphasis on her rather than the killing game. At least that's how I see it, feel free to disagree.
Aeris: Doesn't like chapter 5 of V3 Me: So... I wasn't the only one? I found the "Kokichi was good" part really forced, and Kaito being mad at Shuichi because THEY SURVIVED TRIAL 4 was stupid. I think that I only liked the Maki and Kaito confession at the end and the fact that we didn't know who the victim was, but other than that this is not my favorite trial, but at the same time it is not my least favorite
I don't think he was necessarily mad at Shuichi, he was just really angry at what happened at the end of the trial and was putting the blame and taking it out on him. (my brain classifies these as two different things so uh y e a h) Some people think that Kaito wasn't avoiding Shuichi because of anger, but because he wanted to cool down and Shuichi just existing made him upset after what happened. I do agree that Kokichi's "haha I'm good" twist is too forced, despite not hating him. I think he's entertaining but I'm pretty neutral on him.
Actually, Kaito kept his distance from Shuichi because he was jealous of how cool Shuichi was during trials, though, Shuichi's actions in trial 4 did have a part in it.
I agree. It's not my faveorite trial but it isn't my least faveorite. I like the mystery though and it personally kept me hooked. But the Kokichi part was really, REALLY forced and that I dislike. Also, I find it unrealistic that Kokichi just THOUGHT of a way to end himself in like 5 minutes with no backup plan whatsoever. Just like Areis said this guy had so much luck for no reason, another thing I don't like. And also, the fandom treats Kokichi like an "uwu innocent gay boy" and yeah. No. Not the worst trial though. Probably half way through. My faveorite trial might have to be the 4th one in the 1st game maybe? Everything was lay out perfectly imo
I'd personally argue that 2 chapter 3 is the worst, but this one is a very close second. It's like taking everything that made Nagito's trial great and running it over with a garbage truck.
THe thing is we dont know if kokichi is good he could just be lying the amount of mysteries hiddne behind the trial was insane i get why its peoples most favorite but i also understand if it isnt but it no IS THIS THE worst trial
I honestly would’ve liked teruteru less if his beta design was used. It disgusts me that people can pass of s3xual assault because of how they look, and I would respect his character a lot less because of it.
Who tf says they would forgive Teruteru for his acts just cause he looks different? All it does is make those acts make more sense. Like, who’s more likely to s3xually assault you? Cartman from South Park or the popular kid at high school?
I agree. If they used his beta I would not like him at all. My tolerance for the s3xu4l characters is low and if they don't show themselves to be useful and have a good character design I will throw them in the bin where they belong. I like Teruteru a little though but his jokes didn't make me laugh at all and him drugging Hajime in his free time events? 🤠💥🔫 Hilfumi was just there and didn't feel useful at all. All he did was make jokes and when a random girl randomly comes up to him he kills for her? Yeah no, sorry. When I first saw Miu she was kinda funny to me but in all seriousness i hated her at first (as ive said ny tolerance is LOW).At the end of the game I respected her. She tried to kill to get out and "save" the world with her inventions and her inventions were useful for the end of the game. And gotta admit, her jokes made me chuckle a lil bit.
One of my favorites is 2-4, mainly because I find the basis of the mystery being the architecture of the building really interesting and adds another layer of mystery to the murder. Not too mention, the character moments, not just for the obvious Gundham, though I love what this chapter did for Gundham as well as Akane. The character I want to focus on is my favourite character not just in Danganronpa 2, but in the entire franchise, Nekomaru. I really feel this character gets overshadowed by Gundham this chapter, considering he killed Nekomaru, and now we can't interact with him and pick apart his mind, but I feel Nekomaru's Free time events play into the events of this case PERFECTLY, or at least pretty damn well, as he was born with an extremely weak heart, which had him in and out of the hospital constantly as kid and these events even show impact before the murder, when Nekomaru returns as a robot, where it's him that tells Akane it's okay and there's no need to be sorry, because he's alive and that is what matters most, to live life to the fullest and not take it for granted, because 2nd chances at life don't come often like they did for Nekomaru. And the fact that Nekomaru was willing to sacrifice himself for his friends, so they can keep living whilst forfeiting his own life, speaks volumes about Nekomaru as a character.
It also makes me feel so much better that Kaede survived and reunited with Shuichi at the end of the game and those specific characters all lived happily
Honestly I have to agree with you on Game 1’s Chapter 3 Trial being the best. Looking back on it, it was pretty cool to see a chapter 3 culprit that was just dead set on getting out of the killing game instead of killing just because.
I’m personally a big fan of 1-2, 2-5, and 3-5 but hey shit hits different people different. Seeing someone hate on those generally loved trials is unique and new and I liked hearing your thoughts on them.
Also I’m happy that fans of Danganronpa v3 made a version where Shuichi is the protagonist. Because we all know that the Kaede’s execution only takes part in that fan made game and she is the real protagonist. Also I’m so happy that Kaede survived with Ryoma, Kirumi, Shuichi, Maki and Himiko in the real game!
I like lists that the fandom uses to disagree because it shows that everyone has different opinions. And one more time, Aeris making an incredible video, with good editing and stuff.
Two things i would like to point out!!: - completely agree with chapter 5 V3, i actually hate it because it excuses kokichi's actions throughout the whole game even when he was supposed to be the "rival character" and made him extremely dislikeable just to justify him at the end?? kokichi is annoying, and i would've loved if he had an execution //he would be the first rival in danganronpa to have an execution!! neither byakuya or nagito have one// -and V3's final chapter actually intentionally makes tsumugi more dislikeable by it's lenght, is the LONGEST danganronpa trial ever, and even if i adore tsumugi so much, it makes it pretty hard to like her, even considering she has gone full-blown psycopath to everybody wich is really entertaining. //also her execution is very ironic, bc the character that wanted to join danganronpa so bad, didn't got a planned execution and a rock just fell on her lmao, and i like to think she looked sad bc she ended the one thing she cared about the most// anyway i would've loved for someone to finally call out kokichi on the horrible things he did, and more people didn't got to like and experience tsumugi well, bc of how painfully long the final trial is. tsumugi is really interesting and she represents escapism and the worst parts of each fandom!!
I agree with everything and along with a few other reasons that's the only reason why I have a problem with this trial, I like how monokuma is put in a position where he has no control, I like how they still keep Miu's memory and her inventions, and honestly kinda like how big and shocking it is
@@dfox6222 I personally think Kokichi in ch5 was more forced and took away the *lying shit* part out of him honestly and the fandom ruined it with UwU SofT BoY whO didNt totally DriVe GonTa tO kIll MIu NooOOoo While Tsumugi being the mastermind makes sense and adds more to her character! Tsumugi was always in the background not being that important and had no development but showed why she was always in the shadows and made her interesting! Honestly I do prefer Tsumugi over Kokichi.
I used to hate Tsumugi for killing Rantaro and Kaede, but then I realized that Kokichi was responsible for more indirect deaths. Plus Tsumugi’s friendship with Gonta is so sweet that I’ll take the ship between her and Gonta over Gonta X Kokichi.
I prefer the version of the DR abriged of the 1-2 “Chihiro Fujisaki’s corpse was moved to the girl’s dressing room. But in reality, the crime took place in the boy’s room. The reason for this; it’s because Fujisaki... is designated male at birth though I cannot say either way whether they identify as either or any gender but nontheless their ID recognizes them as male. ”
god i remember i cried at least 11 different times during trial 4 of v3, and i even cried about it during this video. gonta really deserved so much better
The idea of Pregame characters really do fascinate me, as what society would the characters have been a product of? I just really despise the fetishization and really bad stuff that goes into people's AUs.
In my non-despair headcanon, something like ultimat talent development plan, I just Imagine monokuma or Tsumugi hosting a fake reality show that may be like the killing game or a show that exists irl, like Survivor or Big Brother.

