How to Keep Sediment from Clogging Your Clothes Washer

A simple fix to keep sediment from clogging the hot and cold water lines feeding your clothes washer. I used a filter screen designed for a pressure washer to stop sand and sediment from clogging my washer. Instead of cleaning monthly, I might need to clean these every year or two.

You realize the screens in the back of the washer comes out so you can replace or clean them a little easier? I remove the line and the screen to clean every several months. Galvanized pipe >50 yr old too. Want to go to PEX

I did know that, but it's a pain and the spray bottle trick works great. I would love to upgrade my plumbing, but it's low on the (very long) list of house projects. This little filter trick has worked very well.
