I cant do such a big list, because I just fully played Twilight Princess and Wind Waker, but I try as far as I can. 14: WW Wind Temple - Man I hate this whole tower like thing, didnt get throught it and didnt even like it. 13: WW Forbidden Woods - Literally everything hit me down, annoyed me and even get stuck on me, just because they wanted to slow me. (And as a kid I was too stupid for the boss) 12: TP Lakebed Temple - I guess I dont need to say anything, everything I can say was already said in this video. 11: TP Temple of Time - I hated it so much walking the whole dungeon up, just to go down again. 10: TP City in the Sky - I liked the lost village before this dungeon, but as far as I can remember, everything that flew there annoyed me (Already a few years in the past, since I played my first time this game) 9: TP Palace of Twilight - It was good for the lore, but the whole shadow thing wasnt good for me. I hate the hands and im not that big fan of the atmosphere, but this dungeon is still fine tho. 8: WW Forsaken Fortress - I guess the point why its here in my list is because I kinda got a trauma the first time I did this fortress in my childhood. Sneaking through wasnt my thing, now its okay and I like to do bonkers later. 7: WW Tower of the gods - Its a solid dungeon. I dont really have a problem with anything, but I dont really like anything in this dungeon either. The only part that I dont like is the water part at the beginning, because its so slow and doesnt make fun. 6: TP Forest Temple - I cant remember much of this dungeon, but I cant remember bad things too. I guess im fine with it. 5: TP Goron Mines - Like the Forest Temple, I cant remember very much but I like the Gorons, I like lava dungeons and as far as I can remember the lore was kinda cool. Wasnt it the game where you sumoring the Goron dude too? That was nice too. 4: WW Earth Temple - This dungeon has a lot of points which are pain (the whole shadow thing mainly), but I like the system of this dungeon and I love the whole story and character design about Medli. Probably my favourite character in this whole series. She carried the whole thing in this tierlist so hard. 3: TP Arbiters Grounds - The system with the wheel thing (I dont know the english name tho) is pretty cool and the area fits pretty well. Even the boss fight is cool, even when he annoyed me sometimes. 2: TP Snowpeak Ruins - Man what should I say. Everything I could say was already said in this video. The yetis are such nice characters and the dungeon is pretty cool too. I definitely will play it again. 1: WW Dragon Roost Cavern - Wind Waker was my first Zelda and I love the atmosphere in this game. I like the Rito, the story around Valoo, the gimmicks like throwing water pots on lava to get through and even the boss fight. For me thats clearly the best dungeon (And the island has the best track in the whole series)
Two things on the fire temple theme. It wasn’t unreleased. It was on the original run but was removed on later versions. Secondly it wasn’t removed because it was deemed offensive it was removed because Nintendo had a no religion policy.
Replaying twilight princess made me like the lakebed temple wayyyyy more then I originally did, I used to hate it but I actually didn’t mind it this time around
I still think the visual of the spiral room in the forest temple, as well as the straightening of said room, is one of the coolest puzzle concepts in any Zelda game.
Yeah, the *only* thing I hated about forest temple were the walmasters whose shadow would appear over your head, and if you didn’t move within a few second would pick you up and drop you all the way at the beginning of the dungeon. Always found that a bit punishing, though avoiding the wall masters isint difficult, I think it more creeped me out/is my second least favorite enemy, behind the “re-dead” that freeze link in place, scream, and then molest him from behind 😅
Your point about the water temple in TOTK hits the nail on the head. I love the BOTW and TOTK games, but I seriously miss the classic 3D dungeon design.
@@Ryan64yt exactly. I grew up with this kind of Zelda, and far be it from me to stretch a development team’s creative talents thin by asking them to force themselves to create a much more traditional game than they’d ideally want, but I mean… it’s been over a decade since we’ve had a truly traditional 3D Zelda. I’d say it’s about time. In the Direct tomorrow, I’m not expecting an announcement of a new Zelda in the vein of OoT or something, but ports of TP and WW to Switch would at the very least be nice… I can’t believe how Mario Bros U gets a switch port, but for some reason Nintendo refuses to capitalize on the obvious sales they’d get from re-releasing TP and WW.
I hope that they will find a middle ground between the open world structure of the switch games and the more linear main quests of previous games, that way we get the best of both worlds
People gotta admit at this point TOTK is full price DLC. At least it is ""acceptable"" to critique it now whereas BOTW had years of no one being allowed to talk about its flaws without being shouted out of the room. The lack of dungeons from BOTH nu-Zelda games absolutely slays me. You don't know what you got... til it's gone... and I never realized how much I loved Zelda specifically FOR its dungeons until they were removed.
@@WeeG-bwc77 considering how i recently paid $40 for shadow of the erdtree, this isn’t as egregious as you’d think lol Considering the frequency of releases in this series (we are seven years out from the next one most likely), I do not mind paying for it full price. This is my fav game series OAT, and I definitely enjoyed TOTK more than BOTW. Even if they don’t place within my S-Tier ranking for the series.