GUYS I HAVE GOOD NEWS, you can actually interpret drv3 final chapter however you want, the creator said himself that basically, the whole idea for v3 was "why is everyone believing the mastermind?" so aeris saying that kirumi didnt die its actually semi-canon Also to defend celestia, i have revisited the third trial and her actual reason was simply get out of there, its also said that the dream she has becoming true was just a plus coming with getting out of there, also F*CK THE FIFTH TRIAL OF V3
I like to hate Kokichi a lot. From how he was an ass throughout the game and was mostly the reason why Gonta and Miu to die. One thing that made me hate is that how he died. He's death was one of the disappointing deaths in the game series even after replaying it. To be completely honestly I really wanted to see a Kokichi execution like it will be really cool what he's execution will be. Anyway there's so many reasons why I love to dislike him. Chapter 5 was one of the reasons why I don't like him.
"Hajime barely reacted to the Kamakura reveal" My guy went through the FIVE STAGES OF GRIEF, DISSOCIATED BIG TIME, HALLUCINATED LIKE ALL HELL?!?!? "barely reacted"?????
i said that it didn't leave an impact _on me_ , i didn't feel anything or register it personally. as said this was my own opinions on the trial and it didn't impact me. if you're interested in drawing light to it, as i said, your own channel's right there
Funny enough, trail 5 from danganronpa v3 is also my least favourite and I never knew why I just think its cause of the fact that I never really cared for Kaito's character but I will admit when Maki cried I cried as well, her character development is one of my favourite things in the game. Edit: I'm trans and I think its always amazing to see someone defend the trans community
Honestly, going back to the ending of DR1 it's very underrated for being the first game in the series. Also I understand why people dislike Teruteru but he really was a caring person deep down. Plus Sonia in chapter 4 seemed like she would get really good character potential for 4 lines and then she acts like nothing ever happened
I think if she didn't seem extremely sad by the execution it was because she was keeping it, since previously she said she didn't like to be seen crying (if she doesn't like that, she's less like to be seen emotionally shattered) But hey, that's just a guess of mine.
1-2 really hit me where it hurts. As a boy who's always been bullied for being "weak, soft, girly", etc. Chihiro was someone i could relate to, more than any other character. I think his strength is admirable, but what hurts is just the way he died. It felt so.. unnecessary and cruel. I get that it's supposed to showcase this deep despair, but having him killed for opening up to someone really scared me off for a good while.
Thank you so much for pointing out the various hypocrisies and inconsistencies within the fandom (pre-games aren't canon, so you can't use that to justify or redeem Korekiyo and Kokichi, and how people give Miu a pass, and hate Teruteru). These things have always really bothered me, and it makes me happy to see other people acknowledging them.
I completely agree on Toko and Syo in DR1. One of my closest friends is part of a system herself, and I've actually met a Danganronpa fictive in their system (don't want to say who exactly for privacy reasons). Syo is treated like a shock rather than her own legitimate character and it's gross. Not only that, but she is treated as dangerous, when in fact most systems are dangerous at all..! I'm not a system myself so I can't say much, I just don't like how they were written...
Your points against 2-5 ignore like, almost all of the actual trial. You're always extremely vague when you talk about this trial and refuse to talk about like 80% of it. It's really strange.
@@SariSorta then someone should do a proper analysis on whether they like or dislike the trial without ignoring it, because it's fucking impossible to forget a trial THAT damn impactful
I have a certain dislike to this video, the contrarian attitude is the main thing, but i do see your genuine analysis of the characters. This may be my opinion, but it feels like you ranked the bad trials high and the good trials low just because you felt like it, I understand opinionation but judging a trial based on YOUR personal favourite characters not getting the spotlight is upsetting, some of the rankings seem to be based on the execution, where others are not. "Forced Heterosexuality" is something that upsets me, as Maki and Kaito have interacted enough to the point I saw the feelings coming, but anyway it's your opinion and i respect it. I do highly agree with the assessment of Leon and Teruteru, character analysis seems to be your strong suit, due to the lack of subjectivity you put in there. I do enjoy your other content, just this video struck a bell of slight irritation inside of me, I hope you don't see this as insulting but more as a poorly made piece of constructive criticism. but who am I to judge, I would never be able to make a better video, and hell formatting it Best to Worst flowed very well in my opinion. anyway, this is where I stop speaking
Yeah, I'm on a similar playing field, except what threw me for a loop was during the 3-5 explanation where they flat out insulted people for shipping Oumeno. Trauma is not something to push to the side, and while it's valid if a ship doesn't make you comfortable, it's not okay to *literally say "fuck you"* to people just for liking a certain ship because of said trauma. Their opinion on it is completely valid. If they don't ship it, it's fine, but don't go after others who do. Leave them be and let them do their thing. On a similar note, I'm almost certain they got the "erasing the fact that Kokichi is canonically gay" thing, but I could be wrong. It's heavily implied that Kokichi has feelings for Shuichi, but he's not *confirmed* gay, unless there's something in the Japanese translation of the game that I'm simply not aware of, in which case, my apologies. But as far as I'm aware, he never said he was exclusively into men only, and to my knowledge, the only canon sexuality that was confirmed was that of Juzo's. I do believe he's into men, but him being into other genders is not impossible. Other than that, their opinions in this video are valid and all, but some of the things they said,,, *Really* bothered me. It's important to be respectful of others' ships and headcanons, and being disrespectful to the audience because of their own trauma is just,,, Ehhhh kinda a turn-off. I'm not trying to downplay trauma by any means, as a disclaimer, I'm just saying they should be more respectful, trauma or not. Aeris is wonderful, and I've been following their content for a while now, but this didn't sit right with me.
