Great stuff but what did we lose? I am totally annoyed because cubase 14 can't remember my control surface. Used to be set it and forget it. Now anytime you shutdown Cubase it forgets. Can't save to a template or session. Have to reload each time. Sorry for venting. It's just such a time suck. For me the modulators don't make up for it 😞
Might be a temporary glitch? I’m experiencing one where my transport panel disappears when I close the lower zone. When I resize my window it fixes itself 💁🏻♀️ Could be a Mac thing.
@@alicebyno Thanks Alice. I reached out to a Steinberg rep and was told they were aware of it and that maybe there might be a fix in a future update. I just don't like paying for an upgrade then learning I'm a beta tester. Hope your issue gets resolved too.
u mean Midi Controllers? I use 4 different ones M-AUDIO AXIOM 61 Keyboard, Arturia MiniLab, AKAI APC 25, and Arturia Beatstep all 4 will be recognized and reloaded after restart on C14. So what Midi controller ist it , and did u make your own MIDI remotecontrol script? I migght misuderstand your issues, so pls explain. i just reloaded 5 times 3 controllers active in a project.
I reported this issue to Steinberg, as soon as 14 came out. Since then, they have been ignoring my emails knowing they have no fix to this problem. I found out from the surface developer that this has already been fixed in the 14.0.10 version.
I'm in love with this version. I'm sorta a DAW ho, because I use different ones based on either features or when I colab. But this new version of Cubase has me somewhat in a commited relationship with it now 😊😊(along side Bitwig tho)
1 thing i still miss since ages, when adding a midi track, lets say you have a few midi controllers and midi keyboards, you have 2 options for the input. 1- you can choose All midi ( and that is the default option) 2- you can choose only one device as an input. it would be nice to be able to choose 2 or 3 for specific tracks, for example, when i want to record a solo violin, i like to have input of a midi keyboard and the breath contoller, when i use uvi sounds i like to have the midi keyboard and the expressive touche, but i dont like to have anything else as input, and this is not possible, i really dont understand why they dont allow it
I see. Some checkboxes in front of the available inputs would seem like a simple and user friendly addition. Coming from someone who doesn’t know any programming 😅
@@alicebyno exactly, i understand most people dont botther about this stuff, but some like me like i said when i record some tracks i dont want the track to pick any CC from other devices, for example, the touche is very sensitiv, when i play the keys with the breathcontroller i always have to unplug the touche while recording
I love the new features. The browsing in mediabay is nicer than ever. Also the interface colors are nicer to the eyes. Too bad they are not releasing any surface control for cubase. One made by steinberg for cubase users.
These are different times - most professional studio users don't use controllers today. Mouse, macros and key commands are faster than a desktop fader surface.
Depends on if you’re going to use these new features. I always just upgrade now because otherwise the gap gets bigger with every new version coming out. From pro to pro it’s around 100$.
I like all the new ways to interact with the events, the selection tool, and the new drum machine seems cool too. I'm still trying to slolem the learning curves, so there's always a lot to learn and explore. Oh, yeah--and I like how it goes fully Dark Mode too! I appreciate how you've explained these new features, Alice. Keep on creating, everybody!
The design is such a dealbreaker for me, it's hard to look at cubase for long periods of time. Also, although their midi to notation engine is unparalleled, the practical use of writing in notation in Cubase is terrible. The playback cursor and "caret" need to be controlled separately, and you can't even click somewhere on the score to have the playback cursor jump there, instead you have to go back to the project window to set a playback position. So weird.
Thanks Trillions Alice for running thru in such a short time yet so effectively... Please keep em coming ..... Cheers !
I will! 😁🙏🏻
Nice video. For me Drum Track work perfectly with NI Battery
Awesome!
Loved your videos ❤ thanks for making videos on cubase .. really help a lot!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great Job!
Thanks!
Best Feature 👌🏻💪🏻 is the pattern sequencer
Not something I personally gravitate to, but it’s obviously in demand since they’ve added it 💁🏻♀️
Thanks for your useful tips! Always appreciated.

I subscribed. 💪🏿 love the channel
Thanks so much! 😊

@spadogs I guess releasing it to the users is the most efficient way to find remaining issues.

Alice great job, good video!

Cubase is the BEST !!!!!!!!!
It is!
Saludos desde México.
Nice! Saludos desde Bélgica 😁
Straight forward video. Well done.
Thanks!
Thank you, Alice.
To upgrade from 13. It goes smoothly?
Yes, I’ve had no issues!

I wish the three of you many more happy years together!
@@alicebynowe will! Now that we have DAWProject integration with both 😊
Can you chopp audio sampels in the new drum machine?
Yes, in the sense of: you can load a sample and trim it, with a fade in/out.

Facts!

only the AVID controllers like S1, S3 e.g. are good enough as a surface!
@Byron101_ I will try to rely more on shortcuts and macros! I do like surface controllers!
@@ehtaabbundhoo384 yes I understand you, both are great to use! but I personally don´t like the "cheaper" controllers.
Now a cliplauncher for fast and great song structures like ableton..bitwig..studio one etc
Sounds interesting!
Most complete DAW ever. Lets goooooo✌️😁
🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you for now future
Nice vid. Looks like I'm going to have to fork out the hundred quid to get the upgrade from Cubase 13😊
Who needs groceries when you have a modulation matrix? 💁🏻♀️
@ Haha - Yeah, I get all my sustenance from music creation 😀
It's an amazing update ! I only wish, I hadn't bought ShaperBox like a week before that 😆damn. The drum synth feature is sick AF LETS FAKIN GOOOOOOO
🤣🤣
Try to get a refund
Is it even worth upgrading from.13 pro to 14 pro? Whats the cost to upgrade?

I’m definitely going to “waste” a lot of time in the drum machine. It’s too much fun 💁🏻♀️
Also it's 2024 and they don't have effect racks for parallel effect processing? Steinberg my god.
I think I’ve seen that in Ableton right? Guess we’ll have to build our parallel chains “manually” still 😁
@alicebyno lol like a peasant, yes.
Unfortunately they didnt give me the free update which many other got although I recently purchased 14 pro. Poor customer service.
If you meet the criteria that’s odd indeed.
@ yes they are vague about it. They said they sent a time based update, which I never noticed!
@ Should be a voucher in your Steinberg account
@@alicebyno I didn’t find any from what I saw.
Still the worst DAW for click to operation ratio, contrasts, colors, millions of similar icons jammed in together.
me Likes :)
Girl, does u and Lanewood cousins or related??thanks for the tutorial...cheers
No 😂 Unless you’re counting the extended Cubase fam 🤓
$100

Oh wow, that sounds very annoying indeed. I don’t use notation, so didn’t know.
@@alicebynoSorry to vent here. Your videos are really great and helped me research and learn about Cubase functionality!
