One thing that I always liked about skillet is their production value. So important and a necessity now with so much music today following a formula. Even if it may be predictable. It still sounds good.
This song is going to get a 9.6 for me folks! Back To Life blew me away, because I'm gunna be honest. This is the first song that I've heard, with THAT much energy in its opening chorus. I swear I replayed that at least 50 times- Vocals are the only part I was like, that was amazing, rather than, BEAUTIFUL! John is proper good, trust me, I just feel like Jen could have helped with the "Whats happening to me.." and the backup vocals for the first part of the chorus. The layout was my favorite vocal part. The drumming at the end, HOLY MOLY IS IT GOOD! The guitar solo that broke out was insane! The reason I like it more than the end of The Resistance, is because they stuck to the original tune, which in my case, is better, because it's such a good beat. Back To Life didn't have an amazing guitar solo, but it was a nice touch, especially paired with John's vocals. Honestly, the instrumental carries the hell out of this song. Im not a huge fan of the ending, the sort of fade out, but this song is still spectacular.
@@kellystrickland7412 there is a huge que so it would prolly be about 4-5 months if we request a song now😅 I think tho circus for a psycho is coming next !!
@@apec335 remember when basically we got 2 requests in a very short period of time? Dave has become too popular lol! Perhaps if I hadn't fallen off of responding we would have more songs in the que lol
I look forward to guessing your scores for songs now ... my guess was 8.7! Also I knew you were going to like that outro! That's my favorite part about this song! I was trying to find you a live version but was not able to. 😔 Looking forward to "You ain't ready!" Hopefully it's not too far back on your que. Also Ledger "Gravity". .... I have to see what else is left in the Skillet Playlist is left for you to listen to. @Apec????
@@apec335 I gave him the link for a live version, with a crazy outro much like in this song... and he uses his chyro arm bands ... so I am thinking the live version without the synths and the show itself is worthy of a 9+ ... but I like this song a lot ... definitely a workout song!
The first layout was akin to shifting gears from 1st to second in a car: Into the smooth power, Layout (shift). obvious, catch your breath, back on the power in second. Second layout: shifting to 3rd, still obvious, but not so much. Back on the gas. No layout the 3rd time because usually the 3 to 4 shift most often that one can be done smoothly without noticing a pause in power application. Well laid out out linear build up.
Have you heard of the group Soften the Glare? 3 piece instrumental band led by the Mudveyne bassist Ryan Martinie. As a bass player I'm sure you'd appreciate them. Check out their song March Of The Cephalopods 🤘😊🤘

Yes, that last minute is phenomenal! Jen killed it on the drums @ the end.
Thanks, I really loved your talk about the subdivisions, very nice

Niceee,
Would Dave like “you ain’t ready”??
I like it but I think the synthetic parts would be too much for him 😅
Hope he likes it

Added to the que
I thought "Victorious" was in the que for Skillet...guess I was wrong. Liked the video anyways.
It is still in the que, sitting at #141.