Agreed. It really feels like she just ranked these trials based on knee jerk reaction and hardly bothered to look back once, especially with the last 3. She straight up forgot key aspects of the second trial of the first game, the 5th one in dr2 was literally a blur to her, and she didn't even bother to play the 5th trial of the third game after the first time. Even if it's that bad, the least you can do is look get a better understanding of why it's bad.
My least favorite quote because it doesn’t make any sense. Mondo killed Chihiro out of jealousy for his mental strength to fight his inferiority complex. Chihiro ain’t trans either. If you ask “proof?”, then let me introduce you to school mode, because you clearly haven’t heard of it if you think that Chihiro is trans. In Chihiro’s ending, he admits that he’s a guy to Makoto and gets upset when Makoto thinks that he’s joking. Aeris, if you’re reading this, by chance did you smash your head against the wall because of 3-5 and 2-5 being so bad that you got brain damage?
@@dmytriibelobrov2700 Aeris outright said in the video that just cause a character isn’t trans doesn’t mean they can’t use the tropes associated with it, we’re you not paying attention when they said that or something?
Finally! Idk that always bothered me that the “pretty” pervy characters are fan favorites when the ones that are drawn goofier and have less conventionally attractive features are overhated.
So out of curiosity, what do you think about this for a rival charater: The ultimate lawyer. Basically, it was someone who was wrongly accused and went to prison, which was complete hell for him. He served his sentence, but then he decided that he doesn't want anyone to suffer his fate. So he decided to become a lawyer to help protect the weak and innocent. However, because he was the ultimate lawyer, it got to the point where he would do anything to defend his clients. Even lying and manipluation, just so his client can survive...even if he knows his client is guilty. Oh, and to clarify, he usually tries to defend the people that almost everyone is turned against in the class trial...which could either be the culprit, or innocent people, including the player. What kind of character is this to you in your opinion?
@@kiera6326 honestly everytime i try to roleplay as one in discord..he usually doesn't end up how i described him to be in the trials. Hell, he is usually the blackened in case 2, killing out of fear and paranoia.
Not trying to talk over trans people here, just giving my two cents: I personally connected to Chihiro Fujisaki in a big way. I relate to his feelings of "weakness" and insecurity a lot, and appreciated the message behind his character arc. It felt.. reassuring. As a cis guy, I’ve never been super "traditionally" masculine, and I've struggled to accept myself despite not fitting into that mold, so seeing another character face a similar kind of internal conflict meant a lot to me. When tackling issues of toxic masculinity in popular media, we tend to get a lot of antagonistic characters driven by that (Mondo, as you said), but I don’t think we focus enough on how these social norms surrounding gender can affect people who don’t conform to stereotypes / attached ideals, particularly from a male perspective. Good video all the same.
i don't exactly disagree with this, but it is still painful for trans people to effectively watch a transfemme character come out as DMAB and get murdered over it. there were much better ways to write this kind of arc and there is quite a middle ground between 'effectively a coffee shop au of the affair' and '0 to Murder'. still, i think this is the first comment that provides someone else's perspective and yet doesn't claim that I was wrong to call the trial transphobic, so that's good.
in all honesty, all I can say is FUCKING FINALLY. Finally someone chose to acknowledge how the 5th chapter of v3 was a mess, and that Kokichi's narrative had so much favoritism put into it where the first chance someone has to even try to kill them, they got shot in the foot and are labeled a skank for touching the "uwu gay boi." ( Also yea it's pretty obvious I enjoy Miu as a character from my pfp, But still she doesn't deserve to be hated on just for trying to kill a character some really favor over others. ) In all seriousness, This video was great, I'm so happy to see a danganronpa RUclipsr finally ackonowledge the fact that some trials were genuinly bad. and that rant at the end oh so fucking good.
ofc kokichi got focus, he’s a character who embodies one of the themes of the game. just because they tried to give him depth to portray the multifaceted reasons that people lie doesn’t mean it’s “favoritism.”
I dont think they intended to be "misogynistic" with Kaede getting killed and switching to Shuichi yeah i would've like a female protagonist besides Komaru although she isn't in a killing game anyway. But to be honest I think majority prefer Shuichi to Kaede even if Kaede was the true protagonist
You know Mondos trial is odd to me. I’m a person who relates to Chihiro as a guy who likes to wear female clothing and I see Mondo as someone who had anger issues that doubled down on his toxic masculinity. I do feel bad for Mondo too but only because I see him as someone who was equally failed by society. I’m sorry if that is bad in other people’s eyes, but I suppose that’s the fault of my brain 😅. I totally see where you’re coming from and I suppose I just didn’t have the mindset to see that, especially the trans hate.
