I practiced a lot. Thanks to my father, my practice was always correct. I learned all of my flamenco repertoire by ear, and I never used tab. I read music and know theory well, although it never helped me to learn pieces by ear. Nor does it help me to improvise or even compose.

All those so complicated flamenco musics.. Actually they are nearly impossible to learn only by ear. You can play as Sabicas As Carlos Montoya as Ramon Montoya as Manolo Sanlucar as Paco De Lucia as other many artists (with soul).. and also you play classical guitar.There is only one expression: you are and exceptional and a genius and a gifted one.. No other guitarist can play so various style..By hardworking an ordinary musician cannot reach to this level.

Grisha is at the very top of my list of favorite guitarists, even at his young age, early 30's. I wish he goes on tour more often.
Live long Grisha, and please promise all of us you'll never stop playing. You are as great as any player who's ever played this glorious instrument. The guitar is the king of all musical instruments and (in my opinion) Flamenco is the most technically demanding style of playing.
Somewhere in the world people will wake up to a cloudy and grey day of unceasing rain and many who wanted to be outside and do things will be subdued and resigned to staying inside. But, then hours later the clouds will break and the world will be invited into the pristine beauty of a perfect afternoon, and with the air clean and washed a sunset so beautiful emerges that many call to others to share in this wonderful experience. You are that sunset Grisha, but in your case that sun is rising, not setting.
Michael, this is possibly the most beautiful thing anyone has ever commented on my channel and I thank you for it from my heart, even though I am not worthy of such words. I resign to staying inside on sunny and rainy days all my life to practice and explore this instrument so I can play better. Cheers!

@unknown9528 I am not trying to copy Paco, if that's what you mean. However, he is one of the guitarists that hugely influenced me.
This is what I would aspire to use as right hand technique, amazingly fluid playing... IMO, this should be inspiration 101 for those just starting Classical or Spanish guitar to understand what is possible 👍

This actually hurts so much :'( i'm killing myself to play this tune since i began flamenco guitar 1 year ago ... and this man, with his maestria, his fluent play and so much sensitive touch on the guitar, putting nuances at the right times, respencting the flamenco technique with a lot of classical influence, CRUSHED MY SKULL TILL DEATH !
I've been ten years on the guitar, and this video just demolished my ambitions to become a famous guitarist.

@TheMisskyo I totally agree,apart from one thing:it's not only players like him,as the reason guitar is still alive.
It's not an oldschool rock band,musical instruments and players who play them will always be around,such thing cannot die,and even if it could,people like him would not be the reason it would survive.
@killoe11 If someone doesn't compose his own music, this doesn't make him a bad musician. He can perform pieces written by others, adding his own heart and soul to what he plays. That's what really counts.

I just saw him playing at the Historical Hoover Theater in San Jose! Too bad I didn't get his autograph! It was amazing. He played many of the Paco De Lucia pieces and played them flawlessly!