@@aquagiraffe1988I made it to the Queen Gibdo arena with ascend on accident. Wish it activated the fight anyway since I don't like the temple at all and the fact the elevator lets me down when I step on it felt...strange? Like we're trying to power the thing up. Why is it working just to let me down? XD
The Arabic chanting in the Fire Temple did make it to print, it was just discontinued after revision 1.1 of the N64 version. The Gerudo Symbol also used to resemble the Crescent moon and star symbol that some Arabic Nations use as a flag.
@@paperluigi6132 For NTSC territories, 1.2. But there are still some further changes for people with photosensitivity issues. For example, the fire effects in the Deku Tree's Ganondorf cutscene have had their brightness toned down significantly.
I'll be honest, I kinda prefer it without the chanting. I think it made the music a bit too bloated. The music in the dungeons is usually rather reserved so the edited version fits really well.
Almost didn’t notice that this guy don’t got that many followers cuz he low key sounded like he knew what he was doing, he def becoming famous in the future and I’ll be proud to have followed from the beginning🙏🙏
Skyward sword is amazing! An incredibly overhated game. One of my favorite dungeon rosters in the entire franchise actually. I’m working on a new video right now so be on the lookout!
@@Ryan64ytI agree Skyward Sword imo is one of the best Zelda games, I love the swordplay, item use, bosses, puzzles, dungeons, world as a dungeon, etc. I love the Metroidvania feel to it as well. My unpopular opinion is that I feel it’s a much better game than BOTW or even TP.
Feel like twilight princess wasn’t given the credit it deserves. I never thought the water temple was that that bad but I’d say every temple is atleast in the upper half (besides twilight realm)
I’m surprised to find out that people despise Great Bay Temple, it’s genuinely one of my favorite video game levels of all time personally 😂. It’s really challenging but super rewarding to understand how the gimmick of the flowing water works, the mini bosses are amazing, and the atmosphere is super unique. To be fair I played the N64 version, where swimming is actually fun and Gyorg was much less tedious to fight
My main hatred for the temple is honestly from my childhood experience (on the 3ds version). I guarantee you if I played the n64 version before I would’ve put the dungeon way higher, but that’s all hypothetical for now. I’m sure I’ll like the temple way more when I replay MM 64
@@Ryan64ytMM3D is genuinely terrible. I couldnt tell you one good change except song of double time. Doing anju Kafei is so much better when you can actively change the time to whenever you want
@@Beans-do6wcthis is hilarious because I played through half of MM64 and found the only thing that I genuinely preferred (besides the graphic upgrade) was the song of double time being so much better. Don’t know how Nintendo managed to mess it up so badly tho….
@@Ryan64yt Ah see, that would definitely do it - the 3D remake's massive nerf to Zora Link's underwater movement tanks the Great Bay Temple experience for me, too. It's an odd case to be sure...my guess would be that modern QA testing identified the 'issues' which were for whatever reason massively overcorrected by the dev team. "Zora swimming needs to be more controllable, and boss fights have little too vague mechanics/win conditions? Okay lets just quickly patch the Zora issue, and hey, let's use the boss complaint as our mandate to completely reinvent the boss fights, should be fun :)"
@@themimsy lakebed is saved by its verticality. while very symmetrical the central room is unique and there is a decent amount of interconnectivity which is why i rank it in my top 3 TP dungeons. temple of time i have as number 1.
I feel like the Great Deku Tree got snubbed on this list. The music, the mechanic of reaching the top just to jump all the way through the spider web below, the burning of spiderwebs and the puzzle of staying on dry ground or shallow water to reach said spiderwebs, and the fact it does all of these as the first ever 3D Zelda dungeon... All of this adds up to make it a fun and incredibly iconic dungeon
Skyward sword is such a great Zelda game it’s by far my fav too bad people trash on it cause of the motion controls they’re really missing out My fav dungeon is the Sandship but forest temple holds a socials place in my heart as oot was my first ever game in the series
The controls weren't that bad, but the original WiiMotion+ or whatever it was called would often break or desync and as a kid it would render the game unplayable. I always imagined that's what people were talking about.
Water temple slander is absolutely deserved, I’m a big defender of the Totk dungeons, but the water temple is just rly bad, there’s nothing else to it 💀
@@Ryan64yt honestly if they were all on par with the lightning temple, I think I could’ve said that Totk as a whole has great dungeons , sure they’re not fully traditional Zelda dungeons, but I get that’s it’s hard to make that work in open worlds, so honestly the dungeon hate in this game isn’t deserved for that quality that we got. (They just should’ve blocked off climbing walls and disabled bringing your own zonai devices to prevent cheese)
And what’s sad to me is that the temple has a lot going for it imo. The concept of a fountain in the sky, fun gameplay with low gravity and water bubbles. The music is really beautiful and I love the vistas you can get up there. But it’s just so short and easy. Had they actually challenged you and made you spend more time up there it could’ve gone up a lot in my personal rankings lol.
If you guys want to see more videos from me, make sure to subscribe and turn on notifications, I’ve got a brand new video coming out next week so be on the lookout!
Nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks TOTK's water temple should've been underground where the Ancient Zora Waterworks were. We already had a sky dungeon with the wind temple, a surface dungeon with the lightning temple, and a depths dungeon with the fire temple; it only makes sense for the remaining dungeon to be set in the caves, which were the other main addition to the TOTK map apart from the sky islands and the depths
This was an astounding video, very well done, however the mention about only playing majora's mask 3d without mods to make it play like the n64 version... I'm so sorry you had a worse experience, I'd say try to mod 3D or get the Majora's Mask HD project via Nerral's videos about his production of it, I assure you it's worth it!
Do you ever think about how Ganondorf infested Lord Jabu Jabu with a stomach virus? I wonder if G dog came in Jabus tummy and since he’s a baddie his evil seed started tearing his body apart, not sure if canon
The Temple of Time dungeon in TP is easily one of my favorite dungeons in the series. The first time I stepped through the time portal and heard the iconic temple of time music being reused was easily one of the coolest moments of that game and super nostalgic to die hard OoT fans like me. Also liked the idea that you are exploring a dungeon that you can only visit in the past, which is basically a giant reference to OoT and possibly even a subtle tie-in. The way this dungeon is built would suggest that this could've been part of the scrapped Temple of Light dungeon that was supposed to be in OoT and was going to be how you would get the Light medallion. There are even Light Medallion symbols all over the dungeon and the dungeon is also pretty well lit and bright compared to the average dungeon.
I was surprised about the quality of this video from someone who has under 100 subscribers. Although I do not agree with most rankings (Except for the top 10, which was really accurate to my top 10), the list was really entertaining and it made me laugh a few times. I hope you will make more zelda content like this!!
Haha a few people have said the top 10 was quite accurate to theirs. I’m glad I could make you laugh! That was my goal. Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m making a new video right now so be on the lookout for that!
I straight up thought you were a huge youtuber from how high quality this video was dude, to find out this is your first vid + that you only have a bit over 300 subs was insaneeee
As a Twilight Princess truther, the Snowpeak Ruins not being number 1 is gonna make me combust. But all jokes aside, why wasn't the Hyrule Castle included? That would've been a notable entry for multiple different games, especially BotW and TP. It would've given BotW an actual dungeon that may even have been ranked pretty highly. Although, as a Twilight Princess truther, I am mainly concerned about that version of the Hyrule Castle, as, imo, it is the second best dungeon in that game because of arguably both the best mini-boss (Bulbin King) and the best final boss fights (Beast Ganon/Ganondorf/Possessed Zelda) in the entire series.
@@samuelhiatt9338 the boss' design was horrible (the fight was meh but I hate the design), the whole idea of running around and getting soup ingredients was dumb, and I hate the fact that they tell you exactly where to go, which makes the dungeon feel very linear.
Dungeons like Water Teample from OoT often get hated for some of the reasons why I love it. That sense of being lost and confused is exactly how a dungeon should feel. It doesn't quite nail the isolated feel that Shadow or Forest temples (OoT) have, but it does nail the sense of confusion and lack of direction is to me a good thing, I want to work it out, not be following an obvious waypoint. The main issue was having to unequip/equip iron boots often and it being tedious, but that is an item slot/UI issue and not specifically a dungeon issue. It also has probably the best mini boss fight
As I’ve mentioned, playing ocarina of time 3d is so much better for that reason alone. The apart from the repetitive equipping aspect the dungeon is actually really great, definitely an overhated dungeon.
@@kaizoisevil people also don’t like the back tracking in the dungeon. I hated it, but not because I hate the concept of backtracking, it was because I had to use the iron boots again (I played the n64 version lol). And yeah the key at the bottom of the tower was god awful, but the key that pissed me off the most was the one behind the Longshot chest. I don’t know why people don’t talk about that key as much , but I’m glad that both keys were changed in the 3ds version
@@Sticker_By_NCT_127 Well, I believe backtracking is common in Zelda dungeons. You get a certain item or activate a certain thing and then have to go back to a previous room to take advantage of it. As for the key behind the longshot chest, I am not sure which one you are referring to. Is it the one where you shoot the eye, then longshot? Funny enough, as long as the longshot gets to the chest before the gate closes, you're good. You'll even clip through the gate.
@@kaizoisevil no no no I’m talking about the room with the chest that GIVES you the Longshot, right after the Dark Link fight. Behind the chest is a Song of Time block, but unlike the 3ds version, the block in the N64 does not poke out of the ground, making it hard to see. Maybe it was obvious for some people, but I went backwards through the Dark Link room and back inside the main room to search for a key because I didn’t see the block in the room. That was the point during my play through when I said to myself “Fcck it, I’m using a guide”
I really enjoyed your ranking but I don’t agree with the placements of BotW and TotK. Personally I think they can’t even be compared to most of the older dungeons due to how bad they are. On top of that I find them really really ugly. For me all of them combined couldn’t even reach the atmosphere or the feeling even one of the other dungeons achieve. I’m not hating, it’s just how I see it. Different opinions is what makes rankings like these fun to watch. Great video.
33:00 maybe they planned on using the mechanic again in the scrapped dungeon. I’m not too sure if it’s true but I heard it should’ve been water themed.
Thanks so much for the sub! I’m definitely planning on making more videos don’t worry, I’m gonna make a poll for the next video topic so make sure to vote for that!