I as the ultimate Fujisaki worshipper, I’m here to disprove your stupidity. We already know why Chihiro can’t be trans *OR* use she or they pronouns. It’s simple. Why are people so fucking dense? Chihiro states that he is a guy in his school mode ending. STOP SAYING HES TRANS OR ILL RIP OUT YOUR VOCAL COARDS. Chihiro only wore female clothing to stop his bullying or at least lessen it. Even if Chihiro was somehow trans, MONDO KILLED CHIHIRO BECAUSE OF JEALOUSY AT THE FACT THAT HE WAS MENTALLY STRONGER THEN HIM AND FACE HIS INFERIORITY COMPLEX. I’m sorry but whenever people say this kinda stuff, it makes me pissed and makes it impossible for me to be civil about it. AAAAAAAAA-WHY ARE PEOPLE LIKE YOU SO DENSE! **WHY?!**
@@dmytriibelobrov2700 thank you for providing proof and blowing aeris is complaints up, when is saw where it was placed, I got angry, especially seeing 1-3 be in the top 2
@@dmytriibelobrov2700 Never actually seen the school mode ending, so was always under the impression we never fully knew what Chihiro was (it definitely wouldn’t be off limits for Junko to lie about it to disrespect his memory), but I always used “they” pronouns, because that’s what Chihiro’s dad uses for him in UDG, and I thought of all people, his dad would know
See, I never really saw Mondo as a toxic masculinity rep, more like a guy who doesn't know any better. He ultimately killed Chihiro because he felt like it was the universe calling him weak that a character that he knew this whole time to be shy and frail was ultimately stronger that he was. I really like Mondo because in some respects I can sympathize with him. Has to play the tough guy cause if his weakness shows everything he's ever worked on is ruined. Plus his friendship with Kiyotaka is something I know all too well, two dudes being strong together because they believe they have to be when under the surface there is a more emotional side to thier friendship. I personally just think Mondo is bad at expressing himself, something show in the ultimate development plan (which I know isn't fully canon, but the character traits are). Either way, cool video, its always nice to get others opinions on topics!
i really don't care about mondo's reasoning or exactly what the motivations were; ultimately mondo crushed chihiro's skull because they came out as DMAB to him and that made him angry enough to consider murder. it does in fact take a lot of strength to come out, and being murdered for it is a very painful and possible reality for many trans folks. to see it defended is painful to us.
I'm in no way condoning what he did, I'm just saying why he did it. I find it really awful that this is a reality for so many people, I just don't like that Mondo is described as a transphobe when he isn't. If he was he wouldn't have tried to keep Chihiro's secret or felt guilt for his actions
3:38 Don't mind me, just saving this screenshot for later lol. Celeste is just alright for me at least compared to most of the characters, but damn if she doesn't have one of the best motives in the series
Looks like I spoke too soon, there's more to the gag hahahahaha! I find it so funny how often all the Chapter 3 killers get compared to each other unlike with other chapter-similar killers by the fandom for some reason
Teruteru gets so much shit, like yeah pervert characters can be tiring but tons of other characters can say everything under the sun but somehow Teru is the worst? He’s just a scared country bumpkin that tried to do right but ultimately screwed up. Like with his free time events he’s very obviously just struggling with his identity and status, which could explain why he wants to get married/date/sleep with someone because companionship is a sign of status when you live in a tiny remote town. Same with Hifumi, if Hifumi or Teru were busty anime girls they’d both be fan favorites.
@@griffindelta408 uhhhh have you forgotten that love hotels aren’t canon??? also, even if they were canon. why would someone else being a rapist change the fact that teruteru also attempted rape??? like. it wouldn’t make him not an attempted rapist...
@@alexadyck5981 uhh, have you- fuck this I’m not saying that shit anymore, gets old fast. I’m not saying that people actually raping people excuses TeruTeru’s actions. I’m just saying that Miu apparently has a flame shield when she attempts (or commits) sexual assault *more than once*, but TeruTeru attempts rape and everyone goes apeshit. I know this sounds like I’m saying TeruTeru doesn’t deserve any flak for his actions and he’s the purest being in the world and that completely excuses the attempted rape. I’m not saying that. What I AM saying is that something’s going on in the community if a tall, pale woman committing *several* acts of sexual assault is completely glossed over because “uwu so sexy”, but a short, darker skin male attempting it is never forgotten, which, no shit, but what about Miu?
YES. YOU PUT EXACTLY HOW I FEEL ABOUT KOKICHI INTO WORDS. THANK YOU. Also, I agree about Gonta. He really deserved better. I really liked him, and seeing how Kokichi treated him during the trial made me so sad.
You know? I'm so glad that both Kirumi and Ryoma made it out of the killing game and are totally not dead. Oh did I mention v3's chapter 2 doesn't exist? Yeah chapter 2 never happened, both Kirumi and Ryoma are alive. That's the truth.
I hate that in trial 2:5 that everyone loses their minds over Chiaki dying. Everyone is crying and are cursing Nagito for all of this and it’s such a big deal but like WHY? What did Chiaki do that was garnering all of these tears from the characters? Like I get that she sacrificed herself but what about Gundahm? He literally sacrificed himself so everyone would live. Mikan was straight up forced to kill by despair disease and Teruteru was trying to kill Nagito, the guy who caused this whole mess. Why do they care so much about Chiaki when there are characters IN THE SAME GAME who have done basically the same thing and they didn’t care. It’s like she was meant to be the player’s favourite so the characters have to feel bad for her too, even when nothing happened between them. It just really ticks me off
@@SlavoidUkr The things is that some characters like Kazuichi didn’t even have a close bond with her and he was tearing up which doesn’t really make much sense, and Her and Hajime also weren’t really close. You could count in free time events but those are optional and they don’t affect the story

