      @@FilthyCasualTech So i finally managed to go through the entire process and ran into a bunch of issues which i somehow managed to somehow solve. It was rather confusing since the links said that android 11 was discontinued so i went with the android 12 one that said stable, your video lists the .img file as 11 hotdog but the one from the link said guacamole. Biggest issue i ran into was that i had to access the command promp from the adb folder and not from the default user directory for the commands to work.
      Overall my experience was a little frustrating but i'm extremely happy with how it turned out. It's my first time flashing my phone so this new pixel experience is very exciting. Thank you!

    • @FilthyCasualTech
      @FilthyCasualTech  2 года назад +1

      Apologies for the confusion, as mines a 7TPro it's filenames is hotdog, where the 7Pro uses guacamole - only difference will be filename though.
      it looks like 12 is now official which makes things easier (11 was official when I flashed mine, but I should have checked - so I guess this video is out of date already)
      Again, sorry for the frustration - I will take it on board and try to make future guides clearer - really happy that you managed to work through it though, enjoy Pixel Experience!

    Hey man, Nice video!
    I have run into a problem tho.. I am at the part where I need to flash the ROM (4:22 in the vid) and I get this error message: adb: sideload connection failed: no devices/emulators found. adb devices also lists no devices. I have been looking for hours upon hours on forums but I just can't seem to find a solution. When using Oneplus drivers, fastboot devices still returns my device when in fastboot, but adb devices just never works, and when not in fastboot, fastboot devices also does not work. I hope you know what is wrong as I've tried all different drivers and none seem to work for my pc to recognice my device in adb.
    One last question, am I now unable to even load up the old oxygenos android? As in, is my phone now unusable? I need this phone, so in the worst scenario I would at least like to recover the old OS.
    I hope you can respond to me soon. Thanks!

    • @FilthyCasualTech
      @FilthyCasualTech  Год назад +1

      Seems odd to be able to get to that stage and then fail ADB
      If you've gotten to the recovery stage, you could always put the file onto the device and instead of 'Apply from ADB', select 'Apply Update'
      If you've messed things up and you want to return to OxygenOS, you can use the MSM Download tool - video here: ruclips.net/video/V4i7Dnflrsk/видео.html

      @@FilthyCasualTech Hey, thank you for replying so fast and thank you again for the clear video.
      It seemed to be some problem with either the Pixel Experience recovery or my PC's ADB drivers, as I was not able to see my device but only in the Pixel Experience recovery.
      What ended up working was flashing TWRP and sideloading the Pixel Experience ROM via there. Adb devices instantly recognized my device when in TWRP and I could sideload the ROM immediately.
      So anyways a very confusing issue. I'm curious if this is just a one-off on my device or if multiple people have this same problem. I could not find anyone with the same problem on any forum so I'm not really sure.

    • @MagerKonijn
      @MagerKonijn Год назад

      @@FilthyCasualTech I also have another question if you don't mind. The battery is draining pretty fast now on my phone, and "Pixel Launcher" has a very high battery usage when looking into the battery settings. I don't know if this is normal on the first day of installing this ROM, or if it is a problem with the ROM or my install. Before I flashed this ROM I was on OOS 11 with Android 11, and people online are saying you should be on OOS 12 before installing custom ROMs (which I didn't know and I don't think was specified on the Pixel Experience website). People are saying it is because I still need the OOS 12 firmware or something.
      So do you think this is normal and I should just wait and see what happens or do you think it is the firmware because I flashed from Android 11? And if it is the firmware can I still update this firmware even after installing the custom ROM?
      Kind regards

    • @FilthyCasualTech
      @FilthyCasualTech  Год назад +1

      Glad to hear you got it working - I haven't seen your first issue before, but it's always rather difficult when it comes to drivers and Windows.
      All Pixels tend to use more battery in the first week or two while they're working out your use, I wouldn't be too concerned with Pixel Experience doing the same unless things didn't change.
      The biggest reason I usually see to start from certain Android firmware is to stop it bricking while flashing, as long as it's installed I wouldn't worry too much.

    can you do a tutorial how to properly backup my oneplus 7 pro? by properly i mean backing up all my files, all my apps, all the app data, contacts, call history, device settings... and then how to restore the backup on the pixelexperience rom? thank you so much!

    • @FilthyCasualTech
      @FilthyCasualTech  2 года назад

      The difficulty in this is it can be painful depending on setup.
      Full backups can generally only be done rooted, but many apps can take advantage of cloud backups, so apps like Google One can back up most everything else easily enough.
      The bad part of this is if you have some older apps, but they don't have this cloud backup integrated, you're often out of luck (I have one app which I lose data each migration)

    Thanks for the tutorial! I am more concerned with the security patch updates for my current OP7 Pro since Oneplus dont promise security update anymore, will the pixel experience 12 change that?

    • @FilthyCasualTech
      @FilthyCasualTech  2 года назад +1

      So far I have gotten security updates fairly promptly, feels quicker than OnePlus
      Backup wise, it depends what data/apps you have that you want to keep.
      Some older apps can't be backed up, quite a lot of newer ones offer cloud backups now and even the Google One app does some backups for messages and other logs.
      I ended up migrating to different apps for things like weight/fitness tracking to something that does cloud backups or at least offers an export feature.
      I still lost all the data for some of my boardgame tracking through as the app was too old :(

      You don't have to root at all.
      Also you shouldn't re-lock the bootloader after install, as it will likely brick your device without a way to fix it

      For that you're best checking out a guide on xda - if you've managed a custom ROM, the process shouldn't be too bad

    Is this pixel experience plus?

    • @FilthyCasualTech

      It can be either - the process is the same, just a different file.
      Both files are offered on the Pixel Experience download page

      Seems odd as it should work
      Make sure you use the original cable - how long is it taking to charge, it might just display as slow?

      @@FilthyCasualTech какую камеру использовать лучше ? Все камеры от Гугл не стабильны, и нельзя менять объектив во время съёмки видео

      I used GCAM and found stability to be fine on my 7T Pro - it lets me change the lens too.
      Possibly try a few different versions if some have stability issues on your device.