No mention of the stone tower temple music :O it is literally the most brilliant piece of music in the entire series, not only comprised of the instruments and music from previous dungeons but when you flip the dungeon it flips the tune. Absolute masterpiece.
Great job with this ranking! The Forest Temple will always be the goat of dungeons for me mainly for the music and the phantom ganon fight. Its so iconic honestly crazy how it still holds up on top after 26+ years after the games release. Also, we are definately going to need a boss ranking video of all 3D zeldas now lol
I 100% agree, the forest temple is always my no brainer pick for number 1. A Boss ranking video is definitely on the list, though it would take a very long time to make im up for the challenge!
-I don't think inside Jabu-Jabu is bad, not the greatest but not bad. I think the idea is so cool, 12 yo me loved the idea of a dungeon inside a giant fish + I had played WW before OoT so I knew Jabu-Jabu before so it added to the moment. The part where I don't like it is the atmosphere of it, the visual, effects on the walls, the sound design...it comes off as unsettling and I hated it when I was 12yo. -Forsaken Fortress being at the start of the game, after a very long intro on the island, halved the number of times I've replayed WW to be fair -Botw divine beasts are so lame, the huge flaw to it. While Totk dungeons aren't the greatest due to how special abilities are given at the start, they are close to the original experience and that alone puts this game way ahead its predecessor -I have played Skyward only once, but I remember loving so much the Mining facility that I want to replay it just for this dungeon !
@@Ryan64yti agree. i was shocked to see you only have 600 subscribers because based on the quality of the video i assumed you had a couple thousand. you earned yourself another subscriber
"The mech drains your battery too quickly" yeah that's gonna happen when you have 1 battery... Great video tho Also you know a series is good when even the worst few dungeons are still pretty fun
Good video but i get the feeling if you played the og version of Majoras Mask the ranking would be different because the 3d edition makes way too many unnecessary changes like the boss fights being all dumbed down. Also I subbed, hope to see more great content.
Thanks for the sub! I recently played MM 64 up until right before great bay (where I stopped and haven’t picked it back up). So me rankings on snowhead and Woodall are relatively set in stone (though you could argue both higher and lower as I love all the dungeons in that area of the list). But I’ve heard a ton of people say that great bay is way better on the n64 version, so I’ll have to give it a try! Thanks for the sub! I’m currently making a new video so be on the lookout for that!
The chants are actually in the first version of the us and Japanese cartridges of Ocarina of Time. It might be because the fire dungeon is one of my least favorite in the series, but I actually think the chant gets really really repetitive after awhile.
I’ve never actually played the fire temple on n64, or on the old Japanese or us cartridges, so I haven’t had to listen to it for a long period of time. But I can definitely see where you’re coming from.
@Ryan64yt I got version 1.0 of the game & played on N64. I did hear chanting while at the fire temple. I prefer the chanting since the music used in later versions sound similar to Shadow Temple’s music.
Brother i have no idea where youre getting so much love for SS earth temple. That shit takes like 10 minutes once you know where the bombable walls are. And you put great bay, lake bed, and city in the sky a mile below that? Subjective nothing, you are backwards
I just can't believe this is your first video. I didn't checked and thought you were a professional Zelda RUclipsr. Really, it is a great video man (even I hate many if your opinions haha)
The dungeons of TotK were very disappointing. Water temple is a set of giant faucets in the sky, a boat for the wind temple, 4 mini-escort missions for spirit temple, and railcarts which can be skipped via climbing for the fire temple. The lightning temple was the best amongst the 4 and imo was slightly above average compared to normal zelda dungeons.
I listened to half this video, then noticed the low viewer and subscriber count, then noticed this is the 1st video. My dude major props on that, i subscribed and am excited to see what other videos you make.
Thank you so mic for the sub! I really appreciate the kind words it means a lot, I’m gonna make a poll for the next video topic so make sure to vote for that!
Why did you not include the shrine of resurrection divine beast and the Monk Maz Koshia boss fight? And if you would have where would it have been ranked?
My only disagreement on this list would be the placement of the Great Bay Temple. I do agree that the 3ds version absolutely blows, and ruins the vibe. I also agree that Gyorg, 3ds or n64 isn't fun. That aside, if you've yet to go through it on the n64 I recommend giving it another chance with a clean slate on expectations. The super industrial vibe is incredibly unique for a water level imo, and the Zora swimming in the n64 version really allows you to appreciate the redirection of the currents when swimming through the tunnels is actually fun. The other big plus is getting to use ice arrows to freeze any point on the surface of the water instead of specific glowing spots makes it feel more engaging and creative. It isnt my favorite dungeon in the franchise, but it is really high up there for me. Great video! Hope to see more from you!
Thank you so much! Funny enough, I stopped playing MM 64 right before great bay, so I have never played beyond that point. I’ll definitely have to give it a try. I’ve heard from a lot of people that the 3ds version is incredibly different.
great criteria but i disagree on most of the stuff you dislike because of the slowness. for example, i dont think itd make sense for link to be faster in the magnet roofs in the goron mines. still, though, great video. I also like how youre not biased towards SS (my favorite entry of the franchise). everyone seems to hate it just because of the controllers but it has easily the greatest content quality in the saga. Shame it had to be dragged down by a couple of mistakes
Thanks for the comment! I actually agree with you. It wouldn’t make sense if you walked quickly the magnetic floors, but it still can be really lame and drag even if it is logical. I actually love skyward sword so much, incredibly overhated game. The motion controls actually quite good in my opinion.I try my absolute best to exclude bias from my opinions, but I honestly love all the Zelda games that it’s hard for me to find bias against any of them.