To any reader seeing this comment, I do not mean to offend anyone. My only reason for making this is to bring my perspective, as I find the DRV3 trial to be good. I keep seeing points about chapter 5 that hint at Kokichi not being aknowledged as a bad person. Yet what I find odd is that the whole game, DRV3 portrays Kokichi as a manipulative person who only does things to his own benefit while *hinting* that he has a redeeming side through having Kaito kill. Kokichi is not stated to be a good guy, but from his actions and his whole trait being a lie machine, can you actually know what his true character is like? Kokichi’s actions before chapter 5 were pretty terrible, no doubt about that. Yet he did help the group from time to time. And I saw a comment that Kaito’s hate towards Shuichi after the chapter 4 trial was uncalled for. Yet he is the definition of using emotions to find the truth. In that trial, the only person who knows the truth is Kokichi. Kaito refuses to notice that and then when Shuichi finds the actual truth, invalidating Kaito’s ideals, of course he would get mad. Because he acts impulsively. He probably couldn’t bring himself to vote for Gonta Even If he wanted to, as that would mean saying ”Kokichi is right.” And of course, he doesn’t want to agree with that because Of one thing. Kokichi is a bad person.
Wh-Whats this? HETEROSEXUAL CHARACTERS IN A VIDEO GAME?!?!! WORST TRIAL EVER!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 (obviously an exaggeration, but it's still funny to think about.)
Compulsory heterosexuality is the actual term, Aeris MEANT to say that its saying someone saying their heterosexual when they don't feel that way, and her argument is that Maki had an implied crush on a female student in an orphanage. Not saying I agree, it's entirely possible she's bi, but just saying
(i haven’t seen the free time events in like, forever so don’t take my opinion to heart) if i recall, maki was just best friends or something with the girl, i probably need to rewatch her free time events though.
I find it hard to understand how trial two in THH is seen the way it is. Mondo kills Chihiro solely for the fact that they were stronger emotionally. Chihiros gender identity is not very important in that matter. Whatever interpretation you would like to take with chihiros murder I can’t see how it’s transphobic. Mondo is treated as sympathetic in his weakness and his failure to overcome it and is not shown to hate chihiro for their identity. Although the trial defo deserves to be knocked down quite a few pegs for how horribly they handled syo.
@@scootermcpeanuts6699 because being trans means you're MUCH more likely to see transphobia on a regular basis and as a result you're gonna be a LOT better at recognizing it than cis people given that there's a LOT of cis people who probably haven't (knowingly) met a trans person irl or had a meaningful conversation in good faith with one about trans issues as a whole they're much less likely to be able to recognize transphobia outside the exceedingly obvious aspects of it not that they can't be informed about trans issues, just that they're more likely to have blindspots in respect to transphobia because unless they go out of their way to interact with trans issues they are able to avoid it for the most part
@@vivaciousarcanist3389 you don’t need to identify a certain way to read the text in a game and fully understand that mondo killing chihiro had nothing to do with their identity, he was jealous of chihiro’s courage and ended up killing him in a blind rage. OK i know that this is supposed to be a relatively serious and insightful video (which it is, i really like your takes on the trials) but gundham on a pogo stick actually had me in tears you've made my night
But but kaito or maki getting tired of kokichi’s bullshit and decided to shoot his ass is impossible because he’s an UwU sMolL gAy BaBy BoI But getting serious now mondo going through the trouble of carrying Chihiro’s body into the locker room which could risk him getting caught shows how much he regrets killing them and that he wanted to keep chihiro’s secret safe.
there's still the issue of "he was so angry to learn chihiro's AGAB that he caved in their head", and the circumstances imply he would've done it even if there wasn't a killing game going on. doesn't really matter if he regretted it later, the act still hurts trans folks and i've had at least half a dozen cis people try to talk over me on this
I physically CANNOT bring myself to watch Gonta’s execution. Not just because he’s one of my favorite characters, but because this is the only Danganronpa execution (maybe besides Gundham) where animals kill the blackened in a slow painful death. Also the thought of a parasitic animal living inside you and eating you on the inside and killing you and others because of its contagiousness is absolutely terrifying to me (yes even if it’s happening to a robotic bear).
I really like this list for how controversial it is. I think this might be the first ranking on RUclips that I've seen where Danganronpa 2 case 5 isn't number 1. it's not like they can't headcanon Kokichi as bi. Who cares what he says in the game? Our head is a very special space that can create many different things with no exact base other than our wishes. I can get certain ships can be wrong like shipping an adult with a minor. But you're clouding your judgement by using trauma to call a whole group of people homophobic just because they don't agree with your headcanons. And, again, trauma can hurt a lot but you can't defend yourself with it and to also attack other people because of it, it's not an excuse, especially in this case. And no once again don't assume that I'm straight or heteronormative or that I ship Oumeno (hell I don't exactly ship him with anyone, I ship Shuichi with Kaito). It's just that this is all a bit overboard for two fictional characters who aren't essentially breaking any kind of moral or legal stuff. I get you have your opinions and headcanons and that this is your space, but keep in mind you're still a creator that does influence people, both positively AND negatively depending on what you say? It's like you're sending the message that if it is straight, it is bad or forced. And, is that any different to how they treat us? I don't ask nor necessarily want a response, I just wanted to voice my problems with you. I like you as a creator but even then you still do say bad things and assume things out of an innocent group of people and then proceed to defend yourself with trauma or your gender You can read this, you can respond to this, you can block me, whatever. But you know that a response that's just to insult me won't make you any less right. I'm not attacking you for who you are, Aeris. I'm just saying this because of what you say and make other people feel. I don't think you're a bad person but you have to stop being this aggressive with no self-control. On the internet of all things. Voice your headcanons, it's fine, but don't force them onto people and then attack other normal ships and headcanons and call them name. Make a space you can be comfortable in but don't make it hell for everyone else. You're still a face in the DR community, a channel that appears when you search for DR videos. Don't represent the LGBTQ+ part of this fandom this way, don't make it seems so open, yet so closed-off. Sorry for the rant, once again, not asking for anything, less a response. Quick rant about chapter 4 before I go back to pretending it doesn't exist I don't know how many people will agree with me on this, but the trial would've been SO much more interesting if miu had succeeded in killing kokichi. And we could keep the plot of kokichi trying to get gonta to kill miu, but have him not go through with it because, y'know, murder friend bad. And keep the plot point of him not remembering the virtual world. Because now we have someone who *literally wittnessed the murder*, but completely forgot it. And miu could try and manipulate the entire trial by giving fake information about the virtual world, bonus points if it helps her frame kaito. Plus miu's execution could've been so cool considering her talent

