    Good teaching.
Husbands have authority over their wives, but they need to lead by serving, by preferring the wellbeing of their wives to their own wellbeing.
Christian leadership is so radically different from the world's style of leadership, in which leaders use their authority to get things for themselves.
For Christians, leadership is about using authority to increase the wellbeing of those who are under that authority.

Great sermon by RC. Our earthly Justice is just the foreshadowing of our Heavenly Righteous and Just God!

@@rhondae8222 please forgive me for my post. I was shamefully unaware that I was required to run it by YOU first.
I've noticed how you have corrected everyone on this thread.
Apparently we have fallen short of the Glory of God, according to YOU!

Jesus is the head of the Church as She is the bride that follows Her Husbands guidance. So must Husbands guide their wives to holiness.

The Bible is very clear that Christians need to obey the laws of the land (or nations) that we live in. Romans 13:1-7 teaches us to be subject to the authorities. Believers are to be the most honest and caring part of society. The love of Christ permeates us so that we can be the salt and the light to our society.

When it comes to life and death issues within the church. In this case, a woman, possibly with little ones, in the hands of man who does them harm and refuses to submit to the church's leadership and guidance; in those cases of life and death, it is best to hand over the man to the government authorities to deal with him. For the man refuses to change and the life of the woman and children is at stake. One can still reach out to the man in prison, but one cannot afford to have the man free to continue beat and harm his own family.
This would be a way of chruch discipline in a way that a man refuses to submit to what God has to say in regards to marriage and their roles.
Carefully study these types of Scriptures where church discipline appears and the when of handing over a "believer" to the state. I put it in quotes because situations varies and we cannot be sure if the person doing the harm it's truly a believer. But what they show it does not seem to be the case. Think it carefully.
My conclusion here is that if it is a life or death situation, then it is time to let the government authorities to take over. There are things that the chruhc can do. But when it comes to crime and abuse that's the government authorities, which are God's grace on a lost humanity for the well being of all.
I trust that the Lord will help you understand.

Not trying to be difficult. However do simply become as Paul, or Silas, or as Peter, or even as Our beloved brother Rc Sproul. I watch LIGONIER all the time and it has blessed me with the Theology of scripture it presents. But. At the same time I see a presentation of how we are to present this truth, everyone seems to provide a reblica of RC.WHY THEN CANT YOU be your self. spirit. Pride. I'm not saying that what you are saying isn't true. The Heart is what is concerning.