@@Ryan64yt 100%. Every 3d Zelda game is a blast (though the last 2 entries have been by far the worst (in comparison, still amazing games and possibly the best games of all time in terms of mechanics)). i do got to say that i did enjoy the magnet puzzles a lot, but maybe its nostalgia glasses or something, idk. Looking forward to your next video man
@@Ryan64yt also, i find it to be that the people disliking the SS controllers were actually flailing them around expecting them to work by themselves instead of just doing the inputs cleanly. I get that theyre not the best, but i did enjoy them once i got used to them. i dont get what was so wrong with them.
Definitely agree with TOTK and botw being the worst of the bunch in terms of Zelda games. I thought the magnet puzzles were quite good just really slow unfortunately. I’m working on a new video right now so keep an eye out for that one!
More people need to agree with what you’re saying. I agree with you completely, though glitchy and slightly Inconsistent, the motion controls are a lot of fun and add an extra layer of thought when playing the game. I also liked how a lot of the bosses relied on motion controls and accurate swings, felt really satisfying.
I love SO MUCH the Ancient Cistern! Not only I love the design and music, but the lore behind it and the final boss! I might not agree with your top but that one really deserves to be up there
One thing about BotW is that it was basicly forced to have it's dungeons be how they were. BotW's all about doing what you want when you want, I've heard it's like a lemon. Your path is very narrow at the 2 ends, but the path in the middle is HUUUGE! If it had traditional dungeons it wouldn't fit i because everything else has multiple ways to do things. Shrines, the Great Plateau, the order you go to the Divine Beasts , IF you do the Divine Beasts. One set path through a dungeon wouldn't fit into BotW's formula at all. Honestly I feel like either way people would complain about them, one way they complain they don't fit the other they complain they aren't traditional dungeons.
I just straight-up don't think that's true. All games alternate between open and linear to some extent, regardless of their overall place on the spectrum. It's not "either, or". It wouldn't be that jarring at all. If anything, it'd be a refreshing change of pace. In fact, people greatly exaggerate how much more open BotW is than previous games. Open world Zelda, but with traditional dungeons would effectively be the same game play loop as older titles, just on a larger scale.
@@landonhagan450 While past Zelda games were open world to some extent, BotW's entire formula is open world. There is nothing that you need to do in one specific way (besides maybe a few terminals but you can pick what order you do them in). Having the dungeons, one of the main and most memorable parts of your game not follow the formula and making them linear would water down the open world vibe it has going for it. The past dungeons are better I will not deny that much, but linear dungeons in BotW would not fit in the slightest. (Of course you do have the right to disagree and I respect that)
@@landonhagan450 I'm saying people wouldn't see the game as as open world it is now. The people I've seen complementing it's open world vibes often brought up how you can complete the terminals in the divine beasts in any order and in many ways. If they were linear then all you could say would be you can pick what divine beasts/main quests you do and in what order while also having 120 optional mini-dungeons (I imagine if dungeons were linear then shrines would too). Where as with the divine beasts you can sayyou can pick what divine beasts/main quests you do and in what order, decide what order you complete the terminals, how you complete those terminals, and 120 mini-dungeons most of which have several solutions. (Again though, I respect your opinion and say this to clear up any confusion)
Your video is great amazing editing and quality from such a small channel I thought you must have had hundreds of thousands of subscribers great work man keep it up
Just another video of same recycled lame opinions that say that new Zelda equals bad. Weird for somebody who’s first play through of Majoras Mask was the 3D version and your most recent gameplay was Twilight Princess(???
Yet you clicked on the video all the same…😭 I put a TOTK dungeon at 11… yes, I played MM 3Ds as my first time playing the game when I was like 12. My most recently played Zelda game was twilight princess (replay). I don’t see how this is confusing to you?
The new Zelda dungeons pale in comparison though. Except the lightning temple. It’s perfectly fine to hate on the new games when they fail to do things that made previous games great.
I’m surprised more twilight princess temples weren’t lower. I guess I just replayed the game so many times that I noticed a lot of the issues it has although some of it might just be because we only owned the Wii version growing up
@@Ryan64yt a lot of flaws with the game for me isn’t actually the opening sequence but certain sections you have to slog through. Like the ride through hyrule field with Telma, the iron boots section of the game because you move so slowly in a game that feels so much faster or the quest to get the red herring scent that I always forget how to do. The midna’s lament constantly being cut off by enemy encounters.
Honestly the great bay temple is my favorite Zelda dungeon ever I love Gatorade and also the difficulty and confusion it gives me. Anyway can’t wait to see more videos on this channel I love this guy so much already.
you earned the like and sub for the water temple love! Granted didn't like how low great bay was but someone who actually recognizes that the water temple is a good dungeon (and my personal favorite in OoT) is rare!