2-5 & 3-5 : *”oh no.”*
3-5 I'm in danger
1-5: No home cooking for you
Though I don’t agree with some of your placements, I understand why you placed them there and there.
I think the thing that I took away from V3 chapter 6 will always be "you're not weird for caring about fictional characters and being emotional over the things that happen to them"
I feel weird cause I always feel like the one person who got this message and it feels like I've missed something oops.
Most people like the case 5 trials because their favorite character dies
Why does Aeris not liking these trials, make much more sense now.
@LexiLoree that’s great but some many people like it just because of one character
masochism at it's finest
in my case DRV3 case 1 is my personal favorite
can you guess my favorite character
Well 2-5 is still my favorite not only because one of the most interesting characters dies but the both the motive and how it was executed was well done. Cause a lot of people (at least from what I've seen) expected Nagito to be a survivor but no he and Chiaki are both taken out on the same chapter with Nagito wanting to weed the traitor out using all means even if it means taking his own life, also the build up from Nagito planning this and gathering all he can get from all previous islands is just well done, it really makes a lot of sense for him to use all island can offer.
@@yurionagony7782 well it depends, it could be Rantaro, Kaede, Shuichi, or any or the others

@@WatchingLainrn amazing
I just realised this but, Kokichi is technically one of the characters responsible for the most deaths
Which include
Himself
Miu Iruma
Gonta Gokuhara
And Kaito Momota
Yeah honestly
isn't Nagito the same? He technically was responsible for Teruteru, Impostor, Chiaki (technically) and himself.

