Hey! If you did not figured out yet, you can use Clip tool and slice down a big brush(shape). If Clip tool deleting the other part of the brush press Ctrl + Enter(two times) before accepting the slicing. The result is the same but you dont do the dragging and stuff

Ctrl+Click Drag when the brush is selected
how about creating cracks with lava poking up or a cave wall that is concave?. Very useful tutorial!.
