- *This was done on the OnePlus 7T Pro, but will work in a similar way for many devices
*Usual disclaimer - Use ROMs at your own risk, keep backups, I'm sorry if your device gets bricked*
We're now coming up to 5 years of the Oneplus 7 series, and the Oneplus 7Pro and 7TPro are still some of the best designed devices around.
While OnePlus may have given up on software updates, it's amazing to see that Android 14 ROMs are still possible!

Loved the side by side layout of the Terminal and the phone, very clean looking and easy to keep up!
Thanks, I really appreciate the feedback!
Always helpful when trying to make the format better
Really appreciate your video on the OnePlus 7 Pro.❤
Dude you're the best!! For keeping now getting old 7's!!
i have 7tpro mclaren but its not 5G what to download
Thanks for the video!
Quick question: since I'm still on the (old) FlamingoOS, is it mandatory to move to Oxygen 12 before flashing cDroid? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about performance and battery in the future :)
It might swap over okay, but the recommendation is to start on OOS12.
Mine was also on Flamingo and I just did an MSM reset and started from scratch
My oneplus 7pro got bricked after flashing recovery images to 'a' and 'b' and then rebooting in the recovery. Any help in how to unbrick it ?
thanks a lot men :D
This is a really well explained video. Thank you for the video.
When installing a custom ROM, what do you have to do about the SIM card? Does it get affected?
Thanks, I'm glad you found it helpful!
Shouldn't need any extra action for the SIM card - for the many ROMsI've tried, it's simply slot it in and go
Awesome video! Just one question: Does this ROM feature any play integity? I was very new to this topic when I tried to use a custom rom on my device just to find out that I can´t use any of my banking or payment apps.
No issues using Google Pay and my banking app on this one
I have a problem, typing in cmd fastboot oem unlock does not show the screen from 1:56. how to fix it to process ?
only < waiting for any device > appears in cmd
Did the fastboot devices command work?
Was OEM unlock enabled in settings?
@@FilthyCasualTech It seems to me , the fastboot device works. OEM has been unlocked on the phone. What could be the reason that I can't upload CrDroid?
I'm using OnePlus 7pro, most possible the Chinese verient. When I try to open bootloader it shows "can't unlock due to technical reasons" in cmd. I've tried everything but nothing seems to work. A little help would be appreciated!
Assume you're trying to unlock on Android 12?
Rollback to Android 11 > unlock > then upgrade to A12
i dont like that its base on oos12 with bad autonomy
I have an issue with the installation. Reached till the process of reboot recovery img file. It worked fine till there. But while installing the rom file the cmd prompt says that "cannot read ". How to fix this?
Odd when it's able to apply the recovery but not the rom
I would generally try again on a different PC, but would need more error info - might find better info on the XDA forums
hay @FilthyCasualTech should there be Yellow text error at start of boot up? Thanks
Thanks for easy tutorial
Assuming it's the Bootloader Unlocked warning, that's fine and expected
Nice video, i have 7TPro with pixel experience 12, can i just follow your guide and install crdroid10? my phone is alredy unlocked. thanks! should i follow all steps or just adb sideload?
Should be putting the recovery on too, but I expect you'll likely be able to start from Pixel Experience
I personally go back to Oxygen OS each time I try a different ROM though
@@FilthyCasualTech thanks for fast respond, Ok i roll back to oxygen12 with msmtool and then follow your guide! No bugs or problems with crdroid? You like it? 😀
I tried on my old oneplus6 first, and it's works perfect, now it's time for Op7tPro with new battery i just put in myself, thanks for the guide again.
Please do a video on OnePlus Nord 2
Android 14 based custom ROM
good one bro
Hi mate, you still using this ROM? I'm on stock android 12 , but i want to upgrade it ) what about performance and battery life? Thank you
I revisited this recently and it's still solid
I like it more than stock, but you do need to flash google apps which can be annoying
can you pls help me mine says installation failed pls helpppp
Couldn't find the recovery img file
Hello, I'm already on android 12 version GM1913_11_H.41. Do I need to flash the firmware again? Thanks
It doesn't hurt
No harm in doing it again, but having Android 12 means you should be good
I have a T-mobile Variant of OnePlus 7Pro running oxygen OS 11 and it's not going to update on 12. So can i still use your tutorial to update it ?
I believe you should be able to convert it to International software, and then go from there
Has been a while since I've checked the details, but XDA should have more info
Great video! I have a custom ROM based on Oxygen 11, how do I get back to Oxygen 12?
Assuming you don't have a weird OnePlus that doesn't get updates, resetting to stock with the MSM tool and then going through the usual update process should get you to OOS12 (it's what I did from my custom ROM)
My phone stuck at the fastboot menu after applying the recovery.img, it doesn't go to the recovery menu. Pleas Help
The 'fastboot reboot recovery' command don't work?
@@FilthyCasualTech it shuts the phone down, however it boots right back to fastboot
you are the best
i have a problem, with os12 can't oem unlock..why on your smartphon is possible?
You have to go back to 11 to unlock it you get this issue unfortunately
Hello bro how to get recovery .img
I'd love a quick walthrough of this rom!
Have used it for a while and will have a review in future
I have the Oneplus 7T Pro Mclaren Edition which is the 4G model for europe , if i install this custom rom should i choose the 5G Mclaren edition in their site?
Unfortunately I'm not sure if it would work or not, and have not been able to find confirmation.
The EU model is HD1913 and I can't see a distinction listed
@@FilthyCasualTech i will try the oneplus 7t pro one because its the same model hd1913 , is there any risk to brick my phone or am i okay to try it?