I agree with the rest though.
about the 11037 thing:
to type on a computer in japanese, one of the most common methods is to actually use english characters to write a word/phrase and then select from a list what those characters are. for example, if you type "migikata" it turns each syllable into hiragana or katakana ”みぎかた” and then you press space, which is when a list would pop up next to it and you can then choose what specifically you were trying to type (”右肩“、"右下腿“、"右肩を", etc..) once you highlight with the arrow keys or cursor which one you want in the list, you press enter and then you can continue typing. we know that kyoko and makoto type on the laptop to talk to alter ego (at least in the game), and the anime shows that they actually use this method to type and talk to alter ego on the laptop. therefore, makoto and kyoko would at least know how to write japanese in english characters (and likely what sound each letter makes).
while L isn't used in japanese when talking, it IS used to make smaller hiragana characters when using IME (ぁ、ぃ、ぅ、ぇ、ぉ)and so they likely also know what sound L makes or at least what L is.
Yeah. Like i wouldn’t be painfully obvious to them but it’s also not so complicated you don’t understand how the figured it out

chapter two ( DRV3 ) will always be a number one for me. The most depressing part of this is that his death could've been avoided if that lying little bitch Kokichi just would've said that Maki's true identity was the ultimate assassin, then Maki wouldn't have given Ryoma his motive video
but having nothing on his motive video, knowing that he has no one in his life that is important to him or anyone else must have left him so distraught it hurts me. It overall was a painful trail for me and many others.
Kokichi did want everyone to exchange motive videos. If everyone did, the group could have convinced Ryoma they all truly do care about him, and possibly save his life. Though, you still are correct about Maki.
Come to think of it, I think Kirumi had one of the best mental breaking (I don't know how to say it)

(my brain classifies these as two different things so uh y e a h)
Some people think that Kaito wasn't avoiding Shuichi because of anger, but because he wanted to cool down and Shuichi just existing made him upset after what happened.

Aoi was the fanservice in Chapter 3.
Celeste was the fans service in Chapter 3.
Okay but seriously an octagon is a shape with 3 sides right
I knew I couldn't be the only one who believed that this backstory (and the character) It's underrated

I like lists that the fandom uses to disagree because it shows that everyone has different opinions. And one more time, Aeris making an incredible video, with good editing and stuff.
Two things i would like to point out!!:
- completely agree with chapter 5 V3, i actually hate it because it excuses kokichi's actions throughout the whole game even when he was supposed to be the "rival character" and made him extremely dislikeable just to justify him at the end?? kokichi is annoying, and i would've loved if he had an execution //he would be the first rival in danganronpa to have an execution!! neither byakuya or nagito have one//
-and V3's final chapter actually intentionally makes tsumugi more dislikeable by it's lenght, is the LONGEST danganronpa trial ever, and even if i adore tsumugi so much, it makes it pretty hard to like her, even considering she has gone full-blown psycopath to everybody wich is really entertaining. //also her execution is very ironic, bc the character that wanted to join danganronpa so bad, didn't got a planned execution and a rock just fell on her lmao, and i like to think she looked sad bc she ended the one thing she cared about the most//
anyway i would've loved for someone to finally call out kokichi on the horrible things he did, and more people didn't got to like and experience tsumugi well, bc of how painfully long the final trial is. tsumugi is really interesting and she represents escapism and the worst parts of each fandom!!
Finally someone who doesn't hate Tsumugi and her exection. To me, her execution is one of the most iconic executions in Danganronpa.
I agree with everything and along with a few other reasons that's the only reason why I have a problem with this trial, I like how monokuma is put in a position where he has no control, I like how they still keep Miu's memory and her inventions, and honestly kinda like how big and shocking it is
Am I the only person who prefers Tsumugi over Kokichi? Not just as a villain, but as a character.