What an excellent video!! Instant subscriber and can't wait to watch more videos. Will check the others out this weekend. This list is honestly so close to what mine would look like. Your top 4 dungeons are my exact top 4 (5th being Arbiters Grounds). As much as I love the Spirit Temple, Sandship and Snowpeak Ruins, I have to agree nothing can top the Forest Temple in OoT. Still to this day I look forward to replaying the dungeon so much each playthrough and still to this day do I feel uneasy and probably need the lights on when playing it haha. The atmosphere and music..... creepy as anything but absolutely brilliant. Great list mate keep up the great work!
Yeah, I’m one of the very few people that love the water temple in ocarina of time. I don’t know. I just find it fun and every play through since my first play through ocarina of time I always do the water temple as the first adult link dungeon
Great video for your first. Only complaint: no sections for the video. One of the best things RUclips ever did; but I feel so many youtubers don't take advantage of it; especially for lists/rankings.
Just try to release the best possible content you can (quality wise), I spent nearly a month working on this video. And another part of it is luck, I got incredibly lucky with all of the support I’m getting so I’m very fortunate. I know you can do it just keep working hard, that’s the most important thing to do :)

I see this is also your first upload, and I loved the video! We clearly share the same humor so this was incredibly entertaining. Can’t wait for the next one. 🫶🏻

"Lets take a break from the creepy dungeons and show one thats the opposite" proceeds to show a dungeon with a creepy underworld with undead bokoblins
I mean I was kinda not lying?…
Yeah...I think Ryan64 is a little bias towards the "creepy" dungeons.
(And as a kid I was too stupid for the boss)
12: TP Lakebed Temple - I guess I dont need to say anything, everything I can say was already said in this video.
11: TP Temple of Time - I hated it so much walking the whole dungeon up, just to go down again.
10: TP City in the Sky - I liked the lost village before this dungeon, but as far as I can remember, everything that flew there annoyed me (Already a few years in the past, since I played my first time this game)
9: TP Palace of Twilight - It was good for the lore, but the whole shadow thing wasnt good for me.
Idk why I said unreleased, I knew that lmao. Deemed offensive and the no religion policy was meant to be the same thing in my words
@@Ryan64yt yeah no bother, if I made a video like this I’d have made way more mistakes (and it wouldn’t be anywhere near as engaging)
I was playing OOT forest temple as watching this
A list I actually have quite a few ‘issues’ with…Lakebed temple is great and one of the best in the series and I will die on this hill!
Absolutely, especially for the time like imagine how insane that was in the 90s
@@Ryan64yt It was pretty trippy let me tell you
Yeah, the *only* thing I hated about forest temple were the walmasters whose shadow would appear over your head, and if you didn’t move within a few second would pick you up and drop you all the way at the beginning of the dungeon.
Same here, I’m really hoping Nintendo will leave the style from those 2 games alone and go back to the traditional ways
@@WeeG-bwc77 considering how i recently paid $40 for shadow of the erdtree, this isn’t as egregious as you’d think lol
Considering the frequency of releases in this series (we are seven years out from the next one most likely), I do not mind paying for it full price. This is my fav game series OAT, and I definitely enjoyed TOTK more than BOTW. Even if they don’t place within my S-Tier ranking for the series.
Glad to see the love for the Lightning Temple. Not just a great open-world dungeon, but just a great Zelda dungeon.
Exactly, I loved the dungeon a ton. I don’t see a bunch of other people giving it the credit it deserves so I figured I needed to lol
I accidently skipped most of it by passing through a ceiling in the first hallway. Never saw the full thing and was super underwhelmed
Which version is the one used in NSO?
@@paperluigi6132 For NTSC territories, 1.2. But there are still some further changes for people with photosensitivity issues. For example, the fire effects in the Deku Tree's Ganondorf cutscene have had their brightness toned down significantly.
It's funny to me because the version I own has the Arabic chanting, so I always took them for granted lol
I'll be honest, I kinda prefer it without the chanting. I think it made the music a bit too bloated. The music in the dungeons is usually rather reserved so the edited version fits really well.
my copy has the crescent moon, but I don’t recall if it had the chanting or not 🤔
There is absolutely no way you put ANY of the BOTW and TOTK """""dungeons"""" above the other games

Great video! I was so shocked when I saw you only had 40 views. This deserves so much more attention that it has!
Thank you so much! It’s my first video so I’m greatful to even get 40 views in the first place!
Personally I loved both variants
Twilight water temple was just advance to one room, pull a lever, go back to the last room.
Still fun to me figurin out the puzzles
@@themimsy lakebed is saved by its verticality. while very symmetrical the central room is unique and there is a decent amount of interconnectivity which is why i rank it in my top 3 TP dungeons. temple of time i have as number 1.