Great video, but sadly I get stuck when trying to unluck the bootloader. The response to "fastboot oem unlock" is: FAILED (remote: 'Device cannot be unlocked for technical reason.')
fastboot: error: Command failed.
Any solution to this? I am on One Plus 7 Pro. In some forums people talk about downgrading to android 11 to unlock, as it might be buggy with android 12. But I dont really wanna do that. Do you have any solutions?
Same goes for me to, I am also using 7pro
You mist downgrade to Android 11 to unlock the bootloader
Unfortunately many do appear to have issues unlocking the bootloader on OOS12
You'll need to jump back to OOS11 in this case
How to flash magisk
I guess it reduce the battery life, isn't it?
unable to find the recovery image in platform tool
help please !
Have to ensure you've put the files in the correct folders
my downloading not working not downloading rom and recovery help iam stuck
Any error?
Any other links working?
So if anyone has the OP7T Pro Mclaren Edition, and you are not able to boot into recovery after sideloading. You have to sideload copypartitions.zip before you sideload the ROM.
So the steps go
-Flash recovery.img to partitions a & b via fastboot.
-boot into recovery (fastboot reboot recovery)
-format the data
-abd sideload the copypartitions.zip (file found on XDA)
-abd sideload ROM (this is gonna crDroid in this case)
-abd sideload gapps,magisk,etc.. anything else comes after.
This should solve the problem of your partition not booting into recovery after sideloading the ROM and fix any boot issues. I was having trouble for a couple of days before I found this out so I hope this helps someone.
Hey i got OnePlus 7T Pro Mclaren Edition europe version which is 4g , in crdroid site there is only the 5G version which is USA model HD1925 , mine is HD1913 , which one should i choose?
@@RarePotatoHD you don't need to sideload. I have the same phone, so I just did without any problems.
@@huseyin8 u was asking about the rom in their site ,which one should i download Oneplus 7T Pro or OnePlus 7T Pro Mclaren Edition 5G
@@RarePotatoHD sorry Man, you should download 7t Pro version.
Some other guys mentiomed that 5G is American version and not only has 5G capabilities, but also has some other hardware differences.
@@huseyin8 okay thanks i will try it as soon as i get my OnePlus 7T Pro Mclaren Edition on april , is this rom fast and better on battery than t
Oxygen os 12 ?
Can I install it from yaap 13?wich one do you prefer ? Yaap or cr froid ?
Most likely okay, but I tend to reset back to stock first - then follow this process.
Hard to choose a favourite - crDroid has more features and customisations, but YAAP might perform better
@@FilthyCasualTech so MSM Tools and yapp14!!! tks
Can anyone help me please? I need a module for warp charging for OnePlus 7 pro I'm on crdroid 14.
As per this post - full speed charging with A12 firmware would require a different kernel
www.reddit.com/r/OnePlus7Pro/comments/152jb0i/should_be_pinned_android_12_firmware_for_this/
hi . what the way to install it on a One plus 7??
Process should be the same - just make sure you use the correct files
I just got the sprint version can I install custom rom with it? btw its oneplus 7 pro5g
I need to know too
Unfortunately not likely for crDroid
The OnePlus 7 Pro 5G counts as a different device, so you want ROMs made for 'guacamoles' (note the s on the end)
You could try looking into YAAP which supports this
can I install it over coloros 12 in OnePlus 7 Pro?
I believe that should work, but double check the forums for 100% confirmation
i have coloros 12 can i install crdrorid directly?
Believe it should work the same
Widewine and dolby?
Dolby yes, but only Widevine L3
@@FilthyCasualTech can't use without widewine
@@realdaakuu1843 I've got widevine L1, however there is a netflix spoofing option in the crdroid settings. The video is awesome, however the recommended install is to use the firmware flasher which installs the custom recovery and the latest 1911 firmware, even if you have a 1913/1917... not sure if that's why i kept L1. I came over from Havoc, then Flamingo, then PE 13. Its a good ROM with good customizations. People say battery life is better under the OOS11 firmware, my phone is 4+ years old, and the battery is hanging in there just fine. I'm not certain what better actually means anymore. I say go for it, but do yourself a favor and use the firmware tool and install. Its not mentioned in the video but this rom is Kernel SU is compatible so no need for flashing magisk. Just install the KSU manager apk,
its work 7 pro
Hey , can you pleas so one for Xiaomi Poco x3 pro.?
Unfortunately I don't have that device, but I do want to try a POCO one day
Please make video for OnePlus 7T as well.
Process will be identical other than the files you grab
The Widevine is L3
Yep, sadly
Does the front camera work?!?!
Yep, popup selfie cam works
@@FilthyCasualTech thanks for the info
does google wallet work on this rom?
Yep, have paid a few times without issue
ignore the error?
47%?
Correct - it's all good
@@FilthyCasualTech that was a mistake I made when flashing a Mi A2. Rookie mistake I guess.
Will my phone be safe after this?
As safe as any custom ROM I imagine?
Probably safer than stock though tbh, as the security is kept up to date
work on oneplus 11 5g?
I can see OnePlus 11 5G (salami) on the crDroid website, so it looks supported
@@FilthyCasualTech I will review it. Thank you
Okay, what are the benefits?
Will do a run through at some stage.
Number 1 feature would be an up to date device that OnePlus has since stopped supporting
Kernel SU compatible, just install the KSU manager apk. Lots of customizations. Latest firmware, security updates, regular updates...Gapps is your choice. Probably the easiest install of any custom rom since the firmware flasher tool has a downloadable script which updates firmware and recovery. This is my second favourite Rom for OP7pro after Havoc. You will need a good GCam, as the crdroid/LineageOS cam is pretty basic.
please do derpfest 14
It is on the list one day :)