It's really strange.
the whole trial is just a barely-there haze in my brain even after trying to revisit it
Same for 3-5 honestly.
People don't talk about 80% of it when Praising it either
@@SariSorta Can't argue with that either.
@@SariSorta then someone should do a proper analysis on whether they like or dislike the trial without ignoring it, because it's fucking impossible to forget a trial THAT damn impactful
Yesterday was Ryoma Monday great
I have a certain dislike to this video, the contrarian attitude is the main thing, but i do see your genuine analysis of the characters.

@Crimson Fox Complete agree, some of these takes were really questionable
“ *FINISH THAT SENTENCE AND I WILL FINISH YOUR EXISTENCE* “
my new favorite quote :D
@Wowie Zowie Oh f**k, right, can't believe I f**ked that one up, I'll fix it now, thanks for letting me know.
Almost as good as "FINISH THAT SENTENCE AND I'LL TEACH YOUR THROAT SLASH!"
Sounds cool, makes me wonder that scenario.
OMG I LOVE THAT IDEA! Thats creative as hell dude!
Always thought an ultimate lawyer would be interesting, but saw them more as a neutral character involved with both the protagonist and the rival
@@kiera6326 honestly everytime i try to roleplay as one in discord..he usually doesn't end up how i described him to be in the trials. Hell, he is usually the blackened in case 2, killing out of fear and paranoia.
Not trying to talk over trans people here, just giving my two cents:
I personally connected to Chihiro Fujisaki in a big way.
Great video Aeris, your comedy style is super entertaining and the balance of information and memes is superb.
in all honesty, all I can say is FUCKING FINALLY.
But to be honest I think majority prefer Shuichi to Kaede even if Kaede was the true protagonist
i don't believe it was intentional either, but it still is misogynistic
@@DetectiveNyx misogyny requires intent and it's not like Danganronpa ever hated women

So just unintentional sexism really, not fill on misogyny. I’m just guessing
Man now I want a whole video of you talking about kokichi because nobody talks about how terrible of a person he is.
**WHY?!**

@@dmytriibelobrov2700 YES SOMEONE SAID ITTT
If he was he wouldn't have tried to keep Chihiro's secret or felt guilt for his actions
and I'm tired of having my trauma and a very real way my life could end explained away and sympathised
Sorry, I guess I never really realised the implications for trans people
Still, good video, you make some pretty cool stuff!

Teruteru gets so much shit, like yeah pervert characters can be tiring but tons of other characters can say everything under the sun but somehow Teru is the worst? He’s just a scared country bumpkin that tried to do right but ultimately screwed up.

Me as soon as seeing AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA as the subtitle
*oh so it's 3-2*
30:18 yes, because their relationship totally had no build-up in the previous chapters, definitely 'forced' heterosexuality.
Wh-Whats this? HETEROSEXUAL CHARACTERS IN A VIDEO GAME?!?!! WORST TRIAL EVER!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 (obviously an exaggeration, but it's still funny to think about.)
Exactly! I thought Kaito and Maki were a well written ship! I loved them!
Although the trial defo deserves to be knocked down quite a few pegs for how horribly they handled syo.
are you trans?
@@DetectiveNyx why does that matter?
@@scootermcpeanuts6699 because being trans means you're MUCH more likely to see transphobia on a regular basis and as a result you're gonna be a LOT better at recognizing it than cis people
given that there's a LOT of cis people who probably haven't (knowingly) met a trans person irl or had a meaningful conversation in good faith with one about trans issues as a whole they're much less likely to be able to recognize transphobia outside the exceedingly obvious aspects of it
not that they can't be informed about trans issues, just that they're more likely to have blindspots in respect to transphobia because unless they go out of their way to interact with trans issues they are able to avoid it for the most part

But getting serious now
mondo going through the trouble of carrying Chihiro’s body into the locker room which could risk him getting caught shows how much he regrets killing them and that he wanted to keep chihiro’s secret safe.
there's still the issue of "he was so angry to learn chihiro's AGAB that he caved in their head", and the circumstances imply he would've done it even if there wasn't a killing game going on. doesn't really matter if he regretted it later, the act still hurts trans folks and i've had at least half a dozen cis people try to talk over me on this
I physically CANNOT bring myself to watch Gonta’s execution. it's not like they can't headcanon Kokichi as bi.
I like you as a creator but even then you still do say bad things and assume things out of an innocent group of people and then proceed to defend yourself with trauma or your gender
You can read this, you can respond to this, you can block me, whatever.