Vibes are immaculate, tho
I feel like the Great Deku Tree got snubbed on this list. The music, the mechanic of reaching the top just to jump all the way through the spider web below, the burning of spiderwebs and the puzzle of staying on dry ground or shallow water to reach said spiderwebs, and the fact it does all of these as the first ever 3D Zelda dungeon... All of this adds up to make it a fun and incredibly iconic dungeon
Agreed! It’s under-appreciated how many novel elements are present in the Great Deku Tree in spite of its smaller size
Skyward sword is such a great Zelda game it’s by far my fav too bad people trash on it cause of the motion controls they’re really missing out
My fav dungeon is the Sandship but forest temple holds a socials place in my heart as oot was my first ever game in the series
I agree, the motion controls aren’t even that bad at all, people just nitpick
The controls weren't that bad, but the original WiiMotion+ or whatever it was called would often break or desync and as a kid it would render the game unplayable. I always imagined that's what people were talking about.
The motion controls were horrendous, but it was a good game. Still leaps and bounds above BotW and TotK
13:31 this took me outtt dude 💀 really great first vid, definitely looking forward to your next upload!
Thanks man I really appreciate it! Glad I could make you laugh :)
Water temple slander is absolutely deserved, I’m a big defender of the Totk dungeons, but the water temple is just rly bad, there’s nothing else to it 💀
I agree I actually liked TOTK more then most but that dungeon was horrible in comparison
Hmmm
And what’s sad to me is that the temple has a lot going for it imo. The concept of a fountain in the sky, fun gameplay with low gravity and water bubbles. The music is really beautiful and I love the vistas you can get up there. But it’s just so short and easy. Had they actually challenged you and made you spend more time up there it could’ve gone up a lot in my personal rankings lol.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks TOTK's water temple should've been underground where the Ancient Zora Waterworks were. Great Deku Tree is so iconic. It has so much atmosphere. For the first 3D Zelda, its an almost perfect starter dungeon.
Maybe so he can do a video about the best versions of Hyrule Castle. That would be pretty cool, imo
Snowpeak ruins is like my least favorite in that game. The only things I like about it are the atmosphere, music, and the cannon puzzles
@@jacob_sieger so the whole dungeon?
@@samuelhiatt9338 the boss' design was horrible (the fight was meh but I hate the design), the whole idea of running around and getting soup ingredients was dumb, and I hate the fact that they tell you exactly where to go, which makes the dungeon feel very linear.
@@samuelhiatt9338 I don't really hate the dungeon, but I just don't understand the hype at all
Forest Temple is my favourite dungeon of all time. Atmosphere, Boss, Design and music everything about that is definition of Excellence.
@@Ryan64yt I think it's overhated due to one specific key at the bottom of the tower.

-Forsaken Fortress being at the start of the game, after a very long intro on the island, halved the number of times I've replayed WW to be fair
-Botw divine beasts are so lame, the huge flaw to it. While Totk dungeons aren't the greatest due to how special abilities are given at the start, they are close to the original experience and that alone puts this game way ahead its predecessor
-I have played Skyward only once, but I remember loving so much the Mining facility that I want to replay it just for this dungeon !

I think his point was that mineru is worthless late game and if you get her early you won’t have enough battery.
The song of the Forest Temple is simply AMAZING 🛐🛐🛐
I absolutely adore the lightning temple from totk. Nintendo needs to make all open air Zelda dungeons like the lightning temple.
Same here! Really hoping they do

I personally loved the lightning temple but I do agree the dungeons were a step up from BOTW but overall quite disappointing

Why did you not include the shrine of resurrection divine beast and the Monk Maz Koshia boss fight? And if you would have where would it have been ranked?
because it’s DLC and I’ve never played it before :/ so I have no clue where it would rank

Skyward sword has easily the best dungeons, then twilight, then ocarina (what i didnt like about ocarina was using guides every second)
I don’t disagree with this whatsoever. At least using guides is optional. Though I am guilty of needing guides for some Zelda games
great criteria but i disagree on most of the stuff you dislike because of the slowness. for example, i dont think itd make sense for link to be faster in the magnet roofs in the goron mines. still, though, great video.
I agree, traditional dungeons wouldn’t fit the big idea of the game, but unfortunately the dungeons are still not very good
I just straight-up don't think that's true.
(Of course you do have the right to disagree and I respect that)
@@RaidFiftyOne It wouldn’t water it down at all, that’s not how game design works.
(Again though, I respect your opinion and say this to clear up any confusion)
i actually HATE skyview temple. i get lost all the time, even after playing ss multiple times. really really hate
It was never a favorite of mine but I never hated it that much
Skyview Temple form Skyward Sword is way better than all Totk „Dungeons“
Disagree but it is better then most
my cousin had the first release of OoT and that original theme Fire Temple soundtrack will forever be scorched into my psyche
Your video is great amazing editing and quality from such a small channel I thought you must have had hundreds of thousands of subscribers great work man keep it up
Thanks I really appreciate it!
I hate the brain dead 5 switch system in botw and totk
Sky keep is a top 15 dungeon it’s a shame it isn’t included but I understand your reasoning
I definitely agree with you, I’m going to do a final dungeon ranking video separately in the future
Honestly, botw really should have just stuck with normal dungeons. The divine beasts are pretty bad lol
Agreed…
“the real dungeons come from the 3D titles”
tell me you never finished alttp’s ice palace without telling me.
That’s definitely one of the dungeons ever
@@Ryan64yt Blue mail with the yellow hat- coolest Zelda armor bc of aesthetic.
dungeon its locked behind- absolutely the worst one
🤣
totk lightning temple is way too high imo lol, like it's fine but so short and easy lmao
Lightning temple that high could possibly be a bias pick since it felt so much better compared to the others in the same game
I guess I just replayed the game so many times that I noticed a lot of the issues it has although some of it might just be because we only owned the Wii version growing up
I think it’s one of the better rosters in the series. Not all are perfect but a lot are at least good
@@Ryan64yt a lot of flaws with the game for me isn’t actually the opening sequence but certain sections you have to slog through. Like the ride through hyrule field with Telma, the iron boots section of the game because you move so slowly in a game that feels so much faster or the quest to get the red herring scent that I always forget how to do. The midna’s lament constantly being cut off by enemy encounters.
What was the answer on jeopardy?
Honestly the great bay temple is my favorite Zelda dungeon ever I love Gatorade and also the difficulty and confusion it gives me. Anyway can’t wait to see more videos on this channel I love this guy so much already.
you earned the like and sub for the water temple love!
Granted didn't like how low great bay was but someone who actually recognizes that the water temple is a good dungeon (and my personal favorite in OoT) is rare!
I’ve been getting a ton of comments agreeing with my water temple opinion, I thought that one would’ve brought the angry mob but I guess not! Thanks for the sub, it really means a lot :)
I'm a Jabu Jabu enjoyer. It's hands down my favorite young link dungeon. But no judgement for the hate
Im definitely way over harsh on it because of how I hated it as a kid…
@@Ryan64yt as I kid I liked it because it was gross
I didn't expect such a good quality when I looked at your sub count.
Really good video!
Thank you so much!
You should have included the hyrule castle from totk
It’s not a dungeon.
13:31 Jumpscare warning
Man played mm on 3ds not N64.
Opinion not valid
Sorry founding father 🙏
“Ocarina of time is my favorite game of all time” a man of taste
Hell yeah 🔥🙏
Thanks for the sub I really appreciate it!
Yeah, I’m one of the very few people that love the water temple in ocarina of time. I don’t know. I just find it fun and every play through since my first play through ocarina of time I always do the water temple as the first adult link dungeon
Absolutely valid opinion. I like it more than most aswell!
Great video for your first. Only complaint: no sections for the video. One of the best things RUclips ever did; but I feel so many youtubers don't take advantage of it; especially for lists/rankings.
I had completely forgotten that was a thing, I’ll try and add them in later today, thanks for the idea!
Love the vids and I'm surprised on how fast you grew and I wish I grew as fast as you did❤❤(have any advice???????)
Just try to release the best possible content you can (quality wise), I spent nearly a month working on this video. And another part of it is luck, I got incredibly lucky with all of the support I’m getting so I’m very fortunate. I know you can do it just keep working hard, that’s the most important thing to do :)
I swear Nintendo needs to port twilight princess and wind waker for the switch man
I was really hoping for that announcement yesterday during the direct. hopefully for switch 2🤞
@@Ryan64yt same dude but maybe the next one will and at least we will get a new Zelda game though including other games to for this year and next year to
@kristinapoulter1902 I’m really looking forward to that new game, as great as ports are you can always play them on the original consoles aswell (technically TP and WW you can play on 3 different consoles)
@@Ryan64yt true
Really good video! If I were to recommend a video it would be ranking the Zelda stories if you want to do that. But congrats on 200 subs by the time of writing this!
Thank you so much! That’s a great video idea, I’m getting a ton of ideas for that video already. I’ll definitely try and cover that in the future :)
Great selections. Gives me nostalgic flashbacks when I did this so long ago on my own channel. Thanks for the memories.
Of course! Figured I’d share my memories so maybe others can relate
Oh yeah, you were the guy who didn't like the Ice Ruins in A Link Between Worlds because something something captions.
28:26 i hate to be that “☝️🤓 erm actually” guy, but this was actually a hoax. The chanting was not removed due to backlash- it was removed from 1.0 to 1.1 before the game even came out (i don’t recall why exactly, but i know for a fact it wasn’t due to backlash).
Based Water Temple placement!! Aside from the annoyances of N64 equipping it's genuinely a great dungeon & it's sooo satisfying to figure out
Istg I keep watching this man's video's, and I have some opinions about zelda which some find a bit meh, but I keep finding myself screaming 'Exactly!' When watching these videos. Keep it up man
Me the entire time: “Forest Temple #1. Forest Temple #1. It has to be.” It’s my all time favorite temple as well and our Top 10 is almost identical. I see this is also your first upload, and I loved the video! We clearly share the same humor so this was incredibly entertaining. Can’t wait for the next one. 🫶🏻
Really glad you enjoyed the video! I’ve had a ton of comments saying that their top 10 is very similar so I guess we just all have great taste 🤷♂️
Very good video! This rivals many of the larger RUclipsrs out there in terms of both quality and writing
Thank you so much I really appreciate it!
@@Ryan64yt definitely earned the subscribers you’re gonna get
Great list.. never knew there was someone else out there who also loved both zelda and hockey.. i caught those little makar and kraken references btw lol
very great video good editing good cutting good sound vibe of ur voice. got my follow keep it up im lookin forward to new vids of urs
Thanks man I really appreciate it!
